The Buccaneers Select QB Kyle Trask In Round 2
April 30th, 2021Finally, the Bucs put a truly promising young QB into their historic quarterback incubator.
It’s Gators QB Kyle Trask in Round 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Bucco Bruce Arians said he was very ready to draft a QB, and it seems he fell in love with the big and not-too-mobile pocket passer. If Arians wants Byron Leftwich to take the Bucs’ torch from him one day, then one can assume Arians would want to groom a pocket kind of guy now to fit his offense.
Trask is the guy former Bucs scout and Jets personnel executive and linebackers coach Pat Kirwan was pounding the drum for the Bucs to pick for weeks on his SiriusXM NFL Radio show.
SEC fans know Trask as a two-year starter who threw 69 touchdowns and 15 picks.
Joe is certain of one thing: This will be the most interesting Bucs preseason in years.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:35 pm
Terrible. Fire Licht
April 30th, 2021 at 9:35 pm
I don’t think Brady will care, but I still hope the Bucs ran it by him. I’d run my entire team through Brady, at least to get his blessing on everything.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:35 pm
Whoa. Whoa. Stay home Kyle. Welcome aboard. Learn from the best and be our dude
April 30th, 2021 at 9:37 pm
That pick was to get Gaytor Fans to buy season tix. Disgusting
April 30th, 2021 at 9:38 pm
Calm down Medicated Pete.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:38 pm
Wow…I really wanted Davis Mills if we were taking a QB. Mills looks better in every aspect of his game. I don’t mind the positional pick of QB, but I really hope we didn’t miss with this one.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:38 pm
Yes!!!! Welcome to Bucs. Learn the ropes from TB12 then take over when it’s time.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:38 pm
Honestly, the best QB prospect the Bucs have ever drafted. This guy has IT and some!!! Hope it transitions to the NFL
April 30th, 2021 at 9:38 pm
Awesome pick
April 30th, 2021 at 9:39 pm
Of course Brady had input……so did Leftwich & BA for sure……
April 30th, 2021 at 9:39 pm
Let’s go
April 30th, 2021 at 9:39 pm
Called it in the draft thread.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:39 pm
I am excited! Great pick!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:39 pm
I’m probably more excited about this than I should be. Next Big Ben?
April 30th, 2021 at 9:39 pm
Very accurate qb. I’m fine with it.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:39 pm
LOLOLOL @ Swampbuc.
Brady picked Trask for the Bucs organization.
How do you feel now about your prognostication skills?!?!?!?!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:40 pm
Total poggers moment from me. Heck yes!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:40 pm
Obviously a pick for the future. I guess the powers that be did not think he would make it too deep into the third round ese they would have grabbed someone else at 64 and tried to move up from the bottom of the third round.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:40 pm
LOVE IT. He WON’T play next year and maybe the following year. Meanwhile he’ll have the best teachers he could hope for. THIS will go down as a defining moment in the NFL’s next dynasty, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:40 pm
2nd round pick on a 3rd string QB?
Like Kyle Trask but don’t like the pick.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:40 pm
Not that it makes any difference but the Bucs have had terrible luck with Florida players… I am perfectly fine with what they have done. They know how to evaluate talent and we are empty behind Brady.
Check that box and move on filling out the roster.. oh yeah now you will see the Bucs trade up in the 3 rd …
April 30th, 2021 at 9:40 pm
FANTASTIC “LUXURY” PICK…
Trask has tremendous UPSIDE. Arguably more than most of those QBs that went in the 1st round.
Trask led college FB last year with more “big time throws” (however they calculate that statistic) with 41.
Pitts and Toney both had big years thanks to Trask.
4,300 yards passing to go with 43 TDs and only 8 INTs. IN THE SEC.
I don’t care who you are, those are amazing production stats from a QB in the SEC.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:40 pm
Oh yeah baby!!! Love it !! Learn how to be a pro from the best!!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:40 pm
Rodgers waited behind Farve for 3 years to start. Of Course Brady knows what they are doing. This kid will be in about the best QB INCUBATOR he could get. So hopefully they get at least 2 more years out of Brady before Trask ever starts. GO BUCS!!!!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:41 pm
I would have went another way, but have lots of respect for Pat Kirwain, so I will keep an open mind.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:41 pm
OK.. better him than another Jimbo bust…
Hopefully these coaches can coach him up and he will lead the Bucs to many winning seasons after Brady retires!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:41 pm
He has bust written all over him.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:41 pm
not feeling this pick, or trask as an eventual nfl starter…
he’s a future back up…
it’s gonna get tight and itchy now in the qb room with 3 back up qbs
April 30th, 2021 at 9:41 pm
Yesssss!!!!!!#
April 30th, 2021 at 9:41 pm
Dirty Bucs Says:
April 30th, 2021 at 9:38 pm
Wow…I really wanted Davis Mills if we were taking a QB. Mills looks better in every aspect of his game. I don’t mind the positional pick of QB, but I really hope we didn’t miss with this one.
………….
This is the Dumbest thing I have read today and that says ALOT
Can you give us a reason as to WHY you made this comment?
I can’t find one.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:41 pm
Finally. So now Brady can mold this guy into a HOFer. Hell to the yeah. Go Bucs
April 30th, 2021 at 9:42 pm
The top 9 list of Gators drafted by Tampa, by Greg Auman…
9. Robert Morgan, FB
8. Ahmad Black, S
7. Jimmy DuBose, RB
6. Jason Odom, OT
5. Jacquez Green, WR
4. Reidel Anthony, WR
3. Kenyatta Walker, OT
2. Errict Rhett, RB
1. Scot Brantley, LB
This is why, personally, I wouldn’t ever draft anyone from the Gators — the Bucs just don’t scout them well. Also the one time they should have picked a gator, instead on the eve of the draft they traded for Gary Anderson. Everyone had the Bucs taking Emmitt Smith before that…
April 30th, 2021 at 9:42 pm
they just wasted the 2nd rounder imho
April 30th, 2021 at 9:42 pm
Dont’ like this at all.
Waste
April 30th, 2021 at 9:42 pm
Why am I thinking of Ndog?
lol 😂
April 30th, 2021 at 9:42 pm
I am cautiously optimistic. He’s the right kind of dude to be patient, work hard, and soak it all up from a master like Brady.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:42 pm
Good pick GO Bucs!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:42 pm
Speechless we really could have used a DB/S for depth and special teams gunner
April 30th, 2021 at 9:43 pm
BradyBucs – Sounds like Danny Wuerffel.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:43 pm
No problem taking QB here. He can be either a starter in 1-2 yrs or backup.
The sky is his limit.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:43 pm
OK – well – hope this works out.
I’m somewhat sure the Bucs were gonna take the Center from Oklahoma – but the chiefs snagged him 1 pick prior…… Bastads!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:44 pm
Big strong quarterback with a good arm. Carried the gators last year. Play better against Alabama then Ohio State or Clemson. Put up school records and Heisman Trophy finalist. All in one year of starting. The only people not liking the pic or the ones that kept supporting Jameis Winston through all his turnovers and sexual assault claims. Just ignore the Florida state trash. Great pick!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:44 pm
Let the Boo Birds Sing! I think it’s a great pick. Guy has a huge arm and is accurate. Pure pocket passes Ala Brady who can throw the ball downfield. Learning from the GOAT won’t hurt at all. We needed a QB at some point. This was the year to grab one. Good pick bright and crew. They know football. Go Bucs!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:44 pm
I remember the draft they passed on Emmitt Smith of Florida.
They said he was “too small” to be an NFL Back!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:44 pm
The best QB available. Better than Mills. More experience, games, touchdowns, and hard competition.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:45 pm
LOOOOOOVVVVVINNNNGGGG LAUGHING at the TraShk haters!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Suck it!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:45 pm
Medicated Pete
The Bucs won the SuperBowl they don’t need a Gator to sell tickets 🙄
April 30th, 2021 at 9:45 pm
I’m glad we picked QB, it was the wise move long term.
He seems smart and should do well in this system and TB to mentor.
Those of you thinking TB is pissed are silly.
He knows he doesn’t have too many years left and I think he’d take satisfaction in making Trask a starting caliber QB.
Now let’s blow our wad and get 2 picks this round and be done.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:45 pm
I think Kyle is going to be damn good. I love the pick
April 30th, 2021 at 9:46 pm
BARRRRRF
April 30th, 2021 at 9:46 pm
Chris@Apple – I don’t really remember that, I mean he was still a 1st round pick. It was just who needed a RB, and the Bucs badly need a RB and everyone, that I remember, had the Bucs taking him with their pick, which was at #4 I believe. Instead traded for Gary Anderson and draft Keith McCants. Talk about a franchise changing draft.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:46 pm
Its nice to finally have a team that’s so deep and so talented that we can make an “investment” pick. A number 3 QB — Griffin or Gabbert will be #2.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:46 pm
Ha! The JW apologists are coming out of the woodwork.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:46 pm
Trask is the perfect rookie backup qb, bc he’s been one and stepped up when his name gets called. Now he gets to study under the GOAT.
Be cynical if you want, or have been disappointed they didn’t take someone else, I get it. But this kid carried the gators to relevance and dropped dimes in the process.
If he can grow and develop the ceiling his high in the long run, and he’ll be a cheap qb while we pay the dead cap piper. If he doesn’t get the chance to play in the next year, that means Brady was healthy, which should be a win-win.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:46 pm
Not gonna say something ridiculous like fire Licht. And I still think we win the SB. But this has been an awful draft.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:47 pm
Terrible choice. Been saying it for months. No thanks to Gator QB’s (and players altogether to be honest). I pray I’m wrong but history says otherwise. Could have chosen a better player and added some depth. Smells like Josh Rosen 2021 to me.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:48 pm
This is a good pick. Not a position or player on my radar, but it’s not bad. I am glad to know he can sit and get a PHD level education on how to be a pro QB from Brady, Clyde, Tom Moore, and BA.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:48 pm
Rod Munch,
You are clearly CLUELESS.
Trask throws with much more velocity than Wuerffel. Wuerffel’s best year was 3.600 yards passing after 4 years of starting. Trask in only his 2nd year (plagued by Covid) threw for 4,300 yards with more TDs than Wuerrfel ever had and less INTs. Wuerffel also only completed 58% of his passes. Trask completed 69% of his passes!
Not even a close comparison. Not at all.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:48 pm
LOVE
April 30th, 2021 at 9:48 pm
KT aka 1K Tuddies…. In the House!!!!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:49 pm
damn we shoulda taken a shot on davis mills
April 30th, 2021 at 9:49 pm
THE BUCS JUST HIT THE JACKPOT💰💰💰❗️❗️❗️With Kyle Trask of the Gators 🐊💰❗️This is how the winning teams do it. Never reach for a player, they always fall in your lap. That’s how Bill Walsh, Not only a HOF Winning Coach of the 49ers, but the greatest GM in NFL HISTORY 😀❗️Ran his drafts. Now Kyle Trask can learn under the feet of the MASTER, THE GOAT TOM BRADY 💰💰💰😀😀😀❗️❗️❗️The Bucs are hitting Aces at the Black Jack table, while the rest of the NFL are crapping in their pants😀❗️GO BUCS 😀❗️
April 30th, 2021 at 9:50 pm
I’m not going to pretend I know Brady had input in this pick like many of you are doing.
I know next to nothing about Trask, but I am very happy with the pick.
The person who suggested he is the next Big Ben? From what I saw he is nothing like Ben.
But…he does remind me of Tom Brady, who sank to the 6th round even though he was an accurate pocket passer. Why? Because scouts claimed he didn’t have arm strength.
Just like the announcers were saying about Trask.
I know nothing, but I suspect and hope this was a great pick.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:51 pm
Can you imagine being dumb enough to think the Bics picked a Gator bc they need to sell tickets
April 30th, 2021 at 9:51 pm

April 30th, 2021 at 9:51 pm
A QB with a limp arm, who can’t drive the ball, in a deep ball offense is a bad combo. If he has excellent ball placement and a QB who can process info extremely fast, you could run an offense like the Saints ran with Brees. Will have to see him making NFL throws before I say he can or can’t do it, but he doesn’t profile as a good pick for this offense.
But hey, Licht has more than earned the benifit of the doubt, so I’m not going to jump on the ‘bust’ wagon at any point before his 2nd season, you should never judge a draft pick in his rookie year, unless it’s someone like M.J. Stewart who is clearly too slow to play in the NFL since you’re not going to get faster. But same with arm strength, if you can’t meet that minimum level, you can’t play. I’m not sure Trask is that far down on the arm chart.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:52 pm
Nice!!!!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:52 pm
Awesome pick Leicht, welcome to the World Champion Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers Kyle Trask! Now go knock on TB’s front door tomorrow morning and get started!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:52 pm
Well, Brady could start with teaching him to not throw interceptions in big games… oh, wait… well, hope it works out- but there were some very good OLinemen available.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:54 pm
FOR ALL THE “ARMCHAIR GMs” crying about the pick…
The next two QB prospects went off the board in 2 out of the 3 picks after the Bucs selected Trask.
The Bucs knew the Vikings & Texans who had picks coming up were going to draft QBs. They timed it perfectly with their #64 pick, and they had their choice of which of the remaining QBs they wanted.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:54 pm
SB- I played QB into college. I understand the position well. When you evaluate Mills vs Trask, Mills jumps off the screen at you as the better prospect. Everything from footwork, arm talent, athleticism…basically all the tangible measurables…all point to Mills.
I understand Trask had a fantastic year. I won’t argue he doesn’t have upside. If it were my pick to make, I take Mills and I don’t hesitate. It’s not even a decision for me. I may have taken Mills in the first ahead of Mac Jones as well. There’s a reason Mills came out of high school as the #1 prospect in the country. If he played at Alabama instead of Stanford, he would have been the #2 pick in this draft.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:54 pm
Smh (SB) was talking about drafting this guy 6 months ago
April 30th, 2021 at 9:55 pm
Everyone is forgetting. We need another backup QB this year. Let him hold the clipboard for Brady until he retires. Seriously doubt Brady is going to play much longer then 45 years old. You ain’t going get the top 5 QBs at the bottom of the second round. Well worth the investment.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:56 pm
BradyBucs, wuerffel was in the 65% range as a senior.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:56 pm
(Sigh)
Noodle armed and slow to read COLLEGE defenses.
No athleticism and poor pocket awareness.
Has fumble and interception problems.
Not acurate. A poor man’s Ryan Griffin.
What is it with Licht and 2nd round picks?
Well, everything has been going so well, something had to go off the rails eventually.
Hopefully we dont waste our third round pick, and get a player that can help us now.
If Trask is ever our starting QB- things have gone horribly wrong.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:57 pm
BradyBucs – I’m just going by his scouting profile, and when it says he can’t drive the ball and will have a hard time throwing deep in the NFL despite having excellent ball placement. I’m just going by the scouting reports — from multiple sites, who all say the same thing. When I hear that profile, it makes me think of Wuerffel.
Also 25 years ago completing nearly 60% of your throws is like completing nearly 80% of your throws today.
In any case, I’m not rooting against the kid. But based on limited reading he seems like a bad fit, but again, I haven’t seen much of him so I’m going on limited info. I hope you’re right.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:58 pm
I agree with Buc Bonzai, as an FSU fan it is obvious that I am not a Gator homer but its idiotic to write off this draft already unless you are a troll. I have enough faith in Licht and the brain trust to give them some leeway here. I get the criticism but any QB on the board right now is a dice shoot and anyone else left on the Bucs board also have issues, albeit injury history, red flags, a deficient skill, need development etc….. Anyhow good to see some of the trolls are back, I was concerned for your well being after the Bucs won it all!
April 30th, 2021 at 9:58 pm
Dirty Bucs, nobody believes you have ever played football.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:59 pm
We need an heir apparent this year. Get on board the Trask train! A poor man’s Brady. Processes information quickly (opposite of Jay Miss), not the strongest arm, slow as hell, but very accurate and smart.
April 30th, 2021 at 9:59 pm
Rod,
Again, you’re clueless. No single scouting report on Trask says he has a “limp arm.” They say he has a QUALITY ARM but just not an overwhelming cannon.
They also say Trask is the MOST ACCURATE passer in this draft class.
I’ll take a decent arm and incredible accuracy/ball placement over a cannon arm (Winston) that lacks accuracy and will lead to incompletions and INTs.
Many claim Brady doesn’t have a cannon arm either.
Jeff George had one of the strongest arms and look how his career turned out. Arm strength isn’t everything. Jamarcus Russell also could throw it 50 yards from his knees (which was hyped before the draft).
Go watch Trask Highlights on YouTube. He was throw deep passes all the time.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:00 pm
I dont see pick number 64 as a second round pick. Trask as a third rounder sounds about right. Likely more upside than a couple of QBs I could think of in that position room. I can live with this pick.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:00 pm
Munch, perhaps the QB Whisper has caught his breath after a year with Jameis and is ready to work his mojo with Trask
April 30th, 2021 at 10:00 pm
Dirty Bucs – Based off my limited knowledge, I agree with you, Mills seems a lot more like an NFL QB as opposed to Trask. Trask just doesn’t profile as a good NFL QB, there’s not a lot of slow footed immobile QBs with a limited arm that have made it in the NFL, even if they are really tall.
Well now I need to go watch a bunch of film and see if what I’m reading backs up what I see. The reports all saying he can’t drive the ball will be a fatal fault if true – so I’m hoping they’re just idiots who are exaggerating.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:01 pm
Awesome. At the beginning of all this I thought they would take him in the second round but then I started thinking they’re not going quarterback until next year.
I’m glad they did. Trask seems like the perfect guy to sit behind Brady for a year or two and learn from him and BL.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:01 pm
@Rod Munch some good digging. Thanks. I added a little.
9. Robert Morgan, FB – Round 10
8. Ahmad Black, S – Round 5
7. Jimmy DuBose, RB – Round 7
6. Jason Odom, OT – Round 4
5. Jacquez Green, WR – Round 2
4. Reidel Anthony, WR – Round 1
3. Kenyatta Walker, OT – Round 1
2. Errict Rhett, RB – Round 2
1. Scot Brantley, LB – Round 3
Also,
Dexter McNabb – Round 5
Vernon Hargreaves – Round 1
Earnest Graham — UDFA
April 30th, 2021 at 10:02 pm
JACK BURTON,
WRONG. Wuerffel completed only 57.5% of his passes in his senior year. He averaged barely above 60% (60.5%) for his entire career.
Wuerffel was incredibly inaccurate AND had a weak arm AND bad mechanics.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:04 pm
Trask did play against the best D’s in SEC, so learning for 2 yrs under Brady will be the best incubator for a QB with potential. Actually like him as 2nd string better than Gabbert.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:04 pm
I don’t understand why everyone is down on him athletically. He moves in the pocket very well and he’s a tad faster than most think, kind a like a Matt Ryan in his early days.
I don’t care about strong arms. They’re only three things that matter with a quarterback-
1- brains to process
2- decision making
3- accuracy
If you can process the defense, make the right decision quicker and better than others, arm strength is irrelevant.
His arm is plenty strong enough, he’s pretty damn accurate and he makes the right decisions.
Can’t wait to see how he develops
April 30th, 2021 at 10:04 pm
Rod,
“He seems like a bad fit.”
Okay… so you now know more than the Bucs Organization that just won the Super Bowl (their 2nd)? LOL.
A scouting report summarizes attributes. It’s not a predictor of functional productivity.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:05 pm
Geno, sins of the father? What do those people have to do with Trask? By that reasoning, the Bucs should never ever ever ever ever pick someone from fsu.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:05 pm
BradyBucs – I’m not reading anywhere where people are saying ‘quality’ arm, they’re saying he can throw deep, but without velocity – and in the NFL, that means you have a noodle arm. If you can throw 50 yards, but it’s a rainbow that hangs in the air, those are getting intercepted.
But, as I said, I’m going off what I’m reading. Hopefully they’re wrong and you’re right, but you sound like a homer, so it’s hard to take you seriously.
But I am rooting for you to be right, even if you don’t believe me, I mean it. I’m going to watch some film and see what I think, not that it actually matters to anyone. But I’m hoping you’re right and I’m just reading some garbage fake news from bad scouts.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:09 pm
At the end of the day, I’m happy the Bucs selected a QB. It was the smart thing to do. We can all give opinions, but when it’s all said and done we’re Bucs fans. We WANT every pick to be a home run. So, I’m going to hope Trask is a future HOF QB Tampa picked up late in the 2nd round.
There’s no point in being miserable about a draft pick, ever. Let the boys get on the field and play. Evaluate after 2 years. Some of the comments in here are so salty, ya’ll need chill. Good luck, Trask.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:10 pm
Trask’s arm is at least as strong as Brady’s is now. He is also more mobile than Brady is now. The physical comparisons in this offense are irrelevant. The rest, as with EVERY PLAYER IN THE DRAFT, remains to be seen.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:11 pm
I hated it but then remembered who is doing the drafting evaluating grooming, etc…..and I resolved not to be a whiny bitch like Aaron and Dingleberry.
Ok Kyle – prove to me you can be better that Danny Wuerrfel.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:14 pm
A Texas boy from my city !!!
April 30th, 2021 at 10:15 pm
I wish espn would put the name of each announcer on the screen. By the way, Jimmie Giles for us was fantastic.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:15 pm
BradyBucs – You’ll be happy to know that WalterFootball, who I think do a good job with prospects, actually say the exact opposite of the other reports I’ve been reading and say he has a ‘strong arm’.
So I’ll just have to watch the film myself and see what i think, if he’s just a college QB who can throw college deep, or if he can throw NFL deep. His profile on Walter is much much more positive than anything else I’ve read and said his only real knock is that he’s immobile, which I don’t see as an issue since that’s what the offense is designed for.
So that’s good news.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:17 pm
Yeah capt tim interception prone. I mean 43tds to 8 interceptions. I guess that means that he is interception prone to not throw them. I think we just went through the what a real interception prone qbs is. We just drafted a guy in the second round who has the ability to sit learn from the best and transition right into the starting QBs position with training from the goat. And yet you guys cry. Because he won’t play for a couple years. It’s called building a team for the future. Licht might have just made a franchise saving pick. For the future. I am juiced this pick could keep us relevant for the next decade and a half. Bucs fans see the long term goal. Tom Brady won’t play for ever. But this is what happens when you draft a in state qb. Half the fans will hate it just because of there FSU Miami UCF and USF loyalty. But the future of our team just got a lot better. We are returning all starters and key players from a super bowl winning team since 1979. So it’s great to see us use a pick to invest in the future. And not a sexy he he is going to be a great role player for the now. I love it. And I’m not a Florida fan. I’m a bucs fan and this guy is legit check your stat sheet bro. Are previous qbs threw mor interceptions in two nfl games than this guy threw in a whole season of sec football.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:18 pm
Give him a running game and a good defense wich we have . He doesn’t have to be a hall of fame quarterback by year 3. I will say the same thing I said about Jamies or any other quarterback.

I hope Brady is more accommodating to Trask than he was to Jimmy G.

@Who . Bill Walsh drafted 2 QBs instead of Brady. So there’s that.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:30 pm
Thought JL was getting better in the 2nd round, but this one is right up there with ASJ, Noah Spence, Roberto Aguayo and Carlton Davis.

Jim – According to Pats fans, when the Pats drafted Jimmy G, Brady doubled down on being the GOAT and went to, what, 4 more SB’s since then? Brady plays best with a chip on his shoulder, when the world is against him, so if that is all Trask does, is motivate Brady to make the Bucs regret the pick by playing for 5-more years, then I’m all for it.
Still, I’d have run it by Brady. He’s not going to block the pick or anything, but I’d just give the boss a heads up and allow him to bless the pick. In New England, on after drafting Jimmy G, Belichick just said we all know Brady’s age and contract. Bill wanted to run Brady out of town, and Brady forced him not to.

Bucs Guy – You’re not helping your case by saying Carlton Davis, who is one of the best young corners in the NFL, is a bust. You meant MJ Stewart, who was awful.

Damn, just got done dealing with the FSU/Winston nut hugger brigade. Now we will have to go through it again with the Gator/Trask butt pounder division! Bucs should never draft a QB again, unless he’s some super athletic freak project QB in the 6th round. Just hasn’t been our luck historically with the drafted QB’s. Should just keep going after the veteran QBs in FA and build a dominant defense through the draft. Then again, I could care less about this years draft. It’s been enjoyable not giving a sh!t who we draft this year.

With the best passing game in the NFL , we need a backup who can get the ball to all this talent if Brady pulls a hamstring or whatever. QB in the modern NFL is more important than any 3 players combined. I hope he never gets on the field, but everyone said this was a luxury pick. This was the last pick of the 2nd round and having insurance to get the ball to all these studs is an insurance policy worth buying. This is NOTHING like the Packers drafts. Nobody thinks he was drafter to beat out Brady. He is insurance and maybe an heir apparent in 3 years. We brought everyone back from a Super Bowl championship. This was common sense , I think.

Good pick considering that we got him with the last pick in round two and we needed one.
April 30th, 2021 at 10:49 pm
Didn’t like the pick more because it was in the second round then who it was seemed like a reach to me but whatever he is the pick just got to get over now I guess
April 30th, 2021 at 10:49 pm
We needed a backup QB.
I just hope Brady will not think it’s a move to push him out like what is happening in GB.
The kid can learn a bit from Brady, just by staying near, but that’s not Brady’s job. Brady is a competitor. He can possibly see another good QB with talent as a treat. Especially at his age. The new QB must play it cool. This team can win it all, if the new QB fit in the locker room. I think it will be a perfect fit.
Brady is a team guy. He knows this team needed a back up QB. For now Kyle is not a treat, but in tow years, this choice can go south if Brady want to continue.
I would had prefer a 4 round QB that is no treat for Brady at all in the next 2 years, and search a 1 round QB in 2 years. But, on the other hand, if Trask can play it cool with Brady and if they can get along well, Trash is a very good QB on long term though.
All will be in the hands of our coachs to glue this team together for years to come. And they will. We have the best futur of all teams now! Love the pic! You hou!
GO BUCS!

Sorry, I wite Trask, but the automatic correction changed it for a h!
Incredible these things,… Who the hell program these? Ha, ha, ha,…

Bucs Guy,
Putting Carlton Davis with the others, really? Davis is a good young corner who usually takes on the other team’s top receiver. Spence unfortunately got injured and didn’t work out but was worth the pick where he was drafted.
April 30th, 2021 at 11:03 pm
Let the kid learn and stfu nobody knows how he will turn out till he gets his chance to play. Be happy he’s sitting behind the Goat and will soak up all his traits.
April 30th, 2021 at 11:18 pm
For everyone complaining, do you want Gabbert to start if Brady gets hurt?
April 30th, 2021 at 11:20 pm
David Says….
1- brains to process
2- decision making
3- accuracy
Accuracy is massive, and rarely if ever is improved at the pro level.
Accuracy and not making dumb turnovers are the first 2 things to look at when evaluating a young QB.
Arm strength is after these.
Being able to process quickly will come as you learn the offense.
If you are not accurate, and you can not hit the broadside of a barn, then the other traits will help you only be average+ average. So we will see how Trask does. GO BUCS!!!
April 30th, 2021 at 11:23 pm
This is a great pick. Who is our QB after Brady????…..The Bucs just bought themselves 1 option. 1 options is mych better then zero in my opinion(unless you consider Ryan Griffen a starting QB).
April 30th, 2021 at 11:24 pm
Plus QB is kinda an important position. ROOTING FOR TRASK!!
CHOMP CHOMP!
GO BUCS!!!

Well, Licht has his hit and miss years,,, other than Tryon, big miss so far 2nd and 3rd, (to me)! I hope Im wrong, I’ll pull for them, I love my Bucs, but dmiitt boy!

MadMax — look at who you wanted in the past versus who Licht drafted and singned in FA.
Reaize the culmination of Licht’s efforts was a SB win in RayJay.
Now — “big miss?” Really? Well, I’m glad you think so and you’re posting anonymously on a Bucs news sire rather than actually doing any work for the Bucs.
I hate always drafting early.

I selfishly would have preferred someone who could have played this year like maybe another DT but I understand getting a young QB to groom for the future. I would have liked Davis Mills better but oh well here’s to hoping Kyle trask becomes a great QB 2-3 years down the road after Brady leads us to another title or two
May 1st, 2021 at 10:51 am
Hey Wesley , you can’t be a bust if your the last pick in the 2nd round. Great luxury pick with a lot of upside.Trask can sit and learn from the best while he fully develops physically.
