Antonio Brown Not Going To Court
April 21st, 2021Well, this may clear some things up.
One reason people suspected the Bucs — or other NFL teams — had not yet signed (former?) Bucs free agent wide receiver, furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing Antonio Brown was that he was preparing to go to court in a civil case where the defendant claimed Brown assaulted her.
Well, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Brown has settled with the defendant and this case will not go to court. It’s over.

So, does this mean the Bucs are still players for Brown? Of will this prompt other teams to get involved and maybe drive up Brown’s price.
As Joe is typing this here article, in 90 minutes Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht is expected to speak about the draft. Joe is fairly certain Licht will be asked about this Brown development.
DRAFT PARTY!
Your video invitation to Big Storm Clearwater, Thursday night, April 29! Giveaways, special guests, and more. Ira Kaufman and Joe will be in the house starting at 7 p.m.

If Brown decides to hold our feet to the fire and demand more, I say sayonara AB. Thanks for the memories.
April 21st, 2021 at 11:39 am
He was a head case before the possible court date.
I don’t think he can “settle” his way out of being a head case.
April 21st, 2021 at 11:40 am
I think more teams will get involved
May wait until after draft to see if they can get their young stud in draft
April 21st, 2021 at 11:42 am
Rick Stroud just reported that look for AB to sign with the Bucs soon.

What a time to be a BUCS fan! These are our problems LOL

MAGA Make Antonio Great Again

Would not surprise me if a contingency in the Buc’s contract offer was a non-court settlement.
Maybe this will clear up the Brown situation and he will sign as soon as the settlement check clears.

Good find. Here is tweet:
Was just told the #GoBucs negotiations with Antonio Brown are “99 percent” done. He will be reunited with Tom Brady.
April 21st, 2021 at 11:55 am
I’m sure he admitted no wrongdoing but paid a heavy price for that. He’s an expensive insurance policy now. They clearly don’t “need” him. On the other hand, you can never have enough great players. Injuries happen and can derail a season. The injury bug always seems to bite defending champs.
April 21st, 2021 at 11:57 am
I think Brady can keep him on the right path if anyone can. He would be a terrific signing, imo. What an offense.

So AB finally listened to the lawyers and wrote a check–Tom must have explained to him that the draft is only a week away and there’s a lot of talk about WR’s.
April 21st, 2021 at 12:13 pm
That was my biggest hang up on him resigning with the bucs. Sign him back to the team, but keep the same policy. One mistake and you are out the door.
April 21st, 2021 at 12:16 pm
Another day another AB article.
Good news! Only 7 more AB articles until the draft.

GO BUCS!!!!!

+1 Mitch, spot on. Zero tolerance policy should not change.
April 21st, 2021 at 12:38 pm
That’s a game changer. Before I was indifferent. Now I’m fully on board. Sign him.
April 21st, 2021 at 12:40 pm
His price just went up quite a bit. He is still a PR and team liability, but not nearly as bad. The Bucs likely can’t afford him now. But I’m not saying they should have already signed him. He’s likely gone.
April 21st, 2021 at 12:41 pm
ABnormal to re-sign with Tampa Brady’s… Buccaneers had to sweeten the deal with a brand new highchair, year supply of Gerber Baby food (peas&carrots) and a shiny Tricycle 👍🏻🍻
April 21st, 2021 at 12:42 pm
Let Joe guess, Joe should have ignored this breaking news because you are pining to read something on Justin Watson?
April 21st, 2021 at 12:47 pm
Rick Stroud reporting that we should be signing AB “soon” he expects
April 21st, 2021 at 1:24 pm
This is good for past transgressions…I still think AB is a great talent. We are better with him. That being said. I would still offer incentive heavy contract with playing time guarantees. We now only have to worry about the future freakouts, when that eventually happens..
April 21st, 2021 at 1:38 pm
Sign Antonio!

I can think of 31 other teams that would LOVE to be in the Buc’s shoes
April 21st, 2021 at 2:41 pm
Unfortunately for the Bucs, it could make it more difficult to re-sign him as others teams may jump in now. Good for AB personally to get this behind him though. It will allow him to focus more on football.
April 21st, 2021 at 2:54 pm
Bucs have spent their FA money. They need to make some moves to free up cap space to be able to sign draft picks. Not sure whether we can do anything with Brown at this point.
April 21st, 2021 at 3:05 pm
Bring him back.
April 21st, 2021 at 4:07 pm
Great reply Joe! GO bucs!
April 21st, 2021 at 4:57 pm
No one in the draft at Bucs draft position is even close to AB talentwise. He’s worth the risk even if he doesn’t finish the season. Arians is loyal to ME but AB should really start in his place in two receiver sets.
April 21st, 2021 at 5:07 pm
Sign him. Quickly before others pounce. 2 mil per for 2 years
April 21st, 2021 at 7:05 pm
That’s great and means we can ignore WR in the draft unless we don’t plan on keeping CG.
April 21st, 2021 at 7:09 pm
And for the Bucs, unlike any other team, I firmly believe he will behave because of the Brady Effect. I have ZERO character concerns for AB if he is here. If he signs elsewhere, I would have huge concerns. But, not once a headcase, always a headcase. I am a psychiatrist and I assure you that people with mental issues can be effecitvely stabilized and live normal lives with meds and therapy. We don’t know if he has done that but just hoping to make a point.
April 21st, 2021 at 8:36 pm
hi kids: you got to believe a significant incentive for AB to settle the civil suit was the lack of market contracts offers. his agent is telling him “we settle this case and we’ll get teams to make realistic offers”. if that’s true, sounds like he’s gone. Have a good life Antonio! go BUCS!

whom ever signs his is also going to pay for the check he just cut this lady…
his price went up…
and a check has been cut…
now he will want that money all inclusive when he signs…
he is now clear and good to go…
until his next incident 🙂
