Alvin Kamara Says Bucs More Prepared, Hungrier
April 3rd, 2021What sweet music this is.
All-world Saints running back Alvin Kamara, the four-time Pro Bowler, seems to know the torch has been passed in the NFC South.
Speaking to the Club Shay Shay podcast this week, Kamara sounded humbled by the Bucs’ performance in the playoffs. He threw around plenty of Tampa Bay love and then got specific.
“I think when one team is more prepared than the other, I mean, it’s kind of like, ‘What can you do?'” Kamara said of January’s playoff loss.
“You know, we came in; we felt good. Everybody talks about, ”It’s already hard to beat a team once. It’s hard to beat a team twice. It’s almost impossible to beat a team three times — blah, blah, blah. I don’t really think we were concerned with that. Man, I really couldn’t even tell you. We felt good and we thought we were prepared. It just turned out that they were more prepared than us. And I guess they had a better plan.”
If that wasn’t fun enough, Kamara went on to say this of the Bucs’ postseason defense:
”They was tired of getting their ass whooped. (laughs). Literally, they were tired of getting their ass whooped and they played like it, you know,” Kamara said.
“They played like a defense that was like, ‘Hey, we talked about this all week. And we talked about not letting it happen, and it’s not going to happen.’ You know, respect to those dudes.”

Can’t wait to see this guy’s production drop when Dink and Dunk Brees isn’t feeding him the ball.
April 3rd, 2021 at 8:51 pm
Winfield Jr. ball strip is one of the biggest plays in team history
April 3rd, 2021 at 9:15 pm
JW had terrible touch on short passes with us.
Kamara is one of the best players in the league.
AK thrived with the ever accurate Brees.
Have to agree with Snook on this.
Sure as hell will be fun to watch and play them.
Go Bucs!
In BA I Trust!

Sean Payton yells, “ALVINNNNN”!!!
April 3rd, 2021 at 9:44 pm
New Orleans is done. Payton is a mess. Jameis is a mess. Lattimore is a mess. Michael Thomas is a mess.
April 3rd, 2021 at 9:45 pm
Pretty classy even if some of that was a backhanded complement. What a difference from punk a$$ Cameron Jordan. I’ve got new found respect for AK
April 3rd, 2021 at 9:53 pm
Good on Kamara. Gotta appreciate that kinda sportsmanship in this day and age.
April 3rd, 2021 at 10:01 pm
Suck it New Orleans!!! Have no respect for anyone on that team except brees. Dirty coaches and players that got their asses kicked. It isn’t just the Bucs licking their chops with jameis as qb. Falcons and panthers will feast on him (we know by experience)
April 3rd, 2021 at 10:28 pm
New Orleans is not done. We beat them in the playoffs when it mattered. We knew Brees limitations, there was no taysom hill in that game either. Winston don’t have those limitations. He throws a bunch of interceptions but he throws a bunch of of touchdowns too. Watch us come out and play them in a zone defense next year. Yes the Bucs were tired of the interceptions but took them 5 years to move on for a reason. Here we go being like the teams we hate and getting all arrogant about last year. We ain’t going undefeated and no one knows for sure New Orleans is done until after the draft and that team hit the field. Losing players does not mean a team is in full rebuild mode. I don’t like a single player for that team I respected Brees but didn’t like him, Winston doesn’t have a dead arm people and he may have well well learned to be the game manager we wanted him to be but he was too stupid to understand going for the big contract with big throws. He don’t have to do that now. I fear that team more than the Packers still until proven otherwise

appreciate kamara not making excuses for the outcome. kamara was scoring for fun in the first 2 matchups and he knows he saw a new bucs defense in the postseason
April 3rd, 2021 at 10:42 pm
That was such a sweet, special win. Winfield turned the whole thing around…felt like beating the Eagles in the 2002 NFC Championship Game. Once Jamies danced in the visiting locker room…it was on.

Kamara was having fun with DWhite in the playoff game. Good sport and total beast

Pewter power you are showing your true colors. You think the saints will be better without brees. That jameis will magically get it together and be a game manager. Guess what a game manager doesn’t beat us. Gun slingers who take risk are the only type of qbs who will beat us. You can’t really be serious trusting Winston to be a game manager and take his team down the field on a 15 play drive consistently. As soon as he feels pressure he gets happy feet starts running around. And then will throw it in the direction of his receivers. Leading to interceptions.
Just look at last year when brees got hurt they put in Winston. He threw 8 passes and 2 of them were dropped by the defense eliminating 2sure interceptions. If he gets the starting position he will be so amped to play us that his first half accuracy issues will be even worse. He will try to do way to much to prove we made a mistake. That he will throw 3 picks and after the game mumble about how it was someone else’s fault that he threw 3 picks. We ha e seen this for 5 to many years. He will always be a turnover prone qb who throws a couple perfect passes a game. I am looking forward to playing the saints if he is the starter. He will try to do to much and we will watch Winfield and Davis high step Into the end zone.

All I know is: I still can’t believe we didn’t go after him. He was there, lot’s of people thought he would be the pick and I was quite disappointed when we didn’t. Had no idea he’d be so good, but was so disappointed we didn’t get him or any other rb after him.

When was the last time we heard that our beloved Bucs were the more prepared team? This coaching staff is amazing. There’s no way after this next season it stays together. Teams are going to be drooling to get some of these guys and gals.

@Pewter Power,
JW doesn’t have the weapons in NO. Jameis will be Jameis. He’s going to have some good games, some really awful games, and he’s going to be padding stats playing catch up. You’re going to hear rumblings from the fans and maybe the locker room to switch to Taysom Hill at some point.
I think Jameis’s stats will be down considering he doesn’t have the weapons to throw to/bail him out. If Michael Thomas comes back still checked out, it’s going to be ugly in Nawlins. You can’t underestimate the leadership, experience, and stability that Drew Brees brought to that team.
April 4th, 2021 at 3:00 am
yeah seems like the saints had their chances and they lost over and over and now they are destined for buccaneers cove. hard to believe they are putting Winston in for QB. can’t wait to see michael thomas expression on the fourth int of the game.
April 4th, 2021 at 4:14 am
For all the dislike of players on other teams, most of them actually seem like pretty good guys.
April 4th, 2021 at 5:17 am
I’ll never fear a winston lead team because he’ll help keep you in the game.
April 4th, 2021 at 5:31 am
It’s super bowl or bust for winston and the saints. No more excuses for that guy He has sat and learned behind a great QB. Has a great coaching staff and oline a defense a kicker. Also has a deadly return man also has been in offense two years!!!! By the way these are things were told he needs to succeed. But oneilbucs and others are to scared to hold him to standards. But it comes so natural to bash the Bucs and hold them to standards. No more excuses!!!!!

Classy of Kamara. Him and Bress are the only Ain’ts I can stand. Hate loud mouth Jordan and mega ego Sean Payton. It will be nice to watch them spiral down into the abyss the next few years with JW throwing to the wrong jerseys.
April 4th, 2021 at 8:09 am
NO is done….brees was a hell of a leader and player . .he brought NO the somewhat winning culture they HAD…Hill will start over JW bc he is better but they have serious problems in NO…
April 4th, 2021 at 8:10 am
Cool words from kamara there
That guy is a flat out stud
April 4th, 2021 at 11:21 am
He should be humbled White put him on his back all game and was in his face letting him know it. Saints are not done, they went 5-0 with Bridgewater so don’t count them out. Do I think Jamais can beat the Bucs? No, he doesn’t read defenses that fast. He better stretch out good because he’ll be running for 120 straight minutes. That being said, any given Sunday.
April 4th, 2021 at 1:49 pm
I think the Saints will ne the toughest games on our schedule. Just ask yourself do the Saints seem to you like a team that will just concede the division to the Bucs?……..The Saints seem to me like a team that is ticked off we ended Drews career with a loss. I expect them to bring their best game to try and beat us.
And I know some of you guys are salivating to see Winston embarass himself and give us one of his trademark 5 INT games….but also remember a good percent of his games he was brilliant and destroyed defenses……And even if he does throw some ints lets just remember that he will keep battling us til the very end…..and if he pulls off a major comback vs us it wont be the first time.
So lets take our bragging rights in stride. We got rid of Winston and immediately won a ring. Bucs made the right call. Be happy with that and realize beating the Saints in 2021 is far from a gimme. Like mist NFL games
April 4th, 2021 at 3:47 pm
Lol as a saints fan I wasn’t on board for Winston but aye what other options we got besides taysom bill.. ima just call it what it is, rebuild process…… but aye on madden with the saints with Winston at QB I’ve been busting everybody 😂😂😂😂
April 4th, 2021 at 4:47 pm
Lambchop Jamies got Perriman paid as well the little white receiver from Clemson. Without Jamie’s slinging to them they did almost nothing as far as production. I know most fans despise Jamie’s but don’t be surprised if Payton is able to play to Jamies’ strengths and limit his mistakes. Jamie’s can be elite at times and a coach like Payton may be able to get the most out of him.
April 4th, 2021 at 4:48 pm
Jameis! Damn auto correct!
April 4th, 2021 at 4:48 pm
Class act. Great article.
April 4th, 2021 at 5:24 pm
Even though Brees is gone I still despise the Saints, but Kamara seems like a good kid. Is it just me or did he seem to be throwing shade at Payton? All he referenced was the need to be better prepared and an inferior game plan.
April 4th, 2021 at 9:19 pm
Can’t wait for the saints next season. In the past few years we couldn’t buy a sack against Brees, or even force an incomplete. He just owned us. Will be a different ball game this coming season.

This is the most uplifting articles i have seen. So the torch has been past. I respect Alvin Kamara the guy is a flat out stud. I wish we had him and with all of NO’s salary cap woes who knows maybe hes seeing a path out to the Bay. This has to eat in the craw of Sean Peyton to know one of his own players called his team “unprepared” in their last realistic game that gave them chances of making the Superbowl. Hats of Alvin i love people who keep it real and he did that for sure!!!

You don’t know how to be brave till you choose to fight when you’re afraid… And you can’t experience strength till you struggle to carry the weight….. They went through their growing pains and came out of it as one of the best defenses I’ve ever seen in the playoffs!!
