“I Think Tom Brady Is Going To Be The (Second) Quarterback To Go 16-0”
March 16th, 2021A former Bucs backup QB is really, really bullish on the 2021 chances of the Bucs’ starting quarterback.
And that would be Dan Orlovsky of BSPN. He is way hyped for park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady this season.
In fact, Orlovsky, hollering yesterday on “Stay in Bed” is ready to head to Vegas to find a sportsbook that will take bets on Tampa Bay finishing the regular season undefeated.
Orlovsky hollered this claim confident that Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht will be able to keep the Band of Bucs together.
So far Licht has found enough spare Team Glazer loot between the couch pillows to keep, Chris Godwin, Lavonte David, Bucs sack king Shaq Barrett and foot-rubbing, car-littering tight end Rob Gronkowski.
“I think Tom Brady is going to be the [second] quarterback to go 16-0,” Orlovsky said about Brady repeating what he did with the Belicheats with an undefeated season in 2007. “Like a real chance to go 16-0, again. [The Bucs’] schedule is butter soft. They play the NFC East. They play the AFC East. They’re two toughest games will be the Rams and the Buffalo Bills.
“They are going to be favored in just about every game. They will be favored in every single game. Tom Brady is going to be the second quarterback to go 16-0 — or the first quarterback to do it twice.”
Man, going 16-0, Joe doesn’t know about that. Sooner or later a team plays a clunker of a game, no matter how good the team is.
Joe would be more than happy with 13-3, the NFC South division title and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
(FYI, Bob Griese was the starting quarterback of the Dolphins when they won the Super Bowl in 1973 with the only undefeated season in the Super Bowl era. But that was a 14-game regular season schedule and Griese did not start every game as he blew out an ankle and missed several starts.)

Get the #1 seed then rest all starters. Let the coaches play if need be
March 16th, 2021 at 5:07 am
Totally unrealistic expectation. Any team on any Sunday…
Can it happen – yes, but very unlikely. 14-2 and a first seed is definitely realistic, though.
March 16th, 2021 at 5:16 am
Hell no, keeping that record is a hardworking. A SB win is better than 18-1
March 16th, 2021 at 5:29 am
Time to make up for 0-26. 8 wins plus undefeated 2021 = 28 in a row. Beats 26 losses lol. New challenge, Bucs!
March 16th, 2021 at 6:14 am
Aren’t they still talking a 17 game season? So 16-0 would leave 1 final game? So the ultimate goal might have to be 20-0?
March 16th, 2021 at 6:17 am
I dont disagree with the two games – bills and rams no question their biggest challenges. We match up good against bills. Not so much against rams who may be biggest competition in nfc
They need to stay healthy of course but they should be favorites in most games
They will not go undefeated…no way…
But Its not strange to say bucs can be better with same team. Obviously they cannot keep everyone …but keep the main contributors and draft well and fill in a few other veterans who want a ring.
Look how much better our defense got at end in playoffs . Secondary played great considering they gave up booty during regular season. And dont even make vea practice as he needs to play an entire season. Keep him at snap count in games. Glad he got suh’s chef. Maybe he will learn about taking care of his body better.
13 -3 or 14-2 a real possibility. And add another win if 17 game season. Look our division is a train wreck right now. Matt ryan not matty ice anymore and they could be starting a rookie qb….with a new head coach. Carolina just signed 2 oline tackles ive never heard of…and they could be starting a rookie qb…I see saints doing this two headed qb system and not working like payton had drawn up in his head …plus they are still way over cap and may still draft a qb with first pick…and will need to cut more guys.
I hope they let us go to games cause i do not want to miss out on this season.
March 16th, 2021 at 6:20 am
Ndog just got a “who dat” tramp tat on his lower back right above his butt cheeks
March 16th, 2021 at 6:26 am
If I learned anything from last year it’s that going undefeated is only important for 4 weeks in January. The rest is just “preseason” in a sense for Brady.
March 16th, 2021 at 6:27 am
Oh and that 5th week in February too, duh
March 16th, 2021 at 6:55 am
I thought the same thing. I looked for Vegas odds on a perfect season. If the odds were large enough I thought I might bet a couple thousand. But I couldn’t find it.
March 16th, 2021 at 7:07 am
Too much pressure, play for the 2nd ring.
March 16th, 2021 at 7:19 am
The bad thing about being undefeated at the end of the season—you’d WANT to rest your starters in the last couple games….
March 16th, 2021 at 7:22 am
Going 16-0 means they could end up 16-1 at the season’s end. 😉
March 16th, 2021 at 7:23 am
I’m with Leighroy: better to go undefeated in the playoffs…
Remember what a letdown the Pat’s perfect season was…
March 16th, 2021 at 7:27 am
Bird Says:
LOLOL
Bird, you’re killin’ me… 😀 😀 😀
But I figure NDog for a scrote tat…
March 16th, 2021 at 7:37 am
That is exactly the kind of thinking that Brady won’t subscribe to…..and he won’t let the team get complacent or overconfident.
Focus and win the first game…..that will be the only thing in Brady’s mind.
(that’s why he could go 17-0}
March 16th, 2021 at 7:39 am
Even after our superbowl run and Jacksonville’s tank job last year we are still a few percentage points behind them for the worst all time losing percentage in the NFL. Hopefully this will change after next year.
March 16th, 2021 at 7:52 am
I’d rather have our very flawed season that ended with a super bowl victory than the 16-0 Brady had that ended in a super bowl loss.
Everybody has bad days. Even the goat. The trick is to have them during the season and not the post season.
March 16th, 2021 at 7:53 am
20-0 is in the realm of possibility, and would be great. But all that matters is hoisting the Lombardi again in February 2022.
20-0 if there is a 17 game reg Season. Whatever happens, the records Tom had in 2007 are in jeopardy in 2021. Tom threw for 50 TDs and 5600+ yrds in reg and post season combined 2020. That is awesome at any age, let alone 43. GO BUCS!!!!
March 16th, 2021 at 8:06 am
Rams? They still have to get under the cap. Currently $36M over. So settle down on them being one of the best teams we’ll play. Stafford isn’t an upgrade either.
March 16th, 2021 at 8:11 am
No, don’t even try to go 16-0, it’s stupid. That 2007 perfect regular season by New England was a trap. That team beat down the competition repeatedly, but they became to fixated on regular season perfection that they wore down. By late in the regular season and the playoffs you could see exhaustion; it was reflected both by the play and the margin of victory. I honestly thought they looked ragged prior to the Super Bowl loss to the Giants, and was one of the few who was not surprised at the outcome.
First off I don’t see the 2021 Bucs going undefeated. But even if this team has a long run, hope for a regular season loss along the way. It’s a trap, only winning the Super Bowl matters.
March 16th, 2021 at 8:11 am
Good lord people, don’t be that stupid fan talking about an undefeated season. It’s not happening. People were saying the 11-0 Steelers were going undefeated too this year and we saw how that ended up.
I’m excited as everyone else we have kept our most important pieces, but undefeated talk in March is beyond asinine.
March 16th, 2021 at 8:19 am
If you have a chance to go undefeated (not saying they will) but if the opportunity is there, and you have a chance to be f’ing legendary, you take it. Some of you are under the presumption that they will automatically lose in the Super Bowl if they go undefeated in the undefeated. Like this gem of a comment: “winning the Super Bowl is better than going 18-1.” See, now this is what separates good versus great in life. This is exactly the kind of mentality that separates people that wait on a stimulus check from daddy government and those that already make too much to get one because they don’t need it. SCARED OF FAILURE. The mentality of a wet noodle, and it represents most of society. It’s kind of gross actually. I think a lot of you would legitimately rest starters if the Bucs go in to the 17th game at 16-0. There is a difference between winning a Super Bowl and accomplishing something that no one may accomplish ever again. If you have that opportunity, you take it
March 16th, 2021 at 8:38 am
A hot take, and a very stupid one at that. Division games are always tougher than they appear on paper. Falcons aren’t going to be that weak, New Orleans we hopefully destroy both games, and the Panthers could be dangerous too. not to mention any of the other teams on any given week.
March 16th, 2021 at 9:22 am
Brady is already the only quarterback to go 16-0, though they finished 18-1. In that glorious undefeated 17-0 Miami Dolphins season, it was a combination of Bob Griese and Earl Morrall who went 17-0.
March 16th, 2021 at 9:31 am
Orlovsky is Mr. Overreaction. Not too long ago he was questioning the Bucs even making the playoffs, so he can chill. And I’m sure Brady and Arians will dial that waayaaayyyyyy back so the players don’t get fake stars in their eyes.
Meanwhile, SSSSSUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHH – sign the contract, Big Beast.
March 16th, 2021 at 9:33 am
Ridiculous talk. To start this over five months before the season begins is stupid.
March 16th, 2021 at 9:33 am
17-0 is not necessary but it is a nice record to have under the BUCS belt. It drains so much energy for the players leading to the playoff and eventually to the SB. They may have to use Gronk more in a regular season instead of just judiciously letting him play low-key until the post season. It puts extra pressure on everyone. jmho…
March 16th, 2021 at 10:03 am
Fun offseason banter but meaningless. The entire fanbase is in the same boat now… win the Super Bowl or the year is a total bust, especially with so many guys returning and back loaded contracts to ensure the Bucs return to mediocre in a couple of years.
Each week just becomes a checkbox for a regular season that has only two meaningful results – qualify for the playoffs, be healthy in the playoffs.
March 16th, 2021 at 10:07 am
i think brady is going for the undefeated season also….
but the mission is to win SB #8….
GO BUCS!!!!!
March 16th, 2021 at 10:19 am
“the Belicheats”?! Did Brady and Gronk need deflated footballs to bring a Superbowl Championship to Tampa
March 16th, 2021 at 10:27 am
Some of you folks are confusing the process with the goal.
The purpose of the regular season is to prepare the team for the postseason. Nothing more, nothing less. That means pacing the vets, giving playing time to rotational players to see how the pieces fit together, and making sure that the team doesn’t peak too early. Last season’s Bucs team is an excellent example, they experimented with the offense and defense; by the end of the season the coaches and players were all on the same page, without mental or physical exhaustion. It’s no coincidence that the team started to percolate right after the late bye week.
March 16th, 2021 at 10:36 am
Cobraboy/Bird..
Jaboo is just bright enough to put “NOLA” on his forehead.
March 16th, 2021 at 10:42 am
Giesele asked Tom after winning the SB, what do you have to prove (or something to that effect). After the finish the Bucs had to the 2020 season and winning the SB in their own crib, I speculated that perhaps a perfect season might cap off an otherwise unhuman career. Maybe that’s not so far out of the realm of possibilities.
March 16th, 2021 at 11:49 am
Folks, while this talk is fun….
In baseball, when a pitcher has only allowed base runners by walks, errors or hit by pitch, you NEVER say the words of what that is.
At the beginning of the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl when my brother asked to bring out the champagne.. he was properly chastised for such a comment.
Let it go and don’t mention it again until mid February 2022.
March 16th, 2021 at 11:50 am
The Bucs do weird crap. Like:
Going 0-26 then making it to the NFC Championship game their 4th year.
Beating an arch rival to close the rival’s old stadium in the NFC Championship game, and to open their new one to start the next season.
Hiring a new head coach and going to the Super Bowl his first year AND facing his former team.
Getting the best QB ever, having zero offseason, no preseason, but winning it all AT HOME as the first team to ever host and play in the Super Bowl.
So given their proclivity for weirdness, I say the Bucs go undefeated next year, up to an including the Super Bowl.
March 16th, 2021 at 11:56 am
79 Defense:
That’s what we do here. And SB win way more important than undefeated. Yes
March 16th, 2021 at 12:02 pm
THIS WILL BLOW YOUR MIND
Most Wins by Bucs QB All Time
Dilfer – 38
Williams – 33
Winston – 28
Brady currently has 15. If we go 16-0, he’ll be #3. He’d be #2 if we won the SB. If he plays next year, he’s practically guaranteed to have the #1 most wins by a Buccaneers QB all time!
That’s CRAZY!
March 16th, 2021 at 1:50 pm
Rams and Bills are definitely the toughest games on the schedule.
Washington and Bears could be sneaky tough because of defense.
Miami and the Saints (if they get a good quarterback play) could be tough.
Split those six and they’re 13-3.
If they bring it every game and start out stronger on offense and defense ( at the beginning of the season and per game) , they absolutely have a chance to win all of them.
Pretty crazy that I can say that and it’s reasonable… Who would’ve thought that 2 to 3 years ago?!?
March 16th, 2021 at 4:51 pm
’79 Defense. You’re right, but so was the preseason talk of the Bucs playing the SB in their home stadium after signing Mr. Brady.
March 16th, 2021 at 5:52 pm
I like it.. im not going into this season expecting any losses
March 16th, 2021 at 11:28 pm
Damien Williams got released bKC, that’d be a nice pickup
March 17th, 2021 at 11:08 am
There’s only 16 regular season games if bucs are 16-0 it will take 3 playoff wins to win super bowl so 19-0 since when is there 17 regular season games theres 17 weeks with a a bye but 16 games if it comes down to it you gotta go for it bucs better equipped to get it done if we can run the ball and play good defense just saying
March 17th, 2021 at 11:11 am
Say Brady wins 4 super bowls in 4 years with the bucs who does he go into Canton as
March 22nd, 2021 at 6:59 pm
Haha I have to laugh at all the 16, 17 or 20 and 0 bs flying around here now. A few months back we were thrilled at the possibility of 9/7 or 10/6 regular season let alone a Super Bowl game. Being the Super Bowl Champs puts a huge target on your back. Every team we play has already put a circle around that game and will be hyped to knock us off. What bigger motivation than knocking off the SB Champs! Will Brady stay healthy all season? One low hit to the knees and who replaces him? Look I was a big fan of the Popsickles from year one. I still have the DVD of Chucky’s Super Bowl win. Like many of you I remember more Packer fans at our home games and lots of empty seats. But we stuck with them all those losing years! So we deserve some euphoria this off season. And can’t wait for the preseason to begin. So I pray to the football gods that Brady and other key players stay healthy and that we make the playoffs with at least a 10/6 or 11/7 regular season and a win another SB. I will be almost 80 then. And I don’t buy green bananas. Like all those Bucs who never know if the next game is their last, I don’t know either. But if I’m still breathing I will be watching!!!! GO BUCS!!!
