“The Bucs Are Not Done Making Their Push For Lavonte David”

Now this is a fantastic video example of a media guy getting a nasty text from a seven-figure power broker in Tampa.
NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo recently reported on air his confidence that Bucs Super Bowl-winning linebacker Lavonte David will leave the team in free agency. Joe shared the report early this morning, but it appears it was worth as much as a Doug Martin run in 2017.
Garafolo went on the air today to explain how and why he screwed up. It was a poor but oddly heartfelt explanation.
The video is below and Joe got a good laugh — even watched it twice with an ice cold Wavemaker Amber Ale from Big Storm Brewery.
Today, Garafolo is convinced “the Bucs are not done making their push for Lavonte David,” who is a pending free agent.

Sure hope we can come to terms. He has to make the Pro Bowl and All Pro as a Buc next year.

Guys were coming here last year just to have a chance to play with Brady. Now that Brady proved he can win a superbowl here why would anyone want to go to Cleveland for a little more money???? At least not LD who’s played here his entire pro career.

It may not be the wisest…..but I think we have to find a way to bring LVD back…..he is the heart of the defense…..makes a big difference with White…..he’s a Buc through & through……and I do think he stays for less than he would receive elsewhere…..
It will mean someone else departs…….so be it!!!

I to am getting tired of the FA seesaw. If some leave other FA’s will want to come to win. The ultimate goal is to make money like any job but these guys are athletes and initially when they started playing it was about winning. That competitiveness never goes away. Unless you’re a complete douche you play to win for your team, so Brady’s influence and the Bucs team newfound synergy will entice other elite FA’s to buy in.

He’s professional and humble and knows how good this team is. He’s not saying how he’s gonna “break the bank” in FA. I don’t know if I’ve heard anything except Cleveland is interested from who knows where.
Like Godwin, highly doubt Lavonte is going to leave this team for a little bit more money. LVD is already loaded and has made a home in Tampa and the community.
I think they’ll give him a respectable offer both sides can agree on.

I really don’t think LVD is going anywhere. Godwin looks like a franchise tag, which surprises me but they’ll have more money to get a long-term deal next year.
Suh and Gronk seem like easy signs because neither are looking to break the bank they just want another push at the Super Bowl with Brady.
Stinnie and Minter worry me because both are outstanding backups. They may both walk and then we’re looking at you from the draft to replace them which just depletes the depth.
Shaq! Is the biggest issue. He is the one player they absolutely must sign to a four-year deal.
Yes, they can blitz to get pressure and they have JPP but Shaq has proven himself and with him they are so versatile because they get pressure with just the 4. You just cannot underestimate the value of that enough. They haven’t had someone like him sense of Rice left over a decade ago.
Extend Brady a year. Restructure Smith. Restructure Gholston. They may have to trade Brate. If they do those things then maybe, just maybe, they’re able to keep a Shaq as well but so far I am getting real nervous that he is going to leave.
To me, he was the number one priority. After a franchise quarterback an elite edge rusher is everything.

The reason we will repeat is lavonte David. There’s so much he and white do.
Cover TE , blitz , run , RB coverage etc. etc. and feed of each other.
David and white are very valuable. So much More than just shaq needed help to get to the QB.
David is a future HOF

Watched the NFL Network for a few years Dumbo as I call him the elephant with the ears is wrong about 80% of the time. If you listened to him pre Super Bowl you would have mortgaged your house and put it on KC.

I know this team watched the decade of no 10 digit sacks, but that was pre Bowles.
