Report: No Schedule Release Until Mid-May
March 4th, 2021Serious NFL fans know the annual schedule-release day is a true national holiday.
And it’s of particular interest this year from Tarpon Springs to Temple Terrace and beyond.
Why? Because the Bucs are Super Bowl champions, baby, and every fan wants to know who Tampa Bay will host at The Licht House on opening night of the 2021 season.
Also, Bucs tickets will be in demand like it’s 2003, and fans are hungry to make plans for games and parties and traveling to road games.
Unfortunately, the traditional pre-NFL-draft release of the schedule is expected to be a mid-May affair, per Sports Business Journal (via ProFootballTalk.com). Apparently, the NFL and TV networks — they craft the schedule together — need more time to consider which stadiums will have fans and which ones will not.
Also, the NFL is waiting on approval of a 17-game season, which will make life tougher for the schedule makers. (Allegedly, the Bucs will be on the road at Indianapolis for their additional game).
Joe’s just sad about waiting for the announcement. Nothing makes the next Bucs season feel more real — and close — than the first look at the new schedule.

I wanna take a few days off and drive down from VA for a game, dying to see schedule and seating

Yah. I guess we are getting the shaft and getting the odd 17th game as away game.

I wonder how many league games will be in London.

I like the idea of a 17th game to be honest. Playing the Colts last will be an awesome game. Looking forward to this upcoming season. Go Bucs!!!

Cobraboy: should be zero IMO. I’m so over the international games bull$hit

Far as I’m concerned, adding a 17th game is BS. For Super Bowl players to make it through 20 games is really tough I’m sure; having to make it through 21 games will be that much tougher. And for any team that goes into the playoffs beaten up, odds are they’re toast.

If they yank a useless preseason game, won’t be as bad as it could have been

The 17th game should be at a neutral site. Let them play in states that don’t have teams, but have a decent enough college stadium.

Supposedly, there will only be 3 preseason games instead of 4.

Boooooo.
I need my TB12 schedule fix. And I really want the Patriots game to be on a Sunday night, not a Monday night.

No freaking way Colonel Angus. They owe us one more home game as world champs and not a full stadium last season.

18 games, two bye weeks, two pre season games.

Does this Super Bowl team get a White House snub like our 02 team?
March 4th, 2021 at 7:31 pm
So pissed I had to miss the Detroit game, I go everytime they are in Michigan since 2007… planning on going to opening day or at Panthers this year

@snook
not sure what happened in 2003 but if things had gone differently with the election last year it’d be the team snubbing the white house but since molester joe is president, all is rainbows & lollipops and nobody will be shamed/attacked/canceled for excepting an invitation if it’s there
