Mike Tomlin Sticks Up For Raheem The Dream

Former Bucs defensive backs coach and current Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is tight with Raheem the Dream. The two talk often.
Possibly sensing how the embattled Bucs head coach is getting hammered by fans worse than roofing nails, Tomlin, at the NFL owners meetings in Orlando, came out swinging for his friend, so reports Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune.
Tomlin believes if Bucs fans can be patient, Raheem the Dream will turn things around.
“It’s like it is with a second-year player,’’ Tomlin said Tuesday at the NFL owners meetings. “You’ve had a lap around the track, and so there’s no element of the journey that you’re not familiar with. I think prior to the first year you have a vision of the journey, a vision of your plan. And after your first year you’ve got tangible evidence of why it works and maybe why it doesn’t. That’s information that can be quality information for you if you’re sharp, and Raheem is sharp. So I imagine he’ll be better in 2010.’’
That may be true, but let’s be honest: Joe has a difficult time believing that Vince Lombardi and Bill Walsh could win many games when your top returning receiver was tied for No. 130 in the league in catches, your starting safety is Sabby the Goat and the returning defense was ranked last in the league in against the run.

Lets see what the draft yields efore we bury the bucs.They may have some big surprises up their sleeves.

Lombardi and Walsh wouldn’t allow the offense to have Sammy as your most-productive receiver. Both were known to lean on management and ownership for acquiring and paying quality players.
Correct – Raheems alleged improved defense post-Bates finished dead last in the league against the run and the passing yardage numbers are thus artificially low due to the success teams had running.
This team will not fulfill potential unless appropriate leaders are put in place.

All i can say is that Mr. Dominik better have one hell of a draft.
Then again the 49ers fired their GM yesterday. Can’t we do the same? While were at it, tell the head chest thumper to pack his bags too.
Maybe Brooks would like to be head coach. Il bet he could pull together a better staff than the dream has and a legit free agent or two.

Remember that all the while That Morris and the Bucs are an opponent of Tomlin…… Good strategy as I see it….. Talk up Morris in hopes that the Bucs will continue to keep him as HC so that the Bucs are 1 less team that Tomlin and the Steelers have to have any concern about!!!
1 less team to have to prepare for!!!

Dominick is going to have a killer draft. He will get 7 starters, DT, S, CB, WRx2, FB, P. Hopefully an MLB & a DE too.
As a fan, I’m really proud of Freeman, putting in the work, when he could be playing. I hope he is everything Raheem says. He showed real promise at times last season. I mean, the few times he got it rolling, it was rocking.
Now if they can just STOP the run, it’s ON! Fire!

Wow, That must be some really good stuff BigMac is on! As for Morris getting better this year, how can you get better at something you never knew how to do in the first place? The dream is an amatuer playing at being a Head Coach until the Glazers decide to hire the “real” thing.
