“That Was Todd”
February 8th, 2021Look, we are all human. Even reporters are on a big stage at a Super Bowl.
So Joe will somewhat give an unknown reporter a pass for pulling a bad mistake (not quite as bad as an NFL moderator in a Zoom conference last week, painfully mispronouncing the name of Kansas City TV sports anchor Harold Kuntz).
Hey, we are all human.
Joe is guessing this unknown reporter was crunched for time on deadline and noticed a Bucs coordinator was speaking and didn’t know he was directing a question about stopping Pat Mahomes to Byron Leftwich, the Bucs’ offensive coordinator.
Leftwich handled this beautifully. Initially, Leftwich seemed like he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Then it seemed Leftwich thought he was not supposed to be interviewed at that time and was looking around like he lost something.
“To shut Pat Mahomes down?” Leftwich began, himself looking confused. “I think you have the wrong guy. I had nothing to do with that. That was Todd.”
And then Leftwich let out a belly laugh.
On a night like last night, there probably wasn’t any sort of insult that would have gotten under Leftwich’s skin enough to get him to quit smiling.
🚨🚨MUST SEE🚨🚨
OMG a reporter thought Byron Leftwich was Todd Bowles!!!!

That is like one of those, “do you need to get away?” Commercials.

He should’ve said my key was to have my offense score more. That’s how you shut him down

LOL nice, —-
Question is, which defense had a better game??
Last night’s Defense, or the 2000 team against the Raiders????
Funny to think about, but statistically this 2020 team had a better night, minus all the interception returns for TDs of course

Handled gracefully by BL. today feels the day after Christmas… and you got everything you wanted. Go Bucs!

BL AND BOWLES WORKED MAGIC
Bucs are the only team with 3 HCs on the staff…
GO BUCS

Funny stuff. It was easier for BL to laugh it off because they won. Had they lost I think we maybhave heard some colorful language.
The defensive stand wouldn’t have likely happened if the Bucs hadn’t played the Chefs in November. The same thing with the hated Saints. Facing your playoff opponents in the regular season helps you prepare a lot. Doubtful Bowles would have had anywhere near the same game plan in those games. Sean Payton and Tyreek Hill may deserve a team ring. I know I would send them a Thank You card for sure.

Did the reporter actually say “your guyses”?!

Ohio BUC FAN — loved your description of waking up today. . .and getting everything we ever wanted. This win is just plain amazing.
What part of Ohio are you from? I’m a Cincy girl. Not too many Bucs fans in these parts.

Embarrassing, it seems like this reporter was still confused by the end of this clip, would love to have seen a few more seconds , did BL just ask for another question or did he tell him who he was .
See this all the time with National talking heads, they really don’t know the players or recognize the faces.
This am on GMFB with the gorgeous Kay Adam’s, Michael Robinson was filling in for Nate and didn’t know our two safeties. Surprisingly he could come up with Whiteheads name but was stuck and needed help with Winfield.
The entire group had to look up who number 88 was but that is more understandable.

That goes back to the whole “all black people look alike” syndrome.

Just watched this clip.
Right before that, the person who handles selecting the next reporter also called him Bryan instead of Byron…
no respect.
