Yesterday it was announced that former Bucs great John Lynch was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2021. A richly deserved honor.
Could Bucs star receiver Mike Evans join him some day?
Evans enters his first Super Bowl tonight. He’s already done something no other receiver in the history of the NFL has accomplished: 1,000-or more yards in each of his first seven seasons.
It would certainly help Evans’ Hall of Fame hopes if he has a big game tonight in a Bucs win. Any time a borderline Hall of Fame player balls out in a Super Bowl, his stock rises that much more.
Below, the NextGen Stats data show Evans’ best routes and that he is one of the best receivers in the game.
Would it be fair to suggest if Evans has three touchdowns, the Bucs are likely to win?

I don’t care if any receiver goes over 100yds, this offense is so balanced that it don’t matter! I’m predicting at least 3 passing TDs and at least 2 rushing TDs…could be wrong though. TB12 is due for a 4-5 passing TD game!! Gonna show dem Chiefs who the real GOAT is and who the better team is. THE BUCS ARE SICK OF HEARING ABOUT STOPPING THE CHIEFS…GONNA SHOW THEM HOW NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE IT IS TO STOP THE BUCS!!!!

Hof talk already on a current wr. Ugh. Evans is worried about helping his team win. Weekly. Just win baby and the rest will come. Ask Lynch. He didnt have a huge sb yet the win helped him in.

Mike Evans has already made the HOF assuming he plays another 3-4 years at anything close to the level he has displayed thus far.

The world is going to find out a LOT about all of our skill players tonight.
The fact that Devin White didn’t get selected for a Pro Bowl is going to be added fuel for him this game. Brady is right, they don’t play for the Pro Bowl, but it’s damn sure fuel to get that Super Bowl. I would hate to be Kelce going across the middle tonight. He gonna get his bell rung!

Who cares? Evan’s need to step his game up, he’s been a bit off lately. Not sure if it’s a lack of synergy with him and Brady because of limited practices, I see a lot of Godwin and Johnson today. Nothing would make me happier than Scotty post blowing right by Mathieu, I’m tired of listening to his crap. I do believe more KC players slept last night than Bucs.

Every TD, Catch, Yard, that happens is just part of Mikes journey to one day put on a Hall of Fame Jacket. It is just a matter of time. Great player, in the good and the bad times for this team, Mike has been a good citizen for the Bucs. GO BUCS!!!

True, watching NFL Network last night, all one hears is how unstoppable the Maholmes/Kelsey/Hill trio is. While there is no doubt if you combine the numbers of their Big 3 it probably is the most productive in the NFL.
But in the biggest game in the world, a team is what wins, the team that is most in it together can overcome 3 top players at their positions if they work together and don’t make mistakes.
The Bucs front 7 is the best in the NFL, with Vea back in the starting lineup and having fresh legs, it is an X factor that the media nor the average NFL fan would have any clue about.
If the Bucs front seven on defense balls like they did vs Saints and Packers and their back end can not be beat on deep easy receptions, I believe it will be a shock to all the fans around the world when they watch a Buc team win the game in the trenches. Same for the offense, Smith, Marpet, Jensen and Wirfs have the ability to hold up the Chiefs defensive pass rush. I think the Bucs will be ready for those blitzes that got through in the first game.
Win at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and it doesn’t matter that KC has the 3 best players at their positions, its still a team game in the playoffs, the individual highlight plays don’t overcome dominant line play.

Oh and by the way, when the ball hits Mike Evans hands tonight, I expect him to catch it, no excuses, he’s been playing 7 years to get on this stage, its time for him to make those catches downfield that he’s done for years. He had a very easy ball to catch for a 40 yard gain vs Packers on the right sideline that hit him right in the hands.
The effort on the tipped ball that led into that interception was blamed on Brady for the high throw but Mike has to lay his body out for those balls and sky for it.
Mike and Scotty Miller are the Bucs main deep threats and Scotty has shown better concentration on those deep throws than Mike has. C’mon Mike sharpen it up and be ready because Brady isn’t going to hold the ball for you to be wide open. Be aware, that ball comes in fast and you have to be looking for it at all times.

Evans was too much for KC to handle late in the last game and he’s just a huge mismatch. The Bucs will find a way to get him involved early and often.

If Evans is one-on-one, you throw the ball high and let him get it, or make sure it’s an incompletion. It doesn’t matter if Evans is open or not – the reason he gets paid so much money is because it doesn’t matter if he’s open or not, he catches the ball. Brady doesn’t do that nearly enough in my opinion. Of course we’re in the SB so it’s hard to argue with anything Brady has done, but if the Bucs are down, forcing the ball to Evans in 1-on-1 situations, should be a key to a comeback. Just make sure the ball is high.
