“He’s Pretty Much Totally Hands-Off”
February 6th, 2021Remember when a report emerged two years ago that Team Glazer was uneasy and possibly troubled because Bucco Bruce Arians was not going to call plays?
Well, more evidence has emerged that Team Glazer was needlessly stressed.
Joe’s written plenty about CEO-style head coach Arians. But it was interesting to hear a take from an Arians insider who himself found it “shocking” how far Arians has stepped away from the action and his former ways.
Goodwin was asked during a news conference about how, if at all, Arians is different than he was in Arizona.
“He’s pretty much totally hands-off,” assistant head coach Harold Goodwin said of Arians.
“You know, he has an input here or there, but for the most part he lets us coach, he lets us do what we want to do. If he doesn’t like anything, or likes something in particular he may say it. Or he may say change it to this or that. For the most part — and it’s been shocking to me as well just knowing how much he loves to call plays — he’s been hands off. He’s letting Byron do what he wants to do. And it’s been very successful.”
Joe will say it again. All this bodes very well for Arians actually finishing his five-year Bucs contract.
If you love the game, can delegate authority successfully, make mountains of cash while surrounded by friends on your staff, and enjoy being a Sage motivator with a legendary quarterback, then why retire?

Hope you are right in this assessment.

90% of stuff goes ok on autopilot, he just deals with the 10% that doesn’t

I’m pretty sure he had something to say about the secondary after the Washington game

I think the most incredible thing about this team is THE SHIFT that was made after our late-season Bye Week.
What happened during that Bye Week!?
I’d be so curious to know where their focus was. This team really turned things around in many areas at that Bye Week. We’re undefeated since that time.
Ironically, the Bye Week came after the Chiefs had beaten us and embarrassed us in that 1st half.
As many said, this team just needed more time to gel together and now they’re peaking at the end of the season.
THINK ABOUT THIS…
How good can this team get next year??
With another camp of practice and even adding a few more players in free agency, maybe a Vet corner. Draft some more pass rushers like a young stud to play next to Vea to take over for Suh. This team could become even more dangerous.
Who knows… a win tomorrow could be the first of 2 or 3 Super Bowls in a row if Brady wants to keep playing.

So much for everyone complaining about Arians in his golf cart. Seems to me that the man has hired a staff that he implicitly trusts, all the while wanting them to get head coaching opportunity’s. This league needs more of this type of coach.

IF we win tomorrow, you can BET our coaching staff will get raided.

Let .me start by cogratulste Coach Arians for remaing patient during the team’s maturation. process think immediately lolllowing the Chicago loss is when the team began to understand their potential. Since that time every player knew the oppotunity along with the obstacles which they would Face in order to reach the Goal they set at the beginning

If we have a good HC in waiting like Lefty, I would hope BA would step back rather than us lose him to another team. Arians is the CEO, make him team president, that’s what he is anyway, and give the HC title to Lefty.
