Being an offensive line coach in Tampa is one of the easiest O-line gigs in the NFL for a few reasons.
First, the line is loaded with talent.
And don’t forget experience. The Bucs have been a top-10 offense (total yards) for the past four seasons, and Ali Marpet and Donovan Smith have been starters through all of it. Ryan Jensen, 29, has a three-year tenure since arriving from Baltimore.
Then there’s the matter of the Bucs completely sharing the job of offensive line coach. Harold Goodwin takes guards and centers and Joe Gilbert handles the tackles. They even split other duties.
Throw in Tom Brady, and could the gig get easier?
“He gets a lot out of my offensive line to the point I don’t have to yell at all,” Goodwin said this week. “He does all the yelling.”
Goodwin added that he and Brady had a 30-minute FaceTime soon after Brady was signed to discuss run-game philosophy, protections and more. And he said Brady has done a great job adopting “some stuff of mine he likes” and vice versa.
It’s fair to say every coach’s job on Arians’ giant staff got easier when Brady arrived, especially on defense. And Joe has no hesitation thinking it will improve next season.

We need to get pressure with our front four and let our back 8 mix it up with coverages. Blitzing Mahomes is just too dangerous. On offense we need long, time-consuming drives ending with TDS. That is the game plan.

I remember a huge game decades ago with the Rams vs Cowboys, Rams played the whole game with a 4-7…won I think
