FALSE

Hall of Famer speaks.

Here’s the thing about these hollering shows on TV you see all day and night on sports networks: If everyone agrees, it’s boring TV.

And so with that in mind, Joe wonders how fully sincere Hall of Fame running back Terrell Davis is or if he’s just sticking up for fellow running backs?

Last night on “Total Access,” seen nightly on NFL Network, a sort of “True or False” game played. One question asked whether Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire will have a bigger impact on the Bucs defense than Cheetah Hill.

Davis strongly believed CEH will ball out against the Bucs.

Now hold up! The Bucs have the best run defense in the NFL. And oh by the way, look who showed up off injured reserve last week, arguably the best nose tackle in the game, Vita Vea.

One of the NFL’s best runners, Dalvin Cook, barely broke 100 yards against the Bucs (he had 102). Hell, CEH may not even play. He’s dealing with a hip injury and just this week returned to practice in full participation.

Sure, CEH is dangerous if ignored, but nah man, he won’t have the same impact against the Bucs defense as Cheetah.

If CEH remotely comes close to 100 yards, Joe will take a step out on a plank and suggest the Bucs may be in deep sh!t.

You can see DeAngelo Hall and Davis hash out various Super Bowl subjects in the NFL Network video below.

  1. David Says:

CEH Might be involved with the passing game if they’re able to cover Kelce and double Hill but that’s about it.

  2. Dewey Selmon Says:

TD is on the same level as Steve Smith when it come to talking. hit the mute button cause you gonna feel dumber after listening to them.

  3. Bird Says:

Yah. Its just like michael irving talking about receivers

And ray lewis on inside nfl only wanting to talk about defense

I agree. He aint running on us. Maybe some screens

  4. Listnfrmafar Says:

Not a fan of Davis, Mr. One & Done. Interesting theory though? Gotta believe Bucs are focusing on KC passing game, may overlook the run.

  5. Demetrios Says:

I’d be shocked if CEH has an above average game let alone a good game. We’ve faced much better backs this year. CEH was not a big part of this offense other than the Bills regular season game. He has been an afterthought for their offense the majority of the year. He was the worst pick on my fantasy team this year.

  6. Buc4evr Says:

He’s a know nothing Donk from the AFC West. Another NFL network clown used to fill a time slot. They better use CEH to try to block… Meh..

  7. ClodHopper Says:

TD Like LT always says the RB is the most important player. Pretty sure that is in their contract lol

About those hollering shows: I remember many many moons ago watching the four letter and Sean Salsbury was debating John Clayton. Sean got pissed and called John Skeletor. That was a huge turn off. Their jobs are to disagree and Sean still couldn’t handle the fact someone disagreed with him. That was the day I realized its all phony and very rarely even give them the time of day any more. NFL Newtork is a little more civilized than the four letter and FS1 IMO. I always catch the last few seconds of the Shannon Sharp show when I start cowturd and i freaking hate it!

  8. Pewter Power Says:

I guess he’s going to ball out in the passing game because they are missing lineman but they are going to do something in the run game? Doubt they’ll waste many downs trying to run on us

  9. Rod Munch Says:

A stat from the fantasy world, the Bucs defense, while easily the top rushing defense, gave up more fantasy points to RB’s in the passing game than anyone. I really don’t remember that being an issue, but that’s the stat I heard repeatedly at the end of the year. So Clyde, who coming out of college, was thought of as a pass catcher, could play a big role. However, the Chiefs really didn’t use him that much as a pass catcher, that’s where Bell and Williams were used. In any case Bell, who isn’t what he was, can catch the ball really well – and I assume they’re going to mix up who is in the game, so I’m not sure why anyone would think any of their 3 backs will have a big game since they’ll all take away from the others stats. It seems unlikely.

  10. August 1976 Buc Says:

The Cheetah was a 200 yard 1st Qtr problem. The Bucs will handle the run. It is getting Mahomes jersey dirty from being knocked on the ground, and just overall pressure, that is a bigger deal so their passing game does not go wild. And like Gruden said about the running game keeping Mahomes off the field. GO BUCS!!!

  11. D-Rome Says:

The Bucs have the best run defense in the NFL. And oh by the way, look who showed up off injured reserve last week, arguably the best nose tackle in the game, Vita Vea.

I don’t think there is any argument any more. He is the best!

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Devin White will cover Kelce……shadow Mahomes……smother CEH & perhaps drop into coverage on Hill….(Same Play)…….the man is ubiquitous.

  13. SlyPirate Says:

    I HOPE HE’S RIGHT!

CEH isn’t rushing for 100 yards, so it’d be great if Hill did even less.

No one is talking about their TE. He’ll be a problem.

  14. DerrickBrooksGOATLB Says:

    – Bucs are allowing 81 rush YPG to opponents on the season which is #1 in the NFL by a decent margin

    – CEH is averaging 62 rush YPG on the season but only 38 YPG in his last eight games

    – CEH has averaged 4+ YPG just twice since November

    – KC will be missing Eric Fisher

So Terrell Davis, tell me again why he’s going to gash us for 100+ on Sunday? As our POTUS would say – come on man!

  15. Brad Says:

They’re going to throw screens to CEH.

  16. John Says:

I have seen too many sports to say for sure something will or will not happen….but how is there any evidence for this prediction? Without Vita Vea and with Erich Fisher! in Week 12 CEH gained 37 yards rushing and 2 yards receiving.

Sure it’s possible CEH breaks a run somewhere but the likelihood of him taking over the game just seems silly.

  17. David Says:

Like I said at the top, not a chance he’s going to run loose. There is a chance their RBs get used in the passing game, especially if we are getting a lot of pressure with just a 4 man rush.
If he is a big part of their passing game then that probably means Kelce and Hill are being contained, I’ll take it !

  18. David Says:

As for Terrell Davis, loved him as a player but he does not belong in the Hall of Fame. His career was cut short because of injury. That is a shame, but that’s the reality of it. He played 7 years but most of his stats are from the first 4, I think he played a total of 15 or 16 games the last 3 years because of his knee.
Extremely impressive numbers in those first 4 years but we have seen a ton of RBs do great for a few years and then fade off. Because of that I never understood why he was give the benefit of the doubt and put in the Hall of Fame.

  19. Buxszntkt Says:

I think Terrell Davis drew the short straw ! Someone had to make the absurd argument for the so called “entertainment value” of their show. Keeps their paychecks coming.

  20. Buxszntkt Says:

Is LT still on NFL network ? That dude is the worst speaker , he needs to take some speech lessons as most of these guys have.

  21. adam from ny Says:

they’re gonna stuff CEH’s sheet and run him backwards like a car in reverse

  22. lambchop Says:

The Bucs are going to overlook the run? LMAO. That’s the best part of this defense. There is no overlooking sheeet with Vita, Suh, David, White, and Minter. We are stout in the middle.

We just have to keep Cheetah, Hardman, and Kelce in front of us. They will eat, we just have to limit how much. If we’re sleeping on anyone, it might be Sammy Watkins if he comes back at least 90%. Our secondary has to show up like it’s the last game of their career. And I expect JPP to eat a LOT. That man is gonna come out and maul that backup LT. I think it’ll be huge if JPP runs amok on that dude or if they have to give too much attention to the left side creating opportunities in the middle or for Sack Barrett.

How the Chiefs OL respond will decide the game.
