Bruce Arians Says Bucs-Packers, Bucs-Saints Film Was Ignored
February 2nd, 2021Interesting detail shared by Tampa Bay’s fearless leader, Bucco Bruce Arians.
The head coach visited CBS Sports Radio this week and explained that in preparing for landmark playoff victories at New Orleans and at Green Bay, the Bucs refused to watch film of their October and November games against those same clubs.
Not worth it, Arians said. “We didn’t even look at them because the [Saints and Packers had] changed so much.”
Had Green Bay and New Orleans really changed that much since their midseason games against the Bucs? That’s up for debate, but Arians’ approach obviously worked.
The Bucs have changed a little since playing the Chiefs just after Thanksgiving, per Arians, but the Chiefs are the same team. So Arians said he believes the film from their matchup is filled with valuable info.
Arians gushed about what the Bucs did in the final three quarters to mount a comeback against Kansas City. If nothing else, if the Bucs are watching their success late against the Chiefs, at least they’ll go into Sunday’s Super Bowl extremely confident.

I’d like to see an article on one of our biggest Unsung Hero’s, Ryan Succup.
Two things I would like to see on Sunday. 1) Someone besides Mickens returning kicks and punts and 2) Anyone besides Haeg blocking on the right side of the line on XPs and FGs. Every game the rushers on that end are getting so close to blocking a kick, it is amazing it hasn’t been talked about here.

No articles on Succup
Let him stay unsung

Cleanhouse: I think the Joe’s have been really good about that and doing their part. Off the subject: just now on NFLN NFL explained: Road to the HOF Ira was featured talking in the HOF voting room. Pretty cool

I’m not so sure the game plan for KC was full throttle after the 1st quarter. Hence, it may not be relevant either.
To me what is relevant is White playing like a demon dog. Vea in the middle disrupting.
If everything else holds par, we have a great chance to beat KC.
Go Bucs!
In BA I Trust!

Work-life has been insane – but have been following JBF. So just now able to post thoughts….FWIW.
Bucs vs Chiefs, with Bucs at “home” story…
– Dream game for networks – Old vs New (Brady vs Mahomes)
– Best vs Best > Best NFC vs AFC team
For us Buccaneer fans: Why we win?
– O line peaking
– Brady peaking
– ME13 will own the game
– D knows what to expect from Chiefs ( to S-L -O- W) the Hill and Kelce.
– Freaking HOME GAME????
Getcha popcorn ready, my Bucs peers – my score predication you can all make fun of later – Bucs 44 – Chiefs 41…..

NO KICKER TALK

I guess the Bucs also ignored the Saints-Bears tape, since the Saints ran the exact same gadget play that the Bears pulled on the Saints, with Winston throwing for a cheap TD. SMDH.

So here is something interesting… Just saw the skills comp at pro bowl in 2003 (like the week right after our 2002 season superbowl win). Guess who won it? And guess who the runner up was? Was by a very narrow margin

Much respect for Andy Reid and Eric B. to Game Plan vs. our D. This game could be Bowles “finest moment” to counter-plan and stifle the Chiefs/Mahomes offense. Hard ask of Bowles…but he is ready…
Game outcome might be defined less by Bucs D — and more by Bucs Offense. We have the GOAT. Key will be “Brady pocket time” allowed by Oline.
Byron – this is your ultimate stage to be future HC at Bucs…

No…My vote is that the Bucs look at the game with KC, especially a certain TE & receiver! How could that game be ignored?

Bucs 38 chiefs 21

Not sure ignoring past footage is a good thing. Might want to know how personal matched up. I get GB because you wouldn’t expect to spank them again but gotta believe NO wanted to use some of the tactics that help them spank Bucs and where Bucs failures were. If they are ignoring the last Chiefs game tape that’s no good game prep. They should also look at the Atlanta game to see what they did. I understand KC probably to Atlanta lightly but at some point they had to realize they could potentially lose and play harder. Not watching tape is lazy and stupid.

I think as a team the Bucs ignored the game films, but the coaching staff watched the films on their own for personnel matchups and mismatches. Team had good game plans for both those games. Can’t wait for the big game Sunday!!! Go Bucs!!!

What the coaches should watching is the KC new england game. The Patriots defense was basically built to stop KC. Triple hill if you have to. Make sure that douche Kelsey is pounded at the line. So many of these teams give him a free release. The officials usually allow more contact in the sup bowl. Take advantage and pound them. That includes mahomes, he wants to be a running back? Treat him like it, flags be damned. He’s the biggest flopper in the game, you might as well get your money worth

Arians said that KC has not changed so they will watch that tape!

The afc championship game patriots vs chiefs is the game to watch, hightower punished kelce at the line of scrimmage every route he ran and hill was covered by their speediest corner with safety help, everyone else held their own one on one against their receivers for the most part
