Lavonte David Gives Update On His Hamstring

February 2nd, 2021

Five days from Super Bowl kickoff, Lavonte David didn’t offer an inspiring up date on his injury.

After the Bucs’ knocked off Green Bay last week, David appeared on the first injury report with a hamstring injury. The seriousness of it is unclear, on the heels of David starting every game this season.

Today, David held a news conference and served up the following on his hammy.

“I’m just taking it one day at a time, man, trusting the training staff, just getting better and better day by day, and on Sunday we’ll see how everything go.”

Damn, Joe would have preferred to hear David, an upbeat kind of guy, issue a more positive outlook.

The Bucs had a walk-through practice today, and will be on the field for more traditional practices on Wednesday and Thursday.

*THE* biggest game of his career. Maybe, he’s using a little deception?

  2. Mike Says:

If his leg is still attached, he’s going to play.

  3. Mitch Says:

    Gamesmanship.

  4. buxsxntkt Says:

geez Joe, every article you post has another injury ! Winfield, Whitehead, Brown, LVD !

  5. Listnfrmafar Says:

Hamstrings can take months to heal. Trusting the training staff meaning he has no idea, doesn’t sound all that positive.

  6. SB Says:

I am with you Mike. Zero chance that he misses this game. Dude is a football warrior

  7. buxsxntkt Says:

he won’t miss the game but if the hammy is f-ed the hammy is f-ed, just can’t run full speed or have the rapid burst speed. We will know very quickly whether LVD is 100%.

In other random news, if it really rains with wind gusts up to 20 mph or whatever it is, that would be really lame and make for a horrible game. Bad weather makes for bad football, period. Superbowls are played in Florida for a reason – WEATHER. Bucs fans get this gift, this moment in history and it could POUR? Just beyond lame

  9. SB Says:

Hey if it really rains with wind gusts up to 20 miles an hour or more then this game goes ground and pound. If the game is ground and pound we have won before it even starts

  10. AlV Says:

He’s fine guys. He’s gonna play, Arians said as such. AB also posted a insta story of his SB jersey so he’s playing as well.

  11. JayBucsBoi Says:

I second what Mike said. We all know he’s playing.
To quote BA from yesterday, “You’d have to shoot him to keep him off the field.”

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

All of these guys injured and not one positive comment?…….Something is fishy.

Winfield,Whitehead Brown & LVD…..don’t be surprised if someone else is added to that list.

Our CBs look OK……we can play with 3 on the field…….

Devin White just may be able to cover for LVD also….he’s that fast….

  13. Cobraboy Says:

It looks windy on Sunday evening, wind gusts up to 20-25mph. Hopefully, the rain bands will have gone through but you never know.

So, yeah, it looks like poor fling-biscuit conditions, so the ground game becomes really key.

I like the Buc’s chances in a game won at the LoS.

    @ Gofortheface30
Are you new to the game of football?

  15. Listnfrmafar Says:

If throwing and increment weather are issues, you have to love the Bucs #1 against the run. The no risk it no biscuit O may come back to bite BA in the a@@. Bucs backs are not great receivers and Bucs throw very little underneath. Plus Oline hasn’t been so great run blocking. This game is a toss up.

  16. AKicknTheBucNuts Says:

Heard a report how Mahomes “old man jogs” back to the huddle and the defense sees that, then he’s lighting quick when chased out of the pocket.

All this negative injury reporting sounds just like that.

  17. Jason Says:

Can we just add a hamstring specialist to the training staff already. Just saying.

  18. DoooshLaRue Says:

    He sounds like JayMiss

  19. DaBux Says:

No one tells the truth until they have to regarding injuries. Hell, I’m shocked Tom Brady isn’t being reported in intensive care to mess with the Chiefs.

  20. orlbucfan Says:

In the old days, they would give players painkillers if necessary so they could play. LVD has already checked that out. He will be starting Sunday in the StupidBowl.

  21. SOEbuc Says:

Wondering if all these players injuries are smoke and they be ready for Sunday. Stay like Tom under the radar not like Mahomes commercials every break during games on Sundays.

  22. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I think it’s a smokescreen. Lavonte plays, and plays well.

  23. Gofortheface30 Says:

GP – that’s a pudding head comment. “Herrr derrr are you new to the game of footbawwwww.” Apparently you are because the Super Bowl is designed to be played in optimum conditions. There is too much money, sponsorships, paid entertainment, media from all over, fans from all over to have a wet/windy/soggy/turnover filled slogfest of a Super Bowl. This is not an opinion, this is a statement of fact and whether you like it or not, a true way to determine the best team is it being played in supreme conditions.

    Face30

Weird take. Football is meant to be played in the elements. Generally played in the south because of better winter weather. Not guaranteed to be perfect.
Prince tore up Purple Rain☔️ in a downpour, so no sympathy for“the weekend “.

It’s not going to be rescheduled so buckle up.

  25. BillyBucFan Says:

    Just look at the icebowl.
    Come on man.
Football is played on a field not in a gym.
    Go watch basketball moron.
