Bruce Arians On Jason Pierre-Paul: “Man, This Guy, He’s Crazy”
February 2nd, 2021Yes, Jason Pierre-Paul is an absolute freak of nature and a freak of life, and everybody around him knows it.
He was that way in college with his unmatched athleticism and raw hunger for quarterbacks. The NFL quickly got a taste of his fury with the Giants — and the league then learned that JPP’s fire and desire was enough to get him to sack tragedy.
In the summer of 2015, he blew digits of his hand in a horrific fireworks screwup. The explosion also blew up the franchise-tag he had left unsigned on the New York Giant’s conference table. That didn’t stop JPP, only slowed a little.
And then came a broken neck in May of 2019 a year after landing with the Bucs. He beasted right through the doubters and medical science to return to the field six months later with a thunderous sack in Tennessee on his first play.
This season? JPP tops the NFL with fourth-quarter sacks. He’s got seven.
“He’s a genetic freak, man; this guy, he’s crazy,” Arians told SiriusXM NFL Radio. “It’s just what he can do at his age and bending, he’s relentless, you know. He hates to come off the field. But it’s like, ‘Dude, I need you in the fourth quarter. We’ll give you a couple of breaks here and there.’
“He loves to play the game. I mean, he loves to play the game. I’m so proud. You know he had two interceptions this year and it’s unbelievable for him to even catch a ball. But for him to drop into coverage and then read a screen and pick it off, he deserves his Pro Bowl [selection].”
Arians went on to explain how amazing it is that JPP can have an array of pass rushing moves on both sides of the defensive line, and catch balls, with a disfigured hand.
“Just watching him come back from that car wreck last year, and where he was and where he got to so fast, first play of [his season] he had a sack after having a broken neck,” Arians said. “I mean, he’s just unbelievable.”
Indeed, JPP has been a monster since arriving in Tampa. If the Bucs win the Super Bowl on Sunday and JPP has a strong day, one could argue that the 2018 trade for him (only a third-round pick) was the greatest trade in franchise history.

What DID we pay for him?
February 2nd, 2021 at 9:48 am
3rd round pick plus swapped 4ths

I like his mentality. Everyone with the niceties. Not him. Old school. Be friends after the game.

This is definitely top 2 I think. The best trade was trading a bust 3rd round TE Harold Bishop to Cleveland for a 2nd rounder. That pick turned into Mike Alstott. That would by my favorite all time.
JPP would be second & Revis third.

No doubt he is a beast! What QB in this league wants to face him. Especially with the other defensive pieces he has working with him.
Licht has built us a dream team with numerous future HOF’ers.
With this much talent it’s hard for an individual to stand out, and yet we have several.
I am “really” looking forward to this game!
It’s going to be a monster too!

without question one of the major reasons this team is where they are, and a new mindset.

For Years, the conversation on JoeBuc was
“We need a pass rusher”
No matter what they tried, or who they drafted- they couldnt find anyone to chase the QB around.
I remember how happy I was, when they Acquired JPP!
I am still so happy he’s here.
He is by far my favorite defensive player. He plays so hard on every play!!
So fast, so talented, soooo dedicated!
JPP is to our Defense, what Brady is to our offense.
I believe that JPP and Shaq will be the key to stopping the Chiefs offense, along with pocket crushing Vea and Suh.
Win or lose( lord I hope we win), there is one certainty.
JPP will have played hard, and led this defense with his experience and effort.

Lol, brings back memories of Booker Reese

Come on Joe. Gruden was best trade, even if we win a super bowl on Sunday. That or GRONK LOL
February 2nd, 2021 at 11:28 am
Dude’s a freak.
I mean that in the most respectful way.
February 2nd, 2021 at 11:29 am
I think the best trade was dumping Winston and picking up Brady!!! After Sunday we all will be saying this:) JPP is a great piece of the puzzle as well as White, Barrett, David and the rest of the defensive stars!

JPP, more than any other player, changed the defensive culture. His fire and gave confidence to the team. He blazed a path for Devin White and gave some swag to the DBs.

The Gruden trade set us back 10yrs.Smdh.

Beeej, you’ll have to go to the Saints fan page to fine realist, maxi-pad and n-dog. There’re still over there biatching about Sean Payton not pulling Brees in the second half for Mr Pick-6 to save the day so they could cry in unison, “I told you so!”

Awesome player and probably the toughest SOB to ever play for us. Licht just keeps looking better and better in trading for this dude.

I would tend to with you Buczilla .However when the Dynamic 4 are paired they become The Awesome Wreckin Krewe and when they are in Fully Attack Mode they will change the outcome of SB 55. This
will allow the backend to function more aggressively to contain KCs Dynamic Receivers. #20 -$87-#17. When those Threads R Eliminated that when the Krewe Gets It Done, we can Turn Out The Lights 4 KC and let DA Home Party Begin. GO BUCS!!!
