“It Becomes Normalized”
January 18th, 2021What a night (and a week ahead) of ecstasy for Joe and all the Bucs fans across the globe.
So much joy for so many reasons.
General manager Jason Licht talked last night about one reason he is so full of appreciation and confidence.
Speaking before the historic throttling of the Saints, a 30-20 Bucs win, Licht took to the airwaves on the Buccaneers Radio Network about how Tom Brady is in the midst of crafting a new culture at One Buc Palace.
“That was one of the reason that we were so excited to get Tom, is to be an example to our young players, and we have a lot of good young players on our team. To set the example so they can see what the standard is, and the standard for him is just pure excellence,” Licht said. “And, you know, we’ve had some good wins here in the last few weeks, but his demeanor doesn’t change. He’s on to the next.
“You know, he’s famous for saying his favorite Super Bowl is the next one. He definitely has that aura to him that you can’t really appreciate fully until you see it in person. And it becomes normalized where we see it every day, and that’s a good thing. Because hopefully that is the normal moving forward.”‘
“Normalized.”‘ Joe likes that word choice from Licht.
Brady has normalized the behavior of Antonio Brown and the attitude of Leonard Fournette. He’s helped the offensive line reach its potential and he has Bucs offensive players, backups included, steaming with confidence and playing with focus and fire.
Joe is so damn excited about the next two games (yes, two!) and what they’ll mean for fully transforming the Bucs for years to come.

What a player!!! What a team!!! Let’s go Bucs!!!
January 18th, 2021 at 12:06 am
Tom G.O.A.T Brady has done more than just won games this year. He has transformed the expectations. His impact should be felt for many years.
January 18th, 2021 at 12:07 am
Brady is a machine. He doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And he absolutely will not stop, ever, until he gets that next ring!
January 18th, 2021 at 12:08 am
One of the best wins in Bucs history. Nobody knows what the future holds, but this team and its fans have much to be proud of today.
January 18th, 2021 at 12:08 am
Next up, get us a good young QB to study at the feet of the GOAT.
January 18th, 2021 at 12:08 am
Or he gets crushed by a bailer/compactor machine.
January 18th, 2021 at 12:10 am
They need to win the next two or lose next week. I can’t imagine the jokes about the Bucs losing a Super Bowl while playing at home especially if it’s coming from the Joe. There are a lot of analysts that have to answer for their Bucs hate crimes tomorrow I can’t wait. Steve Smith already did and he was so choked up he could barely speak😂😂😂😂
January 18th, 2021 at 12:10 am
I’m quite sure he has great influence on the defense also……he’s made the Bucs relevant again…..first simply by his presence…..but now by his play on the field.
We have many, many, many new fans who are excited about our team.
And, for the worthless trolls who pray we lose…..at least for tonight….they are forced under their rocks.
January 18th, 2021 at 12:12 am
One of my co-workers and a dear friend told me at the beginning of the season, “Brady will change the culture of this franchise for year to come “. I was skeptical, but now I totally see. So much losing and deleting ourselves over the “lost decade”. This truly feels like that night in Philly all over again. What a great feeling! LETS BE THE FIRST TO WIN A HOME SUPER BOWL!!!!

Nice Terminator reference. I concur.

With GREAT respect to the GOAT – Brady – He took over an incredibly talented offensive roster with a rising D, which is why he chose the Bucs. What Tom brought to Bucs, was HOPE. And, the Belief that Bucs could win when down 3 TDs.
As a LONG-time Bucs fan, for first time – I NEVER think we are out of a game, regardless of score or turnovers.
GB game is going to be EPIC…..
January 18th, 2021 at 12:21 am
I just can’t get over how absolutely possessed Devin White was tonight……that has got to scare the absolute $hlt out of Green Bay……can you imagine…..22 degrees…..snow & Devin White running your @$$ down…..
January 18th, 2021 at 12:23 am
Just saw vid of JPP without his jersey on and Lame-ass jersey in hand. SMH
January 18th, 2021 at 12:24 am
@TBBF – I admit that I was not thrilled with the Devin White pick in draft. DW has been amazing. Admit I was so WRONG. His Speed has to scare the hell out of Rogers, and will be the X factor next week.
January 18th, 2021 at 12:25 am
Don’t get cocky …. But yes Tom is special… I hope they’re ready for that cold! they should go 2 days early and practice on a dang high school field if needed
… But I do not think the Packers defense can contend with the bucs.. Suh is in Rogers head and if the defense plays this same aggressive style then it’s on to the S.B.
January 18th, 2021 at 12:29 am
Thank God we have Tom Brady in our sideline instead of going against him. GO BUCS ! on to Green Bay !
January 18th, 2021 at 12:34 am
Do yourself a favor and seek out some Saints podcasts… Listening to them cry is soooo amazingly fun.
January 18th, 2021 at 12:35 am
Like mama used to say, “you can hope in one hand and sh!t in the other, and see which one gets filled first”. Brady brought leadership, accountability and commanding presence on the battlefield. There isn’t a situation that he hasn’t faced before in his 10,000 year career. There is no panic in his play, even when his game is off, like it was tonight. Keep calm and stay in the moment, you don’t have to be a hero and win every play. New England fans sure did live the life of luxury for 20years, let’s enjoy the few we will have with THE GOAT!
January 18th, 2021 at 12:51 am
Leadership is valuable, no matter what the other Joe thinks. (BTW, he probably didn’t understand the self deprecation used when the player he always quotes downplayed the importance of leadership.)
January 18th, 2021 at 12:55 am
@ Rod Munch: I tried to find something on the Times-Picayune site but after they all predicted Saint wins (they had it anywhere from 1 to 4 points so they only were worried about covering the -3) the site was silent, maybe all the “experts” are busy draining sazeracs in the French Quarter…… Can not wait to hear the experts who buried the Bucs this week eat crow and we will not see many troll on JBF either, I like the term normalized as well. It may take us fans a while to get normalized like the Bucs locker room, we saw it on the live game posts, many of us truly expected the worst to happen like it would have from 2010 to 2019 but it did not, the Saints imploded instead. Ain’t it a great feeling?!?!
January 18th, 2021 at 12:58 am
Man, he’s so washed up… 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
January 18th, 2021 at 1:18 am
Fooooooooook the Saints n Sean Payton’s stupid face
January 18th, 2021 at 1:19 am
FortMyersDave – I just did a search for New Orleans Saints in my podcast app, then just looked for whatever was newest. More should pop up overnight, and I’ll enjoy listening to every single one of them.
January 18th, 2021 at 1:21 am
Soooooo proud of you BUCS N U TRU BUC FANS!!!!!!! LFG!!!!!!!! ITS LIKE 2002-2003 all over again!!! Let’s put another 38 straight on GB baby!!!!
January 18th, 2021 at 1:23 am
@joe
Licht deserves big love! What a squad we have❤️ LFG
January 18th, 2021 at 1:23 am
I’d like to quote Jon Gruden, “Not one word was said about how somebody’s going to stop this defense!”
Definitely some good play by the defense, so much so, that it should get into Green Bay’s head. If the Bucs are playing this much better than when they first played and got beaten badly, how badly will they get beaten by this time?
Props to Brees for a stellar career, thanks for the memories and great games. Time marches on though, and right in step is Brady, who won’t stop until the ring is in hand. A Super Bowl played at home, that’s a worthy accomplishment and one for the record books. But first, a thawing of the Frozen Tundra by the hot team from the Bay. On to Lambeau, on to Glory!
January 18th, 2021 at 1:24 am
LOVE THIS TEAM!!!!!!!!!
January 18th, 2021 at 1:38 am
But what did he say about eating W’s?

January 18th, 2021 at 1:56 am
Our BUCS!!!!!!!!!!!! GB is going down!!! This is our year!!!! The Saints were the only team that scared me!!! Damn this felt like our battle with the Eagles back in the day!!! I said it from day 1 since we signed TB12, best move since snatching up Grudes! So PROUD!!!!!!!! LFG
January 18th, 2021 at 1:57 am
What happened to my post? Didn’t even say awaiting moderation. You guys don’t like me I guess. Oh well, such is life. Really starting to think Brady’s DESTINY is to win another ring in Tampa. DEFINITELY didn’t win tonight because of coaching on offense. Should have ran the ball on 3rd and 2 inside the 10 yard line down by 6. Already went 3 and out twice to start the game DUMBASS! MIGHT not get another chance that close to the goal line and could have gotten it on 4th down if not. Watch what Lafluer does on offense next week.

This is one of the most happiest days in my life. I enlisted in the military in 2002 to see my hometown Bucs win a title. Almost 20 years later I am about to retire from the Armed Forces to see them reach the Conference Championship game. It’s not over yet Bucs nation! We have work to do! Let’s go Bucs!
January 18th, 2021 at 3:02 am
Love this win, love you Joe’s, and holy hell what an awesome way to beat our “bullies” with the greatest player of all time. Devin White is balls too man! I was so wrong on this dude.
January 18th, 2021 at 3:56 am
Gotta say that is one of our most impressive wins ever! Never saw so many passes defensed in one Bucs game! That was the defense we’ve all been waiting on to appear! Bowels pretty much got out of their way. It was the difference in keeping this team from caving in, then of course Brady bring the G O A T putting it to them. These Bucs are Dangerous! You know Green Bay took notice. 5th seed talking out the 2nd. If we do win Brady hands down should be the MVP.
January 18th, 2021 at 4:00 am
Brady for MVP!!
January 18th, 2021 at 4:07 am
Give a little credit to whoever cracked those ribs and punctured that lung. Brees wasn’t 100 percent. I would feel a lot more confident about the Bucs if Brees. Was healthy. Beating the fleagles in their last game in the old stadium will always top my list of favorite games. Beating them again in the first game in their new stadium was just the cherry on top. Beating the Raiders in San Diego was great, but beating the Chiefs or the Bills in Tampa would have to be the absolute ultimate experience. It sucks that it won’t be in front of a full crowd. It would be great if everybody with tickets could get the vaccine now.
January 18th, 2021 at 5:25 am
Itz all Brady. he is flawlwess, perfect in pressure situations and just raises the level of his teammates. Greatest ever
January 18th, 2021 at 5:30 am
The O-line was fantastic against possibly the best d-line in the NFL. Ryan Jensen was on fire. He was bulldozing everyone in his path. Stinnie did well as did Smith.
January 18th, 2021 at 5:56 am
We are so over the top with excitement that we can miss what we’re really seeing.
We are privileged to watch sports history! Simply getting the opportunity to watch the greatest player to ever play the game.
Think about it. Yeah we’re focused on the next game and that’s the thing to do for sure. But while we’re watching…take the time to enjoy that opportunity.
I’m the old dude here but some of you younger guys will be able to tell your grandkids that you actually saw the great Tom Brady.
Some of your grandkids perhaps are watching with you. When THEY get to be my age they will always have THIS sports memory. I saw Tom Brady in his prime. He’s never been better.
From my youth it’s two QB’s who stood out. Johnny Unitas and the Colts captured my imagination with Lennie Moore, Raymond Berry, Gino Marchetti.
It was Johnny U baby. And of course Joe Willie’s famous SB prediction.
Young people today will reach my age…if they’re lucky..and it will be TB12 forever.
January 18th, 2021 at 6:00 am
I loved all the trash talking from Ryan Jenson and Devin White . We bullied the bully..I loved it..Wanted so bad for someone to eat a w in front of winston.

I hate to gloat — but will be gloating, none the less. What a gratifying, ha-ha-on-you, win. It brought back a memory, one Brady-related. Years ago, when the AFC championship game often came down to TB12 vs. “Cut that Meat” Peyton Manning, I was at Gillette for a big Pats’ win. It was a snow game, and fans were all wearing their “par-kahs,” drunk on bad beer and spiced-up hot chocolate. (As a then-New Englander, you can imagine my disbelief when at my first Bucs home game discovered that you can wear tank tops and short shorts to a game in December? What a plus!) The Pats eeked out a tasty win. But the absolutely best part of the night was riding back to Boston on the crowded train from Foxborough. It’s a good 40 minute ride, and the train was half-full with devastated, dejected and completely distraught Colts fans. Grown men were in tears (for real), heads hung low and the heckling was divine. My thought for today, with the Bucs’ win: #gloatforthegoat, once again.
January 18th, 2021 at 7:58 am
Yes, Stinne did an excellent job, and Rod Munch is right.
The Saints Podcasts are all crying, and making excuses for their loss.
January 18th, 2021 at 9:53 am
Who’s healthy? Who’s peaking? The Bucs. And that is what is required this time of year. The rest is execution. TB12 is inspirational; couldn’t find a better leader. His routine; attention to details- everything. Bottom line: he wants to win, and he wants to win everything…cards, golf, and the rest. One time, the NE Offensive line challenged him to something they thought they could beta him at…and he knocked that beer down faster than a hobo on a ham sandwich; left them in awe.
January 20th, 2021 at 9:26 am
We ran the ball 33 times last week . Why are yall trying to make this all about Brady one guy on the team ??? Last year most of yall told me that the running game doesn’t matter . It was excuses for Jamies . If it wasn’t for the running game we would have probably lost .
January 20th, 2021 at 12:00 pm
for all you younger fans let me explain the most important thing that drives Tompa. It’s being drafted 199th in the 6th round. I don’t think he will ever totally get over that. He was heart broken and pissed at the same time. But think how many hearts he has shattered in the last 20 yrs. The most recent? Bilichick hahahahha
