Ryan Clark: It Is Up To The Offensive Line

So here we are. Another week, another playoff game, another test for the Bucs’ offensive line.
And in the mind of a former Super Bowl champion, the game within the game is the line’s ability to block.
Retired NFL cornerback Ryan Clark of BSPN took to the airwaves of “Stay in Bed,” seen on BSPN, and said he believes if the Bucs don’t give park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking Bucs quarterback Tom Brady time to throw, then you may as well throw in the towel as the Saints will rout the Bucs.
“Can you block and protect Tom Brady?” Clark asked. “The two games against the New Orleans Saints was the most he was pressured all year. And you know when Tom Brady is under pressure, he goes from the goat to Demi Moore doing pottery and he will see ghosts.
“If you protect Tom Brady, you give your team a chance to win Tampa Bay. If you don’t, you will be at home [next week].”
(Clarification: Joe could not tell whether Clark said “ghosts” or “goats” with his Demi Moore reference. So Joe did a Google search with “Demi Moore pottery” and kept coming up with screengrabs of her movie “Ghost,” which Joe has never seen. So Joe assumes here Clark said “ghosts.”)
(Clarification II: The last movie Joe can recall seeing Demi Moore star in was “A Few Good Men.” Joe’s not a movie guy but is confident Ira, a proud movie guy, could rattle off all her flicks.)
Well, Joe looked up quarterbacks and pressures of Washington and New Orleans, and the production from each team was shockingly almost identical.
So in Joe’s mind, if the Bucs can block Washington, they should take care of New Orleans. That would likely mean often holding foot-rubbing, car-littering Bucs tight end Rob Gronkowski back to block.

The Bucs will be beat easily by the Saints just like the last two times these two teams played each other. “BEAT DOWN COMING”! hide th D-line, beat down coming hide the D-line”!

I want all the Saints fans and media (especially Kay Adams, Shannon Sharpe, & Nick Wright) to get as hyped as possible. It will be that much sweeter when the Bucs beat them. This game is going to be like when Montana and the chiefs beat Warren Moon and the oilers on their way to the AFC championship.

I’d already said, think it was Sunday here, that they use what they did to stave off WAS against the the next opponents, be it NO or LAR. Stinney is my only worry, the only unknown quantity. Hope he is his own little Brady.

Joe, wouldn’t mind spinning clay with Kay like Patrick Swazey did with Demi. Obvious analogy, oline protects Brady, Brady completes passes. They don’t, no cigar.

Really? Unless Brady can be protected, he won’t be able to complete passes. Can’t that be said about most pocket-passing QBs. Unless you’re a Patrick Mahommes or Lamar Jackson, you need protection for the passing game to work. Maybe that’s why teams try to build good, strong O-lines.

Ok, so everybody is an armchair coach and knows exactly what needs to be done and how the game will turn out. So, here’s my offering. Yes, of course the O-line needs to step, as does everyone, but here’s the key to beating the Saints. Stuff their ground game. Whatever it takes shut down Kamara and Hill. Force this game to be a Brady vs Brees game, which is what everyone is talking about anyway. Brees has been fading in recent weeks while Brady is stepping up his game to his usual playoff winning form which he does so well. Bucs 34, Saints 30.

While the Oline will clearly be critical there are ways to slow the rush down.
Everybody said Brady couldn’t in play Arian’s offense. The GOAT has made those folks look foolish. Now it’s time to see if BA can coach TB12’s offense.
We should hit lots of quick passes and swing passes to Fournette. If the game is called properly Brady shouldn’t need that much time to get rid of the ball.

I know this has been said so much that it’s about the same as a cliche but this game will depend on who wins the line of scrimmage on both sides. Now having said that, the only thing we can do is pray for our secondary. That’s the only thing that will help them! I’m sure most of you will agree that, after 17 frickn games, Todd Bowles damn sure won’t. In my opinion, this should be his chance for redemption. Not holding my breath. If an owner and coach watch our games and STILL hire him. Look out Detroit here comes your replacement on Thanksgiving
