Tom Brady: Bucs Have Changed

Bucco Bruce Arians has said it. So too has Saints coach Sean Payton.
The Bucs team that will travel to the Superdome for Sunday night’s game in New Orleans will be a different team that arrived to start the season. And for Bucs fans, hopefully, it’s a far cry from the team that got curb-stomped by the slimy Saints before the eyes of the nation on Sunday Night Football two months ago.
Yesterday, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking Bucs quarterback Tom Brady mentioned one of the ways the Bucs offense has changed.
“I think we’ve certainly come a long way,” Brady said of his offense since it was shut down by the slimy Saints in Week 9. “I think we’re just going to keep improving. The more we’re together, the more we’re talking about football, the more we’re trying to be on the same page, the better it is.
“It’s a complex game – there’s a lot of moving parts [and] there’s a lot of coordination involved between a lot of different positions. I think the quarterback-receiver relationship is really important.”
As Joe has pointed out previously many times, few thought Brady’s turnover-averse play and Arians’ no-risk-it; no-biscuit offense could meld after what it did against New Orleans.
Brady is ripping teams up with the deep ball and is not throwing picks.
Brady has rarely been this good at the deep ball game and Arians has never (in the NFL) had a quarterback not throw picks.
Yes, boys and girls, the impossible is real.

By far, the most entertaining Bucs team ever. If they can somehow get some pressure on Brees and not get burned by the excellent Saints receivers….

BOTH teams are solid. The team that makes the least mistakes Sunday night will win. The loser will essentially beat themselves.

For the negative Nancys and non-believers, all you have to do is look at the Browns.
Smacked down by the Steelers in their first game, the Browns could barely beat the Steelers JV team in the 2nd regular season game and that game decided if the Browns would go to the playoffs. What did the Browns get as their reward? A wild card game with the Steelers the next week.
Result? Browns were up 28-0 at one point and that was with TWO backup Oline men.

Joe you’re going to want to rip your hair out but I’m thinking maybe all they did was need time and experience playing together. I get you can make the Burrow and Herbert argument that they didn’t need time but not every QB and offense are the same. Carson Palmer even admitted himself he struggled the first year with the offense and this is Brady’s first new system in 20 years.

Soooo it goes to show that Arians had a fundamental problem with HIS offense. It’s a shame it took a player, albeit the Greatest Of All time but still a player. Definitely if Mrs. Brady is good for it Mr. Tompa Bay Brady should become a coach himself after he retires.

Brady has the least amount of interceptions thrown for qbs in first year of bruce arians system. Go look it up. And some good qbs in that group.
Just think how many ints happened early in season too
I mean he started out season with 2
Offense struggled for a while
And Just think about possibilities next year.
It took time for brady to gain trust. Cause receivers a lot of times take a route to open space in defense. Or receiver to turn around in route cause back shoulder throw coming out earlier as a result of pressure on qb
That is why AB was a quick success. Brady had played with him before and they know each others tendencies.
I think that is why offense struggled early on. Mile evans sets the tone. Brady and evans chemistry was crap early on. Its still not perfect (after watching washington game again). But brady is playing madden , putting up fantasy stats if you give him time. On one play , In washington game , he went across field from right to left (passing on option 1,2 and 3 ) to throw to an open option 4 leonard fournette for a first down. The dude goes thru his progressions like a boss and takes what he can get even if its 4-5 yards. And he will throw away if no more options. Lets face it , the last qb had all talent in world but struggled in that area.

Joe, I appreciate your tip of the hat to how Arians and Brady’s abilities have meshed more as the season has gone on.
Mid season almost everyone was suggesting just to bag anything Arians wanted to do and go to a full on Brady New England mentality. I am glad the pro’s continued to try to make it work.

The looking downfield first may be working, but it takes the GOAT QB and three of the best receivers in the league and a HOF TE to make it work. A number of other systems would also work and probably work better. But in any case, it is working now, so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
