Mike Evans Says Dwayne Wade, LeBron James Reached Out
January 13th, 2021Bucs fans will always remember the moment this month that Mike Evans became the first NFL receiver to record at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first seven seasons.
Today, Joe asked Evans what notable names reached out to show him love for the feat.
Those who know Evans are well aware that he’s a huge NBA fan. Joe once heard Evans asked about his first big purchase after signing a massive contract. Evans replied that he scored courtside seats to NBA games and bought his mom a watch.
Previously, Evans also shared his memories of meeting his boyhood heroes, NBA star Dwayne Wade and LeBron James, who once approached Evans at a basketball game to show him respect.
Today, Evans, with a big smile in his voice, told Joe that both Wade and James reached out to congratulate him on the new NFL record.
Evans had been tied for the record with Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss, who has coached up Evans in past offseasons. Moss didn’t reach out when a new mark was set, per Evans, but that’s cool with the greatest Bucs receiver in history. He added that Moss is a great friend and it’s all good.
Joe thinks the NBA greats reaching out is damn cool. As the Saints’ third-string quarterback likes to say, “Real recognize real.”
TAMPA TWO looks at the high-stakes Saints-Bucs matchup coming Sunday. All the fun and insight with Derrick Brooks and Ira Kaufman is presented by The Identity Tampa Bay and Joe.

So your saying Jameis is unrecognizable to anyone real?
January 13th, 2021 at 2:14 pm
Moss will get in touch with him soon enough.
Maybe he’s waiting for an opportunity to make it a bigger deal when he does?
January 13th, 2021 at 2:18 pm
Jameis? why someone have to bring out Jameis. Jameis once reached out to someone, the result was a 3 game suspension.

I think that’s real smooth of those guy’s to reach out like that has anyone ever considered that this is why these guy’s are so successful because they’re able to cheer someone else on and that leaves opportunity and openings for them in their lives it’s time we stop.tearing down each other and start lifting each other up regardless of our views and learn to respect each other it wasn’t meant for all of us to have the same view or understanding at the same time we all are peices of life’s puzzle but fit in different parts of to puzzle. All of us are in life’s book just different pages We should refresh our brothers and sisters from the page we are on to help.them up to where we are and never stop refreshing each other l am you and you are me

January 14th, 2021 at 12:26 pm
Great receiver he not finished yet many more record to break go mike go
January 14th, 2021 at 2:18 pm
Great record let’s get the Record straight without J. Winston Mike wouldn’t have a record these are facts like it or not – If the bucs protected Winston like Brady – Brady wouldn’t be there in tampa bay funny how the critics never mention this 21 sacks oh really compared to 47 Winston never had a good offensive line Brady would have looked horrible with 47 Sacks these are facts like them or not – Media never tell the whole story just there side lol

I love the comments that think that if Famous Jamison would have been so great with that line . I’d like to point those idiots who think that are either idiots or blind. There Offensive linemen have hurt or missing all year and if they could block half way decent they wouldn’t need Grong to stay in and block on almost every play . The Bucks are best in a two end offense that’s just a fact . Don’t even try to compare Brady with WINSTON that’s a laugh or those of you that think so need to watch baseball because you surely don’t know anything about football.
January 14th, 2021 at 6:29 pm
Y’all can say what you want to ride Brady coat tail. Facts are in the stats being presented between the years J.Winston was there and this year of T. Brady. Not to mention the crap the Patriots has gotten away with over the years. Even in NOLA J.Winston would put up 5k…. Now thats my story and I’m sticking to it.
January 14th, 2021 at 6:52 pm
^you can have the 5k yards with 30+ turnovers.
How did he do this year as the third string qb? Did he put up those 5k yards you’re talking about this year?
