Brady Now Has 30 Touchdowns & 11 Interceptions

December 13th, 2020

What a difference a year/a quarterback makes.

Tom Brady is hardly perfect, but he’s not a turnover machine and a weekly threat to throw games away.

After a good-enough kind of day today against the Vikings (15-for-23 for 196 yards and 2 touchdowns with 0 picks), Brady now sits with 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions for the season.

With three games to play, Brady is three TD passes shy of Jameis Winston’s franchise record of 33 touchdowns, but Jameis complemented that total last season with an unconscionable 30 interceptions. Consider that not one NFL quarterback this season is on pace for 20 interceptions. Not one.

Brady has work to do when it comes to figuring out the Bucs’ slow starts, but he’s surpassed or met everyone’s expectations as he captains an 8-5 Bucs team at 43 years old.

Joe appreciates witnessing Bucs and NFL history watching Brady. And Joe is fired up that Brady has three games remaining against bad pass defenses to feast upon. Joe would be a few Bucs that Brady finishes with 35 touchdowns.

He could go 0-18 the next 3 games & not make the coveted 30-30 club…..

But, but, but turnovers don’t matter…

    I love the win, but……………….

Brady missed on 3 plays with receivers wide open – Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski, and Ronald Jones out of the backfield. All 3 plays would have gone for big gains. Forget that he and the receivers are not on the same page. He simply didn’t make the throws. And I would venture that most other QBs in the NFL would have made at least 2 if not all 3 of those passes.

In planning for the future, we need a QB that has at least some mobility. How many times today, was Cousins able to allude the pass rush and/or run for first downs? As soon as there’s any hint of a pass rush, Brady fires missiles to one of his receivers, many of which go incomplete. He looks scared of being creamed on so many plays. I know he made several great throws, one to Scotty Miller, one to Gronk and one to ME, but overall, which QB do you think had the better game today?

Had the Vikings not forgotten to bring a kicker today, I feel this game would have ended much differently.

But, as I said, I love the win!

Good stats. Super happy with 8-5 and playoffs in the future. That said, a better OC and we’d be even better.

  5. Patrick Says:

He’s having a strong season, regardless of what anyone says.

Brady’s “worst season” would still be a best season for most NFL quarterbacks.

  6. PSL Bob Says:

The Defense needs to go play some sandlot football for an hour or so before each game. At the end of games they look fantastic. It just takes them a while to get warmed up.

  7. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

He could catch Jay Miss if he averages a little over 6 interceptions for the final 3 games. How many fumbles did Jay Miss have as well? Not this year, unless he’s fumbling the clipboard.

Lol… Buc fans complaining about the QB play… they better “check the stat sheet “ … sheet they’d bitch if they were going get hung with a new rope

I am genuinely grateful for Reasonable Joe and his measured opinions. Getting rid of that turnover machine was the best thing this franchise has done in years. Brady is not the long term answer but neither was Jay-Miss. I’d rather have Brady at $25 million for a year or two than Jay-Miss for $30 million a year for five years. Only a fool would rather have the aforementioned turnover machine.

Three brain dead offsides penalties. The first by Suh turned a 4th and 7 into a convertible 3rd and 2. There’s six points…shoulda been seven…due to head up rectum position.

Second half…Minnesota with momentum…our D tiring after a long drive and the worst thing we could do is go three and out. First down Ali Marpet offsides putting us way behind on down and distance and AGAIN…3 and out!

We missed an extra point. There is room for improvement but again we won a game we should and needed to win.

Bachmann Turner Overdrive baby…”Takin Care of Business”.

Brady missed some throws and he made some terrific throws with touch we never saw last year. The Brady hate is getting kind of absurd at this point.

“In planning for the future, we need a QB that has at least some mobility. How many times today, was Cousins able to allude the pass rush and/or run for first downs?”

Really? Brady QB’s the WINNING team…”mobile” Cousins was the LOSER!

Cousins three one TD pass…Brady two..Cousins QBR 61.1 Brady 83.9

    And Mr. Mobility Cousins…SIX SACKS….Statue Brady.,,ZERO SACKS.

Credit the OL or whomever bottom line is that Brady is mobile ENOUGH to complete two TD’s…no sacks..no ints..and WIN the game.

Listen to us…Brady was completely mediocre today because of his inconsistency. Instead of viewing his GREAT passes…especially the dime to Scottie Miller…and we concentrate on the horrid passes and there were a few for sure.

He WON…He’s 8-5 already exceeding last year’s seven wins with three games to play and the post season very much a possibility. Yeah Brady sucks I mean which QB couldn’t take the Bucs to the playoffs? Any QB could have changed the culture right…unless of course the QB himself was part of that culture.

What a difference an actual nfl caliber qb makes!
Getting rid of a qb that was obviously a huge part of the problem was the game changer…
There is a reason NO team jumped at the chance to sign him and he ends up 3rd string…

Brady Isnt exactly lighting it up but he has proven JW had to go!

They don’t have clipboards anymore. Jameis seems to be a very good ‘Surface’ holder though. 🙂

  13. Buczilla Says:

Brady is not playing as well as I thought he would, but he’s still the best quarterback that we have ever had. Kinda sad, but I’m enjoying the hell out of this year despite the ups and downs.

  14. JayWill Says:

Brady has a top 10 rusher, defense, better RT and a kicker that rarely misses. Winston had none of that along with Brady 15 year experience edge over Winston…Brady is in a better situation than Winston was in Bucs. He doesn’t have to be the reason they win. They won and lost base on Winston because for 4.5yrs you couldn’t rely on the defense. For 4 years Winston couldn’t rely on the run game and for 5 years he couldn’t rely on a kicker. Lets not start on Lovie, Dirk and Mike Smith. The only thing he could rely on was his arm and Humphries, Mike Evans, Brate & Godwin.

  15. 43IsOnlyOldInHumanYears Says:

Only 11 interceptions? Only two pick sixes? He is among the league leaders in interceptions! Yes is it less than Winston but it is still way to many. We beat a team yesterday that we should have. I don’t think it is time to engrave the Lombardi Trophy yet.

  16. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

Please stop making those excuses Brady can’t rely on the defense this year either. Last year Jones was coming on strong but Arians refused to use him full time just like this year instead giving many needed runs to Barber for 1 yard. Though Winston was sacked more and under duress more his mobility helped negate alot of the pressure which he deserves major props that his haters refused to acknowledge, but he negated a lot of his positives with the decisions he made with the ball. Tom Brady at 43 is light years ahead of Winston and that’s why we’re on the cusp of the playoffs. We should’ve went last year but didn’t because as he was so hilariously titled by a poster up here America’s Turnover Machine, aka Mr. ATM himself 36 turnovers were too much to over come!

If the Bucs wasn’t too get Brady going quickly in the first quarter they need to change up their gameplan to quick hits and toss sweeps and misdirection more slants, things that worked for him in NE and then switch to the no riskit. Brady needs to get in rhythm early so it will translate to the rest of the game.

  17. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Brady has a LONG way to go to match Winston’s 30/30 club stats!!

  18. SteveK Says:

Brady is flat out better and we are lucky to have him. Time to dial up and make a run.

It’s hilarious to continue to read the mental gymnastics at play to justify the fact that our previous QB just made poor decisions.

8-5 and onto ATL. Big opportunity this week.

  19. SteveK Says:

The defense is stronger- bc they’re supported by a QB who doesn’t give it a away like Halloween candy. 🤔
