The team that Don Coryell lost to in the final game of the 1977 season was the Bucs who’d won their first game the week before after starting 0-26! Hank Stram was also fired in New Orleans for being victim #1.
I remember Perkins well and had the same memory – those eyes.
I’m only 14 minutes into this podcast and I’m with Lee. I’ve seen this movie before… Prove us wrong! Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Not being negative, just realistic.

Thanks for the link! Nobody wanted to be the first team to lose to the Bucs. I remember George Allen said in 1977 he told his team something like — If you lose this game I’m going to have it put on your gravestones!
