It seems Bucs quarterback Tom Brady really likes Florida after being a full-time resident for nearly 10 months.
Asked today about adjusting to New England springtime temperatures that pass as Florida winter days, Brady said, “You won’t catch me dead living in the northeast anymore. I’m loving the warm weather and it’s been a great feeling.”
So after working for 24 years in New England and Michigan, Brady has taken to the warmth of the Sunshine State. So much so he’s putting his money where his mouth is. Big time!
Back in October TMZ reported Brady was finalizing a deal to buy a waterfront mansion in Clearwater for some $7 million, though the realtor disputed Brady was involved in any way.
Brady did recently buy a custom boat, and he’s believed to have dropped $2 million on the rig.
Now comes word Brady and his wife, internationally famous model Gisele Bündchen, are buying a plot on the uber-exclusive Indian Creek Island located in Biscayne Bay off North Miami Beach.
Per reports, it seems Brady will be building a new house on the property.
The property, Page Six reports, isn’t exactly far northwest Pasco County adjacent to US 19. His new next-door neighbor is Ivanka Trump and her husband, presidential advisor Jared Kushner. The Emir of Qatar is also reportedly a new neighbor as well.
Other residents in Brady’s new neighborhood include Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima, billionaire investor Carl Icahn, Enrique Iglesias and his long-time partner, tennis icon and spokesperson Anna Kournikova. Former residents included Don Shula, rapper Jay Z and his wife, singer Beyonce.
Page Six suggests Brady dropped $17 million on the land.
It’s an area where he doesn’t have to worry about a neighbor not cutting the grass and killing nearby property values.
Brady currently rents Derek Jeter’s waterfront mansion on Davis Islands. The property is up for sale. Brady has at least one more year with the Bucs and he sure as hell isn’t going to commute daily from South Florida.
Would Brady actually move in with Antonio Brown? And if so, does that mean Brown also returns to the Bucs in 2021?
Or will Brady just barge in and make himself at home unannounced at Byron Leftwich’s house? Joe has heard Brady is on good terms with Leftwich’s neighbor.

Delawest … Sounds like you’re fine with the Bucs offensive performances but down on our defense. Am I close?
Personal opinion: Easiest way to ‘fix’ the Bucs’ defense is to ‘fix’ the Bucs’ offense. Our 1st half of the season (6-2) was respectable in that we beat 4 teams we should’ve beaten (Panthers, Broncos, Chargers, Giants) but we also beat 2 teams (convincingly) who are very competitive this year (Packers, Raiders). We lost to a better TEAM (Saints), but blew one against the Bears. One key stat IMO: our Turnover Differential: PLUS 6 (14 takeaways vs 8 giveaways). Our offense scored an average of 30.9 PPG and our defense allowed an average of 20.6 PPG in those first 8 games. The future was so bright we all had to wear sunglasses.
Now look at the first 4 games in the 2nd half of the season (1-3 record). We beat 1 team (convincingly) that we should’ve beaten (Panthers), but lost 3 games against teams who are very competitive this year (Saints, Rams, Chiefs). Hmmm, maybe a trend there? Again, one key stat IMO: our Turnover Differential: MINUS 2 (6 takeaways vs 8 giveaways). Our offense scored an average of 24.3 PPG and our defense allowed an average of 28.8 PPG in those last 4 games.
So let me see, our Bucs’ offense isn’t scoring nearly as many PPG (down by almost a TD per game) and our defense is allowing many more PPG (up by roughly a TD per game). And coincidentally our offense is giving the ball away at a rate that’s exactly DOUBLE what it was in the 1st half of the season, while our defense is still generating takeaways at roughly the same rate that it was.
And in the process, our time of possession has taken a major hit. Our TOP on the season has dropped to 28:55 mins … ranking #23 in the NFL (we were #9 last year with 30:54 mins). Our TOP has been well below 30 mins in these past 4 games (26:30 mins) but even that’s misleading … the TOP in our 3 losses this half season has been an abysmal 23:19 mins.
Seeing a trend? Our time-of-possession has plummeted and our giveaways have skyrocketed. Damn defense, it’s all their fault.

All us fans just want is to win another Superbowl. The drought of being in no playoffs and no hopes in sight has gone on too long in Tampa Bay.

Defense Rules, you’re a
slave to stats. Stats are for losers. Look at the players and make observations.
David and White have missed tackles and been out of position. Winfield has not made any big plays. The DBs have been wasted in zone when man is better, and put one on one when it was obviously wrong to do. Davis got hammered by Hill. Vea is gone. Shaq has jumped offsides 4-5 times, extending drives. The Defense is a problem.
The RBs and WRs are dropping passes. Brady is overthrowing open WRs. This and untimely penalties and inconsistent run game are ending drives early. The Offense is a problem.
The playcalling is a problem. The slow recognition that a Defense scheme isn’t working is a problem. Coaching is a problem.
All of these are covered up when they play weaker teams. All of these can be fixed.

My dad always says as you age you hate the cold more. I used to love the cold and hate the heat. I could go out in shorts and tee shirt when it was like 20 degrees. Not forever but for an extended time.
I’m right around Toms age, and I’m starting to see it. I start bitching about the cold before its even below freezing these days. I need to bundle up just to start the car. I can see why Arizona and Florida have a lot of senior citizen transplants. Now I dream of retiring in Del Boca Vista and enjoying that sun.
It makes total sense that he could thrive in the snowy games in NE in his youth but now likes the warmth of the Sunshine State.

@DR: interesting the break comes after Vea goes down. The D plays more poorly giving up points early and the O has to play catch-up in the process.
Unless something changes very soon, this season could crater.
Count me in the pile labeled “not optimistic,” and normally I’m optimistic.
Not impressed with either BL or TB, both supposedly high on future HC lists. I just hope that list does not include the Glazers.
So much promise, so much loss of traction…

Will tell you a story of Joe’s first trip to Florida (never went on a spring break trip in college).
About five years after college came to Florida. It was snowing when the plane left Midway Airport in Chicago. Landing at TPA and it was sunny and in the low 80s.
Next day went to a spring training game at Al Lang (before anyone ever heard of a GD launch angle). Bright sunshine, cloudless day. 80s. Gleaming green grass watching the Cardinals and Dodgers. Sitting 13th row behind Cardinals dugout. Thought, “What the hell am I doing in Chicago?”
Later that weekend was nursing a beer at night on a quiet patio behind a bar, shorts and a T-shirt. Couldn’t imagine being outside for more than 10 minutes at the very same time up in Chicago.
Made mind up right then and there was moving to Florida. Why put up with all the sh!tty weather and non-stop hassles (and way overpriced expenses) of living in the rust belt? Blech!
(Midwest may have the worst weather in the western hemisphere. At least if you like cold weather you could live in one of the mountain ranges.)

Warming to FL? Hell, with a good looking wife and all that bank he stole…from the Bucs, Brady is set for life. Getting his money for nothin and his chick..for free.

Sorry, gotta call you out on this one!
One of the things I can truly respect about TB12, even when he was in NE, is that he has always negotiated team friendly deals. Not to say that he isn’t pulling in some serious scratch. I could retire early and comfortably on one tenth of his current salary. (If you’re listening Tom, Joe knows how to contact me. Just sayin…Merry Christmas!)
If you don’t think Tom could have pulled 30 plus out of any of a number of teams (including us) this season and next, you’re outa yer mind!
