Barring beastly production from Ezekiel Elliott tonight in Baltimore, Bucs running back Ronald Jones will be the NFL’s fourth-leading rusher through 13 weeks of this season.

What an accomplishment by RoJo, whose 820 rushing yards only trail all-world backs Derrick Henry and Dalvin Cook, and super rookie James Robinson.
That kind of production got RoJo an interview on NFL Network during the bye week and, interestingly, host Andrew Siciliano floated a theory to RoJo that Bucco Bruce Arians sends messages to Tom Brady via the media.
Siciliano claimed one example is Arians publicly saying last week that RoJo “needs to have 20 touches” per game.
Joe had to smile when RoJo seemed to agree with Siciliano and said he believes those messages are received. RoJo also said, “I appreciate that coming from Coach.”
Joe really finds the notion of Arians sending cryptic messages to hilarious and scary at the same type. Hopefully, one of the NFL’s oldest coaches simply talks openly with the NFL’s oldest quarterback about what’s needed to succeed.
The Bucs are enduring “every team’s best shot” given their status this year with Brady, RoJo noted, and that gives each game a “different feel.”
Joe hopes that’s been the case. Because Sunday against the 6-6 Vikings should feel like a playoff game, and perhaps the Bucs won’t be rattled by the pressure.

20 carries per game?…….How about 15……he’s only averaging 13.5…..
15 last year would likely resulted in 1000 yards….

maybe if we could run from more than one hole it would help. up the gut on 1st gets nada……it might work later in the game or when unexpected, but stop the predictable up the gut on 1st early in the game. play action? can we block enough so he can break the corner….heck even run off wirfs side with gronk blocking, but stop the up the gut on 1st to start the game!

I think it’s hysterical that our coach “Bucco Bruce Arians sends messages to Tom Brady via the media”. An alternative novel idea: send the message loud-and-clear, face-to-face in the QB meeting room like the other 31 coaches in the league do. Communication-by-innuendo boggles my mind.

If ROJO had demonstrated that he could catch the ball consistently, he would be having a MONSTER season. As it is he is doing well for how much he has been yanked when dropping passes. If he could be counted on for Brady to dump the ball off to him, and screen passes, it would be a huge plus for this offense. He has shown everyone that he can play at this level. ROJO still has a lot of untapped potential and is very much an ascending talent. The sky is the limit if he can start catching the ball consistently. GO BUCS!!!!

Cobraboy that right there is why Brady/Arrogans/Leftovers need to stop boohooing about dropped passes, yeah they’re irritating but what he can do when he has the ball is exciting unlike the Prancing Panda Unfortunate who is so slow, but yet they keep taking touches from RoJo to give to him even when he’s made no mistakes!

While the sheep are excited for the individual stat in the top 5, the “Team” stat shows a different story!!!!!!!!!!! The Bucs as a team are 27th in rushing yards!!!!!!!!!!!! And are 29th in rushing attempts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But the sheepmwere told long ago that the old cheating goat was here to break passing records!!!!!!!!! Not hand the ball off, even if it means winning games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let’s hold off on calling James Robinson super rookie. Nothing about him is spectacular, in any way shape or form. Slow, not shifty, will never give you huge chunk plays. We’re not talking about Saquon Barkleys first yr
here or Ezekiels first yr. It’s a down yr of running back production and he’s being moderately productive in a down year. Emphasis on moderate, he will end up with 1100 yards rushing. Not great, not very good, but pretty good. When you actually watch him play, he is the very definition of ho-hum.

Definitely the most yards gained in the A-Gap.
Next year BL may learn innovative new run concepts like off tackle, pitch, reverses, and sweeps. Don’t rush it.
