Jeff Garcia Fires On Bucs; Carmella Still Hot

It was slightly over a year ago that the Bucs told starting quarterback Jeff Garcia his services were no longer needed. The Tampa Bay community has yet to recover from Garcia’s wife, Carmella, not gracing local bistros, coffee houses and flaunting her wares along the sidelines of the CITS.
Garcia is looking for a job currently and has had a few nibbles. One team that isn’t interested in using Garcia as a backup is the Bucs. This still rankles Garcia, per Anwar Richardson of the Tampa Tribune.
“I think that obviously there are some definite changes being made, but it just doesn’t seem like they are being made to really help the team right now,” Garcia said. “I don’t know what the thoughts are from the ownership [Glazers] standpoint, or general manager [Mark Dominik] standpoint, but it’s tough when you’re not necessarily opening the door to free agency to come in and help your team, or try to strengthen your team in a certain way outside of the draft.
“I mean, to rely on young players in the draft is a difficult position to put your team in in order to be competitive. That’s just something they have to figure out and hopefully they do figure it out.”
Though Joe understands Garcia, at 40, has limited value at the NFL level, there’s no questioning Carmella’s value.
Please Mark Dominik, think twice about turning a deaf ear to Garcia’s calls.

For the love of Buccaneer Bruce please tell me WHY is Grandpa Garcia making comments on how things are going here in Tampa???? Did he not finish his season on Oakland’s IR like he spent many times on ours(cashing checks) … who cares what he has to say!!! I for one don’t … Now his lovely wife that is another story.

Im surpised a team like Buffalo doesnt make a play for Jeff. His skills have definitly deminished, but the guy is a leader who can get teammates to rally around him. No denying that.
The Bucs still need a mentor for Freeman. Not saying Jeff is the guy, but we need someone. Our depth chart has more holes than the sinking ship were on.

It just amazes me how people all over (Bucs Fans, Other fans, other NFL players, analyst, bloggers, reporters, etc.) seem to get how POORLY the Bucs office is doing except the Owners and The front office themselves…..
It seems to me that the “Boys” learned very little from their Father!!!

RustyRhino I’m by no means a Garcia fan(even when he was here) but Garcia asked to be released from Oakland, cause he saw lack of commitment from several players on that team. They granted his wishes.

Garcia is right. Garcia also took Tampa to TWO 9-7 seasons. So before you smash him too much for NOT being Peyton Manning, at least he won, at least he converted on 3rd down and didn’t throw too many INTs.
Will Josh Freeman convert on 3rd down? I rember last year watching him laughing and smiling after 3 and outs… as if it was No Big Deal.
