“He Needs To Have 20 Touches”
November 30th, 2020Bucco Bruce Arians put his foot down this afternoon with Joe and various media.
This Bucs offense must feature Ronald Jones if it’s to reach its full potential.
“He needs to have 20 touches,” Arians said firmly.
Through 12 games, not counting dropped passes, RoJo is averaging 15.75 touches per game, and that includes about 12 touches per game in November.
Of course, the reason Arians wants more RoJo is because he’s churning out runs at 5.1 yards per carry and Arians added that RoJo’s gorgeous catch-and-run touchdown showed his confidence is rising catching the football. Despite his success running and receiving yesterday, RoJo’s final touch was with 3 minutes remaining in the third quarter.
Joe’s all in favor of more RoJo, but Joe still remains dumbfounded by how an offense with so many weapons has trouble being consistent and capitalizing on its ability to be diverse.

Here we go again, your the head coach. QUIT TAKING HIM OFF THE FIELD. We listened to you say we need to get Evans the ball more for 4 weeks straight before you finally fixed it.
November 30th, 2020 at 1:27 pm
the “run rojo run” scenario should have been figured out by the end of the first quarter of the season…
not the end of the 3rd quarter of the season…
some thick skulls up in there
November 30th, 2020 at 1:36 pm
Yup Joe. This team has too much firepower on O not to score point for point against most teams if the secondary is crapping the bed like the did yesterday.
Yet they only lost by 3 in the end to the defending SB Champs.
They’ll be okay. After they beat DOWN the Vikings and go 8-5.
Go Bucs!!!
November 30th, 2020 at 1:37 pm
this coaching staff is failing the team
November 30th, 2020 at 1:40 pm
He sound like he’s an angry fan and NOT THE COACH!!!! What the eff is going on over there!?!?!
November 30th, 2020 at 1:40 pm
same as years past, chasing big defecits due to collective poor play takes the run game off the table. we haven’t started enough games well enough to do whatever the heck it is the coaches say we should do
November 30th, 2020 at 1:50 pm
If Arians can’t give him 20 touches who the hell can? Same BS. Too many backs to allow RoJo to get in any kind of rhythm. No other reason
November 30th, 2020 at 1:55 pm
How many times will he say that?
November 30th, 2020 at 1:58 pm
This is one of the biggest offensive disappointments so far this year. Rojo could have been a 1300-1400 yard runner this year. And we would have won the bears game too!
November 30th, 2020 at 2:03 pm
This team will be 11-5. Ro Jo will get his touches down the stretch.
November 30th, 2020 at 2:06 pm
In the next two weeks find someone to play fullback and let Ronald carry the ball 25 to 30 times and he will run for 150 yards and more. Time of possession will favor the Bucs. Keep the 230 lb dancing bear off the field, he’s afraid of contact.

Imagine a world where the President of the company you work for were to tell the stock holders “We should be doing this to find more success as a company” but doesn’t communicate this to his/her direct reports over the past fiscal quarter.
You’re the head coach. If you think RoJo should be getting 20+ touches then my goodness, tell the people who work for you to get RoJo 20+ touches.
Arians’ answer is pretty insulting to the intelligence of the media and fans. You all hated it when Lovie Smith and other coaches offered up these kinds of answers. Why does Arians get the pass?
November 30th, 2020 at 2:10 pm
Fun fact: Brady leads the NFL in passing attempts, nearly 50 attempts ahead of 2nd place Matt Ryan.
I had not paid attention to attempts, but wow. Also, of course, Brady has played one more game than nearly everyone else.
Brady is also 2nd in passing yards, 4th in TDs and tied for 2nd in INTs…
November 30th, 2020 at 2:34 pm
You all seem to forget that ROJO had early game fumbles in some of the games. Against the Panthers on the first series. So much so I remember Joe typing on the Long run the same that every Buc fan was thinking, “Don’t drop it”.
Also had 2 big drops last week against the Rams. Some of the fact he is getting rotated out is his own fault. I agree he needs more touches when he is doing well, as I was at both the Rams and Chiefs games.
I noticed that our receivers were being held big time with no calls. Against the Rams Rojo and Fournette, Godwin and others were all taking the wrong routes when running. They were running into the tackles rather than to the hole.
I for one really think the week off will help this team reset and get back on track. I love that we are picking apart a possible play off team rather than discussing draft needs at this time. But I can do without the Bi-Polar Joe articles. You get me up and relaxed then the sky is falling articles just wear me out. I didn’t think this team was SB ready this year. If we can hold together next year will be the year with a full off season and more for Brady and company to get to know each other better.
November 30th, 2020 at 2:42 pm
The 15 carries per game he’s getting this year applied to last year would be??????????????????????? DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!…..1008 yards
November 30th, 2020 at 2:53 pm
Hey Bruce, your getting paid a sh!t load of money to be the head coach. Act like one. If you say Rojo needs 20 touches, its your efin responsibility to make sure that happens. SMDH
November 30th, 2020 at 3:02 pm
No non-pass-catching RB gets 20 touches when his team is down 17 to zip in the first quarter. When’s the last time our defense held an opponent to LESS than 20 points?
November 30th, 2020 at 3:05 pm
Sooooooo…….why do they continue to take touches away and give them to Fournette? Why have there been games where they run the ball four times? How stupid do you think we are?
This team as a whole should be running the ball 30-35 times a game, but they continue to throw the ball incomplete every time they have a 3rd and short.
Pete Carroll knows that Russell Wilson is a top 3 QB in this league, and when that team is good they run the ball 30-35 times a game. When Wilson throws it 40 times a game, they lose.
If you commit to the run, everything in the passing game will fall into place. Arians doesn’t have the balls to put that kind of trust in his O-line and RB’s though.
Offensive lineman want to run the ball. Forcing them to pass block 45 times a game is a hard task, especially when you have a QB that can’t improvise with his legs and you have a left tackle that can’t kick slide to save his own life.
November 30th, 2020 at 3:46 pm
Gee, all of us idiot armchair fans have only been telling you this since LAST YEAR!!!
But hey glad to see Bullchit Bruce was able to figure it out after only playing 12 full games this season.
Maybe by next year he’ll figure out how timeouts work too.
And somehow, some people still claim our coaching staff is good. Some even say our OC is a “genius”…
November 30th, 2020 at 3:54 pm
Yup when i saw we had 3 timeouts left when we’re got three ball back before half, it showed how incompetent our clock management is.
Also stop calling 4 verts and a running back check down on 3rd and 3 you incompetent assholes.
Also play 2 deep safeties
November 30th, 2020 at 4:29 pm
NO SH!T!!! BA and Leftwich are a joke times pi.
November 30th, 2020 at 4:59 pm
Play action allows Brady to read the defense.
November 30th, 2020 at 5:03 pm
Guess what coach?? You could tell your seemingly inept Offensive coordinator that IN GAME…there’s a lot you could be communicating with him during the game that could have a great impact on the result of the game. Really disappointing reading this
November 30th, 2020 at 5:19 pm
What the Hell is wrong with Arians that he can’t see the main dam deal is so dam simple! YOU GOT TO Get “BETTER” “PROTECTION” for Brady every time I look up they the other Teams Deffence is in Brady’s Face he has no time to make good plays I can’t believe every one is so blind to it the Offence is not doing a good enough Job to get the job done again I have watched every game Brady has played since his starting game filling in for Bloodsoe Trust me you get Tom a little bit more time and Supperbowl bound you ha e to keep defences out of his face its that simple For Crying out loud try it get better guys in the middle or. Get more guys defending him you got to start there every thing else will fall in place You are so close to a real big time team here dont blow it now get bigger faster more experienced line men and center. I’m sure tome would help with it and for Pete sakes quit blaming every thing on him
November 30th, 2020 at 9:12 pm
1st series
Rojo up the gut for 7, pass, pass, punt
2nd series
Rojo up the gut for 6, pass, pass, punt
3rd series
Rojo up the gut for 7, pass, pass, punt
Hey!
Who said we had consistency problems?!
November 30th, 2020 at 10:23 pm
It’s a fair question to ask why RoJo has never been featured for an entire game. And where is K Vaughn, too?
November 30th, 2020 at 11:26 pm
@gp
Exactly!
1st down. Run!
2nd down. Run!
3rd and short?
Run it again!!!
Run the freaking ball for 3 quarters!
And let Fournette run it in the 4th!
December 1st, 2020 at 2:52 am
Isn’t Rojo #27
December 1st, 2020 at 2:54 am
Isn’t Rojo #27 …
Maybe that is a two … looks like a 3
December 1st, 2020 at 1:58 pm
Ray Charles could see that. He’s around 150 yards short of 1000 with 4 games to go. Thats while sharing the backfield and with us having a game in which the Bucs ran it 3 times along with several games that he mysteriously disappeared after starting strong. At this point I’d just be happy if our play calls weren’t so damn predictable.
