Eyesight still sharp.
When the Bucs needed park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, jet-ski-losing quarterback Tom Brady the most Monday night, Brady yacked on himself like a third-string Saints quarterback.
Jarrett Bell of USA Today was at the game and he wrote Brady’s awful play is getting to be too common.
The Bucs, Bell types, got Brady for a reason and it isn’t to fight for a wild card win or to be a one-and-done playoff team while freezing their nads off in northeastern Wisconsin in January.
The goals are bigger and Brady’s woeful inconsistency demonstrates, so Bell believes, that Brady is not living up to his end of the bargain.
No, it’s not all on Brady. Leonard Fournette kept dropping passes on Monday night. The protection was spotty. The Bucs’ secondary missed an abundance of tackles as receivers Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp combined for 23 catches and 275 yards, while Jared Goff repeatedly burned the blitzes on a 376-yard night.
But Brady didn’t have his A-game, either.
Too bad, Tampa Bay. The TB12 hype has turned into a super-sized tease.
Bell noted the excuses Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians has for Brady, about being new to the team, should be dried up after Week 11. That’s enough time and the NFL offseason schedule was the same for every team. Joe’s been typing that for weeks.
When Joe Burrow was ripping through defenses (with a rotten offensive line), and when Justin Herbert was re-writing rookie record books with his new team, that in Joe’s eyes made the Brady excuses pathetic.
Brady had two decades of experience in the NFL. Burrow and Herbert had zero.
Look, Joe thinks the Bucs could have gone to overtime and won Monday. Using short passes, Brady was moving the ball late. If Brady didn’t try to heave a long pass that was picked, who knows?
Brady’s long ball, at least for the time being, is completely shot. So long as the Bucs are hellbent on Brady winging it deep when he clearly doesn’t have it, grabbing a wild card berth just may be a struggle.

Deep ball is an essential part of this offense. I’m sorry nobody believed BA this off-season when he said he wouldn’t be changing the offense. Tom lies to himself that he can still make those throws and I don’t think anything is going to change that.

The old cheating goat “is not living up to his end of the bargain”?????? Who ever thinks this, did no research or watched the ole cheating goat the last two years!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the exact same player!!!!!!!!!!!! The differences are that the old cheating goat has better receivers and a much worse coaching staff!!!!!!!!!

I will say it until my dyeing days, if we had Bill Belichick or a competent coaching staff we be 10-0. Arians is a lazy and Leftwich is not skilled enough to go head to head against vet coaches.

Our defense, particularly the secondary is straight trash. They cant cover or tackle consistently. To give up a 35 yd gash before halftime to allow the Rams to get a FG is pitiful. They got torched by not one but two WRs who caught 10 balls each.
I think this team makes the playoffs but they aren’t going deep….this year. Next year seems like our chance.

run the ball, catch the ball, pass rush and tackle…a few things that were beyond Brady…he had a bad game but mostly he’s been the best player so far in previous games…going nowhere with no run game

Just so pissed at this team this is the first time I can remember we have been so stacked and we still can win our division. I always new our secondary was suspect but was hoping to put up more points. Play calling is just dumb and its funny how when ROJO fumbled he rode the bench but Fournette drops passes they keep him in the game and keep throwing to him. Just stupid.

Bucs knew EXACTLY what they were getting when they signed Tom Brady … a 43-year-old QB shooting for one last hurrah. He’s not the future, nor is he the type of QB that Bruce Arians’ ‘Bombs Away’ attack needed to show that it’s still relevant (it’s not BTW). Brady’s limitations at this point in his career are real, and our ‘game management by committee’ approach isn’t helping.
Bucs need a MFWIC, not a Delegator-In-Charge, when it comes to developing and running our offensive show. We’ve got ONE DC in charge on the defensive side of the ball, and we need ONE OC in charge on the offensive side. Whether that’s BA or BL or TB, I really don’t care.
The old saying ‘A camel is a horse built by a committee’ still applies.

This season is full with ups and downs, makes all the sense of the world….PLease don´t panic on the bads, and take the campagne of the fridge when we have stellar games………
Dont say Rojo White Davis III Dean and some more are specatucular in good games, neither kill them when they have a bad game, That includes Brady, Gronk and many other more……So, try not to be so Bi Polar…..Same with coaching….When Bucs have a good game Bowles and BL are gods, suddenly they are the encanation of evil……..Starts to get boring…..

Our worst flaw is inconsistency. You simply can’t be great if you’re inconsistent.
Yeah it starts with Brady but it’s all over the field almost every star from our #5 draft pick at MLB who has looked like a world beater at times with blazing speed that can erase certain gains to looking lost in coverage. INCONSISTENT
Vea is out…that has made Suh inconsistent which has led to spotty play from Shaq and even LVD and our DB’s are young and still experiencing growing pains and they are wildly INCONSISTENT.
Same on the O…D Smith…RB’s that can’t catch..and a QB who makes throws that are magical at times and then throws that are inexplicable at other times.
Brady epitomizes this team. He has been INCONSISTENT.
The one positive about being inconsistent is we’ve seen a preview of how good we CAN be. We have enough “good” stuff on the positive side of the ledger…now we need to cut way back on the bad stuff…the INCONSISTENCY!
Dinking and dunking and running the ball should improve consistency on offense.
On defense I wish Bowles had more trust in our talent. I want to puke every time I see a reception to a wide open target who simply looks for the seam in our freaking porous zone.
Lose the damn zone!!! We have two excellent safeties and cover corners and LB’s with reasonable skills.
MAN UP. Don’t confuse D White…give him a MAN to cover or let him blitz or cover the run but stop having him lost in space. Same for all of our DB’s.

Well said stpetebucsfan, you make great points!! I was about to be sick the other night with the D in that 1st half. Zone after zone after zone after zone! Why does it take a whole half to adjust!!!!! And then of course when our D clamps down in the 2nd half, our offense goes inept! Still waiting for our offense and defense to feed off each other against the better teams!!

Nobody can deny Brady’s accomplished career however his success in NE was a combination of his desire to win and hard work along with great coaching and great defense.
Now he is 43 with diminishing arm strength, very poor coaching and a defense that is suspect. He will always be the GOAT but not our GOAT.

One of the guys at the Sports Bar who is from Boston predicted some of this, when we got Brady.
All someone needs to do is watch, to realize Tom is not the Tom Brady of yesterday.
He is a poor fit for Arians offense, as he is demonstrating nearly every time he is asked to throw long.
We had plenty of time, and time outs on our final drive, to win the game by dinking and dunking down the field. The Rams even went to deep safety prevent defense. So, instead of taking what they were giving us, we tried a Bomb against a Prevent Defense.
And, it cost us the game!

The most concerning part about Bryon Leftwhitch as an OC is that he’s still trying to figure this job out. The Bucs are supposed to be in win now mode and we have an OC who doesn’t know how to call plays.

Stop blaming the coaches for Brady throwing deep and an awful interception because it was never coaches fault for Winston. Brate was not his only option he chose that bass pass fired not play well when facing a pass rush. Every team gives up pressure and sacks Brady is just folding under pressure

Brady is a fantastic addition to the team. The problem is the coaching staff don’t seem to share his commitment to excellence.
Remember the first drive of the season in New Orleans? That was all scripted NE-style plays and our offense was unstoppable. Bowles is too predictable and does not make timely adjustments. Leftwich’s play-calling does not match our offense’s strengths against the defense’s weakness.
And Arians? What exactly does he do? He doesn’t seem to have players prepared to play and doesn’t seem to be inspiring the team.
The Bucs have enough talent to win a Super Bowl but they won’t this year. Because the coaching staff do not know how to use it.

The late game pick was definitely on TB. He had the stop route wide the f open. Both sides btw, were open.
The first pick, that’s a combo of poor play design and pressure that altered his throw. Personally, it is the play design that was the bigger culprit.

Bobby M has a great point, Bucs got gashed by not one but two wide receivers ! We have arguably the best WR/TE Corp. ever put together in the NFL ! How is it that Tommy couldn’t find one of these receivers regularly. ME,CG, AB, CB, RG…. how is it one of these guys wasn’t open for a catch 70% or even 50% of the time. No team has enough quality corners/safeties to reliably cover 4-5 receivers !

And now you are seeing what I told you all long ago, the man is old, he has had his time. Yes his the goat but from the past. he looks like my grandad back there. And to think, we got another mediocre yr to exhault this dinosaur who will not take us anywhere. Should have moved up in the draft and got a youngster who can move around. But then again,,hey, it has always been.. A BucLife baby.

Sheesh. TB12 has had three bad games — out of 11. In the other 8, he has given us the greatest QB play we have ever seen: 18 TDs, 2 INTs, one fumble, superb poise, accuracy and leadership. He destroyed Aaron Rodgers and went 7-1 with a new team that has a vanilla, dogsh*t scheme with almost none of the crossing, rubs/picks/motion and quick slants he made his living on in NE (well covered topic in other threads, but this scheme is lame and BASIC af).
Stop betting against the GOAT. He has an insane record in games after losses.
He’s going to light it up this week.

joe why is the long ball shot? this has nothing to do with age or his arm strength. it is based on reading the defenses and not calling idiotic plays. his arm is fine and he can make deep balls. right now those two picks were just clearly bad throws and communication or breakdowns somewhere. this whole narrative is ridiculous. he has been bad but not due to lack of an arm.

If the defense would have blitzed some more maybe Goff wouldn’t be able to get all the plays off to Kupp. Not to mention all the missed tackles. I’m not placing the blame solely on the D, but they are not looking as sharp as they were in the beginning of the season. All hope is not lost though. 5 more games to go. If we can beat KC anything is possible!!!
