In what’s even more stunning than the Bucs run defense having a minor hiccup in tonight’s win against the Giants, the Bucs won a game on the back of their kicker.
You know it’s a unique season when the Bucs have a good kicker and win a road game in windy and cold conditions with behind four field goals. That’s what happened tonight as newcomer veteran Ryan Succop drilled field goals of 37, 40, 43 and 38 yards.
Through eight weeks, Succop has made 15 of 17 field goal attempts. That’s an 88 percent conversion rate, which is 13th-best in the NFL. (Didn’t you think it ranked better than that?)
Major love for Bucco Bruce Arians, Jason Licht and whoever had a hand or a foot in selecting Succop after the parade of garbage kickers the Bucs have trotted out for years.
Yeah, Joe may be jinxing the guy, but that’s doubtful. Succop has been that good.

Bucs played very vanilla tonight on both sides of the ball….
The game plan was vanilla so the players came out flat….
Getting the W is all that counts…

Yeah Fournette was disappointing for a lot of the night. Surprisingly pitching it out to him on the outside was the best play he had all night

Was actually a bit disappointed David didn’t make a bunch of huge plays on MNF. Almost had that one at the end there…. Was like where the heck is David?

Tge pitch out was an overlooked play…he appeared to get the first down. At least challenge…would have saved a lot of arse puckering!

Succop has not had a case of the yips yet, you can bet that Matt G, Cairo, Folk and Aguayo would have jaked at least one or more of those kicks. Yet 15 for 17 is 13th in the league, kind of middle of the road/average. This tells us just how bad the special teams have been in Tampa. If the Bucs had the 13th ranked kicker in the league last year they would have had a winning record and perhaps made the playoffs. So remind me again why Jason L has wasted draft picks on kickers??????

For some reason I’ve never felt like Joe had the power of the jinx. But Ira… that guy is like a Warlock. Everything he says scares the $hit out of me, especially when talking about injuries.

It’s only 13th because the bucs score a lot of touchdowns and he doesn’t have as many attempts as the others…. He’s still one of the best in the league right now!!! Good job on getting that monkey off your back Licht!!!

Succop is money. What huge difference a good kicker can make when a team is having a bad game. He deserves the game ball.

We should have never gotten rid of Cairo Santos, hes balling out for the Bears, would have saved us a draft pick, and won us some games last year, but then again with more wins, we probably wouldnt have been able to draft Wirfs.

That’s what I took from this game… our kicking has improved tremendously and can be relied upon to help win us games! Is this what other teams feel like with really good kickers? It’s great!

To me Brady is our best acquisition this year, but this dude is easily our second best.
