What a catch!
A key play in what turned out to be the drive that ended in a Mike Evans game-winning touchdown was a 20-yard catch by a Bucs rookie.
You will not find a much tougher catch than what Tyler Johnson hauled in over the middle with 9:49 left in the game.
Johnson caught the pass from Brady right past the first down marker over the middle and Johnson got absolutely clobbered by Giants’ defensive back Logan Ryan. Lit up!
Joe fully expected the ball to go flying in the air or at minimum, dropped. But Johnson hung on. Bucco Bruce Arians gushed about the play after the game.
If Johnson is hearing cuckoo clocks on the flight home from New Jersey this morning, Joe wouldn’t be surprised.
For Joe, to see a rookie take that kind of hit and hang on to the pass, was so impressive. After a few games, Joe can understand why Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians became smitten with Johnson watching him at the Outback Bowl this past January.
Joe has a hunch this Johnson is going to be a damn solid receiver.

More Tyler is better for this team, at least until AB gets acclimated to the playbook and game plan (he and Brady might be out throwing passes tonight when he gets in)

For sure that was one of the most critical plays of the game. I was also impressed with McMickens tonight. He really stepped up and was getting seperation all night. Converted a few very critical 1st downs. Was even seen running wide open twice and Bradytotally missed him.

Not sure why anyone is smitten with Fournette. For a big fast guy that runs hard, he is awfully easy to tackle. He is clearly our 2nd best RB. Rojo should’ve been back in the game.

Well Watson better buckle down and work hard. he’s found himself on the bubble with both Johnson and Mickens being in the 4 wide sets. Think special teams is only time he saw the field. Im loving what I’m seeing outta Johnson and Mickens (so sure handed and decent returner).
One thing that really pissed me off? Every single first down with a lead is up the gut Fournette…. Especially after a punt… Like it was getting rediculous.

What was with Tyler barely playing until the 4th quarter?
Scotty Miller… 6 targets = 37 yards, not good.
Mickens… 7 targets = 38 yards, even worse.
I thought Mickens was OK actually, but I don’t get why he was out there seemingly more than Johnson.
As for Scotty, no one is more benefited by having AB on this team than Scotty Miller. The dude is a weapon WHEN he’s down the depth chart – just like Humphries was. But when you have to start Miller, he disappears. It’s not a knock, it just is what it is. Having Miller as your 4th or 5th receiving option makes him a lot more dangerous.

Brandon – Rojo should have certainly been back in there on short yard runs, the guy runs really hard and doesn’t have the dancing feet issue that Fournette has. But if you turn the ball over, Arians punishes you, it’s what he learned coming from the Ray Perkins coaching tree.

Yeah was frustrated no Rojo. Felt bad for him as he was trying to get up and timing was bad for him.. but still needs to hold on… Still feel he gave us a lot more when out there.

Oh and took way too long and not consistent enough attacking those seams .. their gameplan was clearly to defend the sides and deep part of the field .. was giving us the underneath over the middle but took too long to recognize… We have also been sending Evans deep too much this year I feel

I thought the Giant’s pass coverage was very good tonight…..the two sacks on Brady were coverage sacks……and they batted away several deep passes to Scotty & others…….

The game was tight, ROJO has not proven he can be trusted to catch the ball. If you want to be on the field, it is not just BA being old school, it is the GOAT also. With the game on the line and your hands are a liability Tom Terriific is not throwing you the ball. Like it or not Fournette is more reliable.Everyone has watched how Brady likes to dump the ball to the Backs throughout his career, so they better be able to catch or they will be on the sideline, especially with games being tight or when yhe game is on the line. GO BUCS!!!!

Some “fans” wanted Sean Murphy-Bunting benched last week, now want Jamel Dean benched. If you watch football, all NFL CB’s get beat at times. The rules are stacked in favor of the offense, unlike when I was a kid.

When you let guys run right by you while you’re still looking at the qb trying to jump a route you’re going to get roasted. When you only have 2 guys, Davis and Winfield who can actually break up passes there’s going to be a lot of receptions. When you give a 10 yard cushion and they run a one step slant there’s no hope your gonna stop too many people. Without pressure this secondary can’t cover a $2 bet!

No doubt rules have changed. What would Haynes & Hayes do these days….
The rules r stacked in the WR advantage it’s hard to stop them all the time
They will continue to grow. Wish rules went back to early 90’s. Let the DB’s hand fight a little more to make it more even of a matchup.

What I saw as Game Truths:
1. The Giants came in with a great game plan against us.
Much better than anyone thought they would.
2. Both sides of the ball for the BUCS played flat and
uninspired for far too much of the game.
3. Tyler Johnson is slowly but surely becoming a real
threat. When the season is over he will likely be thought
of as a fifth round steel!
4. NEVER count Brady out!
5. The BUCS continue to prove they can make big plays
when we really need it.
6. We need answers as to why a 1 win team was able to totally shut down our run game! Play calling?
Final thought… While thankfully we found a way to win this game our whole team still took a big bite of humble pie on MNF! I genuinely hope we are able to chanel that into an effective game plan against the Saints! Go BUCS!

I agreed until I had a chance to watch the game again. The offense actually had some nice play action passes in the second half, in part, because the Giants were sitting on the run between the tackles.

ROJO fumbled and rode pine. Accountability.
ROJO literally cannot catch a football and we wanted an RB option.
