Well, the Bucs are arguably the hottest team in the NFC. They are facing the NFC’s version of the Jets, the Giants, who also foul the same stadium the Bucs are playing in tonight.
Consider, the Twitter account @NFL_Stats — which is not affiliated with the NFL — pumps out interesting nuggets. Below is one.
Entering this weekend’s games, the Bucs have the fourth-best touchdown percentage of teams entering the red zone.
The Giants allow the fourth-highest touchdown percentage in the NFL.
So Joe thinks it is fair to assume if the Bucs get inside the Giants-20 this evening, you can go ahead and put it on the board, six!

Titans – 80.0%
Browns – 79.17%
Buccaneers – 78.57%

Despite having the GOAT at the helm, as a Bucs fan with my 3 decades of PTSD I never presume 6 pts are a red zone inevitability. But the stats are encouraging news!

Anyone remember Todd Monken and the “We chose to suck” line when explaining why the Bucs offense had trouble in the RedZone. It sure is nice to have the Master playing QB for the Bucs. GO BUCS!!!!!

We used to lose games like this, like we did last year. I hope that the Brady-effect includes not playing down to the level of our competition. Hopefully, that ended in Chicago. If we can accomplish that, the only other possible L is Kansas City even though we’re capable of beating them too

First time we will be seeing the red and pewter unis tonight, and it’s going to be beautiful and glorious under those lights when we thunder punch New York in the throat. It is absolutely imperative we do so and imperative we beat New Orleans next week. The bears losing helps us sure – but New Orleans now owns 2 tie breakers against us. Hey, not too early to think about that stuff. We need to beat the living crap out of New Orleans next week and take care of business tonight. Then we will see what happens against KC

Would also point out that we have capitalized on a high percentage of
turnovers by our defense in or near the endzone .

Some credit goes to the defense which has set up the offense with extra chances for easy scores. IMO, we have not shown this ability to capitalize so frequently until this year.

BTW Joe, seems like quite a few JBFers are attributing our success thus far this season almost exclusively to Tom Brady. No question in my mind that The GOAT deserves all of the accolades that he’s received, but the Bucs are much more than just 1 player. IMO, we really are approaching being a COMPLETE TEAM for the 1st time, oh ya, ever. And that bodes well for the future (hopefully).
Bucs are now #2 in terms of Points Scored per game, and #6 in Points Allowed per game (and #1 in Yards Allowed per game). Our S/Ts are being very consistent. We’re playing great COMPLIMENTARY FOOTBALL (we’ve scored 8 TDs & 2 FGs … 62 pts of our 222 total pts … off of the 12 turnovers that we’ve generated). THAT’S awesome.
I think what’s really different about this year’s team is everyone’s making plays when they’re needed. IOW, no glaring weaknesses in our starting units for opponents to key on. That’s huge from my perspective and a significant departure from years past. Granted we don’t have the depth in all position groups that I’d like at least, but we’ve got much better depth for the most part than we’ve had in many years.
We’ve given The GOAT a LOT to work with IOW, and that’s a very good thing because he’s taking full advantage of it right now.

What’s different this year is EVERYTHING- D is better, OLine is better, Kicker is better, Run game is better, Turnovers are better.
Don’t take Giants for granted- a turnover or 2 could swing momentum.

I think you misread that joe. The giants redzone scoring is 4th worse. As in on offense. Not td ALLOWED. At least according to this tweet you showed.

This is wrong, the giants opponents have scored a TD on 53.33% of trips to the redzone in 2020, good enough for 6th best in the leauge. Their defense is not bad. Their offense is 4th worst. For comparison the bucs are allowing 57% td in red zone. You are underestimating this defense.

A week or so ago, Joe was calling this a Cup Cake game. Now he’s saying red zone incursions tonight will result in a TD. I’m not superstitious, but those statements are a surefire way to jinx this game. Good to have confidence, but nothing is assured! Let’s just go up there, play sound complimentary football, and hope for a W. Then, get our asses back and prepare for a truly pivotal game next week with the Saints.

31-9 final score… Brady throws 2 TDs, one to Gronk and another to Evans, Rojo gets another score on a long run of at least 30 yards but other than that they don’t get a whole lot of ground game going….. Defense gets 6 sacks and 2 picks with Murphy bunting finally getting lucky and nabbing one because of the constant PRESSURE… JOE!!…. JPP gets 2 sacks as does Barret…. The second pick will happen later in the game and will be returned for a TD by Lavonte David!! And the kicker will be a perfect 1-1 on their first score of the night which will be a field goal!!!….. And there ya have it!!

Defense Rules Says:

Well – the secondary is still a bit suspect results wise thus far in 2020 – but I’m pretty sure thats more from a lack of experience than talent…….
The Bucs are indeed one of the more complete teams in the league this year and I am reminded of numerous debates the past few years between DR and ‘ol Pick regarding the ‘team building’ capabilities of GM Licht….
I always maintained that 10 straight years of terrible drafting by Bruce Allen and Dom along with 7 years of perpetual bad coaching and decision making by Rah, Schiano and Lovie had Jason Licht starting this job in a very deep hole with a very bare cupboard of young talent.
And yet – over time – which it was always going to take – Licht slowly but surely drafted his way out of that gaping hole and more recently started hitting gold on his FA and trade acquisitions as well with the likes of JPP, Barrett, Suh, Brady, Gronk etc…
Yea – its likely that BA and Bowles have had positive influence on the good drafting, decision making and FA acquisitions the last couple years – but its time for all who were disparaging Jason Licht the last 4 or 5 years to now admit that he has done a very good job of building this team into one that is truly capable of competing for a Championship. NOW! And likely for some years to come….
Bucs havent won didly yet – but the 5-2 record, 1st place standing in the division and excellent back to back showings against good teams like GB and LV shows us that this 2020 Bucs team is indeed capable of competing for a home Super Bowl appearance.
Having the GOAT at QB don’t hurt none – LOL – even if he is “old”…..
