Joe is taking a moment here to thank Bucs fans in advance as October comes to its close.
Joe is marching toward/past 2 million pages viewed this month on JoeBucsFan.com, which is a nice bonus around here for an October.
Heck, October is usually the month when Joe and fellow Bucs fans start talking draft and some fans traditionally stop caring much about the team after another early-fall disappointment.
This year, it’s a Halloween filled with ecstasy rather than depression.
And damn, it feels so good.
Joe got a letter about 10 days ago from a Bucs fan that said he deserted the team following the 2015 season.
The guy explained that the Tennessee-ready game, opening day of 2015, really pushed him over the edge and by that season’s end he quit the Bucs after 20 years of fandom. But this year, he’s back.
Joe’s gotten similarly-themed emails this year, as well. And that’s a new phenomenon. Usually, Joe gets letters from fans explaining why they’ve given up on the Bucs and that thank Joe for entertaining and informing them through the years.
As a 24/7 Bucs fan, Joe’s just happy it’s fun to be a fan again following the Bucs tease of 2016.
Again, Joe is taking a moment to express thanks to readers, and for the swell of interest here this month. Yeah, that even goes to the moronic haters who think Joe enjoys some form of satisfaction from writing about Bucs struggles, failures and losses.
Joe can assure those folks that not only is Joe a crazed Bucs fan loving what’s happening on the field, but winning is the greatest gift for any business associated with a sports team.

Frankly Joe, I would have thought you’re popping more than 2 million page views a month as someone who understands the industry. I don’t know any fans who aren’t reading, at least nobody at our tailgate. Some of them think you suck but they still read. 🙂

I come here every day, several times a day. That should be obvious, as I used to just read but for a while now I’ve been commenting. It’s like we’re in your living room and you’re serving up the chips and salsa and beers and talking Bucs.

I come here a few times a day to see if my posts actually get thru Joes censor filter. Even though They are clean with no profanity and only speak facts not hyperbole or outright fiction or lies at least half are outright rejected. Lesson here ladies NEVER cross Joe or any of his treasured contributors.
Hundreds of comments are automatically and manually rejected here daily. Words are filtered, hate speech, all kinds of things, and hundreds of commenters have been blocked/banned over the years. You can call that “censorship” but there’s certainly nothing unAmerican about it. If this were a pizza restaurant or a liquor store, there would be restrictions on what you can do inside the business. Heck, call a talk radio show to comment and you get screened. It’s been like that for 50+ yearss. It’s really no different here, Joe always encourages readers to go elsewhere if they want to maliciously slander Joe, players and others, among many other things that don’t work here. There are many forums and outlets to do that. Sometimes your type of comment appears and the comment that prompted it later appears. –Joe

I didn’t realize how numb I’ve gotten about football until this year. Was never really pissy other than on game days but I didn’t know I had gotten numb. I’m watching and enjoying NFL network again. I’m listening to and enjoying sports talk radio again. I’m enjoying Joe Bucs Fan even more too.

Plus you have Ira the Sage, the best damn sports columnist in Tampa for as long as I can remember, and everyone’s favorite player Mr. Derrick Brooks. You can’t lose. The only way you can get better is if you get Brady on here after he retires with 2 or 3 more rings. GO BUCS!

Congrats Joes! I check in at least once every day. I listen to every Ira podcast. And yes, I’m also working on my Bucs PTSD after 40 plus years of mostly “snatch defeat from the jaws of victory” football. To everyone… enjoy every second of this while we have it!

Really Joe? Nothing Un-American about censorship??? Wow!!! Craziest statement ever put forth.
??American media and the judicial system have been censoring photos for 200+ years. Joe actually knows quite a bit about this topic. In the late 1700’s, it became illegal under federal law to criticize a government official without proving the claims in court. People even went to jail for it. There are many, many other examples.–Joe

On the grand scale, yes, a complete afterthought. But if that was completely true, Joe would only monitor comments in the moderation queue once or twice a day instead of almost round-the-clock like Joe currently does. Gotta sleep sometimes.
