Brown And Bucs “Very Close”

October 23rd, 2020

Questions.

Remember what happened earlier this week that Joe said got his antennae straight up?

Earlier this week the Bucs reworked Ali Marpet’s contract to free up some $4 million dollars. Joe thought for sure the Bucs were looking to make a trade of some sort.

But now comes word from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network that the cash freed up by reworking Marpet’s contract was done because at the very same time, the Bucs were negotiating with nutcase/cancer Antonio Brown to join the team.

Something weird is going on here. Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians was adamant earlier this year how much he was against Brown coming to the Bucs.

What happened?

Something tells Joe that the Bucs are not confident Mike Evans and/or Chris Godwin can return to being 100 percent after being hobbled for most of the season.

Evans and Godwin will be fine. If AB performs at the level he was before this will be HUGE!!!

  2. Brad Says:

We need to win now and let them rest up

  3. Mitch Says:

That’s what they moved the money around for

  4. Daryl Green Says:

    That is absolutely gorgeous
    Thanks Joe.( fist bump)

  5. Jeagaoin1999 Says:

With any other QB, I’d say HELL NO…..but “In Brady I Trust”!!

I just hope he can be productive and professional! This isLITTERALY HIS LAST CHANCE!

“Something weird is going on here.”

The only thing weird is losing Godwin and Evans for 3 games last year and that costing Winston his job. This year Godwin and Evans are both hurt again. Do you think Brady wants to know what it’s going to look like to have Watson as a starting WR, like Winston had to deal with? No.

Brady wants Brown, Brady gets Brown. You brought in Brady because you want to win NOW. I want to win NOW.

This is a great signing – and if I’m wrong, you cut him. It’s not like he’s getting $15m/year or something, he’s probably going to get like $2-3m. If you think Brady ever wants to throw the ball to Cyril Grayson again, you’re a dope.

I love it, because I’m a winner who wants to win. People who are against this are people who think words hurt and being a “good sport” is more important than winning. Go sit an empty stadium watching a 3-13 team if you’re a “good sport” guy, make sure to prepay for your season tickets.

I was never in favor of this move. Now, seeing the way the team is progressing and seeing improvement; I understand that this is the year if we ever gonna make to the big dance. Now…….is whatever it takes to get there!!…plus I have this slight feeling that at this point in his life; Brown should know what’s better for him, so he should behave. (fingers crossed)

  8. BucEmUp Says:

Im.fine with it as long as he keeps his mouth shut and performs

  9. No Risk It No Biscuit Says:

I think your last paragraph nailed it Joe.

Hopefully A. Brown will make the most out of this opportunity.

Licht better play it smart on this contract.

Rapoport says AB arrives in Tampa tonight and will be eligible to play Week 9 against the Saints. (Meanwhile Michael Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, and
Bennie Fowler are all inactive for various disabilities this week.)

  11. Bucsfanatic29 Says:

I like this move. Evans has been injured and has been playing injured and while Godwin was back, he still was not %100 healthy and so we were having to use backups. I think this a good move. Hopefully Brown has Shaped up and grown up at the same time. I didn’t;t like Such at first but he’s become such a great addition to our defense. I think Brown could do the same.

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Can AB rush the passer……seems to me, we have enough at WR…….but WTFDIK

  13. BridleOaksBuc Says:

This also keeps him from going to Seattle, which the Bucs may be in a dog fight for in regards to home field advantage and a first round bye. Remember, only one team in each conference gets a first round bye. This is a pure chess move by the Bucs.

  14. EA Says:

Bucs have nothing to lose here, if he becomes his old self show him the door.
I hope he has wisen up.

  15. Bird Says:

The dude is a tool He is a cancer. Cant stand the guy
    Just like TO

But TO could still produce at the end
Not in favor of it but i get it …they must know someone is probably not going to be healthy this year

Evans – high ankle sprain can be worse then actual fracture
Godwin – tweaked hammy sometimes does not get right without a lot of time off

If brady can control him cool
But have that child on a short leash

  16. Mitch Says:

I hope this works out. My gut says no. Especially because of what BA said earlier this offseason about how AB is not a locker room fit.

  17. Rod Munch Says:

Tampabaybucfan – So what all-pro pass rusher do you propose the Bucs sign for $2m? Like which ones are sitting at home waiting on the phone to ring?

  18. WyomingBucsFan Says:

Couldn’t have said it better Rod Munch!

  19. Blu Says:

Team is gonn be even more difficult to defend with AB, Mike, Chris, and Gronk on the field at the same time. How do you defend that. You guys weapons now will be on par with KC

  20. Rod Munch Says:

People are such dullards. You sign AB, if he’s a headache, you cut him. That’s how it works. Brady is a big boy and understands that.

Brady also understands that when Scotty Miller was called on to start, he couldn’t get open and had zero receptions. He understands that he’s thrown the ball to Watson like 6 times, and 2 times it was an INT returned for a TD because Watson was lazy and rounded off his route. He saw what happens when you throw the ball to Cyril Grayson. He also saw what happened to Winston down the strech last year as Godwin and Evans missed the entire end of the season and cost him his job.

WR depth is a HUGE issue on this team. The Bucs lost in Chicago because of WR depth. Evans was playing on one leg, our top WR was Tyler Johnson. That’s not how you win a SB.

  21. gofortheface30 Says:

To everyone clutching their pearls and hiding their wives and children – there is zero risk. Joe also made a very good point and what i, anf other commenters have mentioned: Mike Evans has been NON EFFECTIVE. He looks like a SHELL of himself. He looks..slow, cant get open. Some of you can bury your head in the sand and pretend that its open Brady just “spreading ball around brah” but the reality is that Brady came down here because of Evans and Godwin. They both havent really looked right to be frank. We’re trying to win a superbowl here, not be friends. This could give the bucs some latitude to put both receivers on the shelf for a month

  22. gofortheface30 Says:

Rod Munch: THANK YOU. You said it better than I

  23. AtlBuc Says:

Joe!! I told you this a few days ago!!

  24. Youngbucs Says:

Rod munch Winston cost his self his job shut up about him already Jesus Christ

  25. SOEbuc Says:

If you wanna win a Super Bowl now, not gonna happen with a banged up Evans and Godwin all year. You bring any BS and you’re gone.

  26. Dapostman Says:

I wonder who is going to be shown the door once A Brown is on the roster?

  27. Joe Says:

I wonder who is going to be shown the door once A Brown is on the roster?

The track star who never played college football.

  28. Iamabuc Says:

I’m here thinking that we’ll get to see the real AB once he score first TD and/or first good game….you guys know how stuff like that goes to his head from 0 to 100 in 3seconds , bring on the cameras and the mike and he transforms into this 7 year old kid that we all frown upon…🤣🤣🤣

  29. adam from ny Says:

    @ bird

does evans really have a high ankle sprain???

that takes a lot of time to get right…

never heard or saw that reported anywhere before…supposed to be just a bad ankle that’s healing
