Gerald McCoy Vs. Manbeast Ndamukong Suh
March 2nd, 2010That headline almost sounds like a 1960s Japanese horror flick like “Godzilla vs. Mothra.”
For Bucs fans, they lay awake at night dreaming of one of those monsters falling into the Bucs hands, like Joe does waiting for Rachel Watson to lungeĀ into his arms.
Mike Florio, the creator, curator and overall guru of ProFootballTalk.com has a video in which he throws a bucket of cold water onto Bucs fans’ fantasies, daring to suggest one of the two if not both could well be busts.
You be the judge.

As he says, we won’t really know until they are on an NFL field against NFL players. I don’t think either will be a Ryan Leaf, and yes, the Rams take Bradford if his pro day is positive.

Aside from that ………..you sure have some nice photos of Rachel!

It all basically comes down to this: either the rams draft bradford depending on his next workout or not, which means we choose between berry and mccoy. I say forget about everyone saying 3 is too high for a safety, if he is anywhere close to reed and polamalu, its well worth it. Take berry, which means we have talib, jackson, and berry. Then trade our 2nd second rd pick to denver for marshall. if they dont think thats enough in this deep draft, we draft the best WR and DL available in 2nd.
I dont know why, but i think suh will fall in our laps with bradford and the (best OT) going next (Okung, etc.), if that happens, everything will fall in place with Suh, DE, and marshall in the first 2. If Dominik and Raheem pull this scenario, I will say they succeeded and buy season tickets immediately. Too bad i live in MD.

While I respect the folks at PFT for putting up a fine website (2nd only to joebucsfan.com) I would prefer to listen to the analysts who study the film of the players. PFT is good at getting news out, not breaking down film. Stick to your guns PFT and let the Mike Mayock’s of the world do the analyzing. I’ll trust his judgement over ex lawyers any day of the week.

When you look at the stats of Suh and McCoy side by side , and remember they played all the same teams , I think you are hard-pressed to make a case that McCoy is better. Suh has more tackles , more sacks , more tackles for loss, more everything. In fact he almost DOUBLES all McCoy’s #’s. Then when you factor in the combine #’s it’s even more convincing.
That being said , I am praying that McCoy turns out to be a beast , because it’s almost assured that he is the tackle that will be left on the board when we select. (and one of them will , because Bradford is going to go 1st)

I agree. They can hype McCoy all they want, but Suh beats him in every faucet of the game. I don’t think he will be there either. But even if he is, will these tight-assed owners want to pay him? That is the question.
