Tom Brady On Pace For 37 TDs, 10 Interceptions

If it’s still unclear for anyone why the Buccaneers rejected the Saints’ backup quarterback for Tom Brady, Joe’s not sure what to say.
Last year, Jameis Winston gave the ball away to opposing defenses like it was Halloween candy. Sure, the Bucs coaching staff and a crap running game did the guy no favors. But nobody ordered Jameis to make horrid decisions and throw 30 interceptions.
In comes Brady, and the guy doesn’t force a screen, doesn’t feel pressure to make throws that aren’t there, and he stays patient when it comes to deep shots. And like magic, the Bucs aren’t handing over the ball a Rays fans throwing confetti.
Through six games, Brady is on pace for 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions this season. Assuming he stays on pace or, say, finishes with 32 TDs and 12 picks, the Bucs haven’t seen a season like that since Josh Freeman shocked the NFL with 25 touchdowns and 6 interceptions in 2010.
Joe is really enjoying the peace of mind that comes with this kind of quarterback play. And a play that will be deservedly overshadowed in today’s blowout win was Brady throwing an absolute precision rope to Scotty Miller on a deep ball late in the third quarter. Miller drew a 40-yard pass interference penalty and two plays later Ronald Jones had a 1 yard touchdown run.
Yeah, Brady took a long time to throw the home run ball … because he didn’t have to and didn’t force it. And when it did come, it was a thing of beauty.

2 things so far this year you don’t have to worry about and as a fan it’s really been nice to see….. Brady is protecting the ball and he’s making a lot of great decisions. The second thing….. having a kicker that keeps making kicks and you don’t have to wonder if he’ll miss 3-4 a game for no reason.
One thing Brady needs to do though is start throwing the ball to Evans. Just throw to him and he’ll go up and get em. If you get Evans the ball early he’ll stay in the game and be a monster! Throw him the dang ball!!

37/10 is great but it won’t matter unless the Bucs make it to the Super Bowl. Do a Cincy Bengal playoffs and bounced after one game just won’t cut it. That will be a major disappointment.

Anyone that doesn’t GET IT that our Defense has improved because of Brady is DUMB.
Brady plays with poise & patience. He often puts together long time-consuming drives. He’s methodical. This keeps the Defense RESTED and off the field.
The other thing Brady does with not turning the ball over a lot like Jameis did, is that the opponent’s AVERAGE STARTING FIELD POSITION is much worse than it was with Jameis. How does anyone that knows anything about football not get this?
When you force your Defense to defend a short field, it takes more energy, confidence, and focus out of them. It’s also mentally DEFLATING when they work so hard only to have their QB give the ball away.
Brady also has all these guys playing with more CONFIDENCE and swagger (like someone else mentioned in another thread). They have the GOAT QB leading the team. Anyone that thinks this doesn’t make teammates play better needs to go watch another sport.
BRADY has made our Defense better and also our Running Game.

Since this article wants to compare QBs please point out the last time we had zero penalties, had a back run for over a hundred yards, scored a defensive TD, made all of our kicks (including a 50 harder), gave up zero sacks and had a defense that shut down one of the best offenses in the NFL?
Oh yeah let’s also ask the question when is the last time we could throw for a paltry 166 and win a game, much less by 4 TDs.

Go search Twitter for Greg Auman’s tweet on December 30, 2019.
In that tweet he confirms that statistic that Bucs Opponents in 2019 had the BEST STARTING FIELD POSITION compared to another team’s opponents.
That means due to all of Jameis’ turnovers, he gave opponents great field position.
Starting Field Position is often one of the #1 predictors of what team will win a football game. It’s not rocket science.
So if you don’t think BRADY already makes this team better, you know very little about football.

That HE makes the running game better. How do you not GET IT?
When you can’t load 8 in the box because you have to keep men in coverage or Brady will pick you apart, it opens up the running game. Defenses did the opposite to Winston. They loaded people in the box daring Winston to beat them on his own because they know he’s inconsistent.

Winston would of pannicked and sailed it for a pick6 like he did 3 times last year and that would of started the comeback.
It would of been similar to the capital city collapse and that Raiders debacle a few years ago.

NDog…these are completely different teams? The only difference is Winfield Jr and Tristan (Gronk now isn’t as good as Howard). Oh, and the defense doesn’t have to defend short fields because of INTs. The opposing defense can’t key on the runs because Brady will make them pay with an efficient throw. Jameis Winston had 5 years, a couple times with top-5 offenses and last year a hell of a defense the second half. Your fandom for Jameis is blinding you to all this. ALSO, the Bucs wanted Jameis back BUT THERE WAS ONLY ONE PLAYER WHO COULD REPLACE HIM (6 rings). Think of it like that. The board thinks you’re a Jameis fan and not a Bucs fan.

How many games that we were winning late in the 4th quarter and the defense gave up the game ? Winston didn’t have a run game and zero help from defense that gave up points even when we didn’t turn it over. Winston threw 5000 yards and 30 tds with no running back help and zero blocking on the blind side. Brady is doing good cause the defense and run game is great so stop being brown nosers.
Read the book Jameis1of1 and you’ll see the truth we wasted talent for Brady. And it was the right move but I would have put winston on the bench one year behind Brady if they really wanted Brady. Ling story short bucs had a horrible defense and run game before Brady. Are defense was going down hill before winston that’s why we got the number one pick and we took to long to find the right coach and defense coach and running back. You guys are not football savy just dick riders kidding Brady ass. If we dominate it’s because the defense and run game is vastly improved. Offense besides Rojo looks horrible thank God for Rojo devin and David shaq and the gang. Brady is still ok but jameis would have been a long term win with our defense and run game this year. I mean without blocking, without a WR running the correct route no QB can produce. Yet we are judging them all by the results acting like it is solely them, good or bad.
I mean Brady played great today no doubt BUT if the oline didn’t play well would he have played well? If Gronk did make that great catch in the end zone would he have looked that great.

We are ranked number one in defense . We are not a top 3 offense like we was last year . How many yards do Evans have he will not get a 1,000 yards this year . So do you think he will want to stay here ? Again if we keep this same type of offense Rosen will fit in great . A very different story this year in Week 6. Last year in London against the Panthers in week 6 when Jameis had a very bad game again, is was the beginning of the end of for him. This year week 6 becomes a turning point and a shift in the balance of power in the NFC. The demolition job, seal clubbing, alley beat down, curb stomping of the Packers was fun to watch. It was after the week 6 debacle in London last year that the Bucs began to lookin earnest at their options for a different QB. It is nice to have consistent play from the QB. There is one simple word that separates the G O A T and Jameis, that word is TRUST. Like Joe said it is nice to have peace of mind about “Mr 6 Rings” QB play. GO BUCS!!!!!!!

My god, just stop it. I supported Jamies while he was here but if you can’t see the extreme difference in play (and quit saying more talent this year and better running game, Whirfs is ONLY difference and O-line is only marginally better, and is better specifically due to Brady’s play) then you are either intellectually dishonest or biased. Stop making yourselves look stupid and just be happy we have a competitive team we can root for. Also nice to fine out what their aliases are. As stated correctly earlier, a perfect example, screen play to the left, nothing there with pressure, Brady dirts it. Jameis in EXACT same play last year against Niners, throws it up where he hopes back will be, Sherman picks it off for an EASY pick six. Nothing shows the difference between these two than that. Why am a even responding to this? This argument is BY FAR the most asinine exercise I’ve ever participated in. Stop being an idiot, for your own sake.

Brady isn’t as flashy as Jameis and not as mobile, but he is a more intelligent and smarter playing qb than he is. He plays with his mind as much as his body something Jameis can’t do. Jameis doesn’t study, he just works hard plus he never learns from his mistakes. He is too inconsistent and too careless with the football just too many turnovers. I wish you people would move on or find a site with people who share your same beliefs than coming up here constantly with your whining with your same spiel. This is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers not Jameis Winston Buccaneers. Does it really matter what is fair or unfair to anyone??? All that matters is we play well and win. Off the field I don’t think that “Out of sight, out of mind” was a bad dude, but he did make some bad decisions. On the field he simply wasn’t good enough. His spectacular plays could not make up for his buffoonish plays. Brady is a breath of fresh air and his qb play is something that I have never consistently seen on this team.

I’ll take this point another step. You don’t need 5,000 yards to succeed at QB. Brady took what was there and moved the offense efficiently. So what 166 yards?! Check the score board!

Ndog…know you don’t want to admit it…but newsflash…Jameis has a off field problem character track records as well. Now that might not be of concern in presidential elections, I grant you. But we are talking about a QB being the face of the franchise. And because of that, he has to play better than the other QB’s you mentioned to earn the same starting position. And unfortunately, he really hasn’t with any consistency.
