Kurt Warner Explains Tom Brady Problems
October 12th, 2020Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner looks at Tom Brady’s struggles and nods his head. The gesture is two parts understanding and one part disbelief.
Warner was barking on NFL Network about the new Brady, the Tampa Brady through five games. He sees the good, but he sees Brady’s two pick-6’s, uncomfortable play and the four-finger salute play in Chicago and Warner says he understands.
“We’re seeing things that are uncharacteristic,” Warner said on Total Access. “I’m telling you guys, when you get into a new offense, when you have to start thinking, your not just reacting any more, you’re trying to translate what’s going on in this new language that you’re speaking, certain things that have been accustomed to Tom Brady are going by the wayside. Because he’s overthinking things, and he’s trying to get comfortable but it takes time to get there.”
Warner later repeated that Brady is not comfortable.
Joe sure hopes Brady gets comfortable in a hurry. Last year, Jameis Winston found himself in a new offense and a new language. He had numbers very similar to Brady through five games before nosediving in Week 6 and beyond.
The Jameis lovers don’t talk about it, but Jameis had 22 touchdowns and 25 interceptions from Week 6 to the finish line last season.

We will be fine.

Our offense is so blah. Same old 12 personnel. can we spread the o line out once in a while? No creative plays being called or shown. No motion. We are so damn predictable. This is not an offense for this day and age. Just look at the top teams. Never can guess what’s coming. Stop being so boring.

‘Jameis fans’? They still exist?
October 12th, 2020 at 1:03 pm
When will the lost decade end?? My 10-year-old routinely says “The Bucs suck daddy” when I am wasting my time watching this mess.

Biggest issue against Chicago was the extremely poor pass protection. The entire league knows that the way to beat Brady is to get constant pressure on him. They also know that LT is our weakest link. If we can’t figure out how to pass block better than this is going to be a 6-10 to 7-9 season unfortunately.
October 12th, 2020 at 1:16 pm
Brady does look very uncomfortable out there, to be expected by a guy who has the same playbook for 2 decades. I can imagine how tough it is to change after that long

Great coaches build and/or alter their systems to fit with players skills and abilities. Baltimore is a perfect example. Why on earth wouldn’t you use the system Brady is comfortable with, especially with checks and audibles, is really stupid. At the end of the day none of us know what is going on behind the scenes, but this organization signaled to the fan base they were all in and from the looks of things, this is at best an 8-8 team.

Thats Bruce’s offense. Its outdated for today’s game, and takes years for QBs to master. Fans that have been forgiving Tom’s mistakes, while condemning Jameis’ need to take their blinders off. This isn’t a qb friendly system year 1. Biggest difference i see is that last year, we had no choice but to go pedal to the metal every week. Our defense couldn’t be relied upon to routinely get stops. Tom’s situation is completely different. Our offense can afford to stall for an entire half, as long as we play TO-free. D is capable of shutting down teams late in the game.

Media ignores he tore his knee up in week 6
October 12th, 2020 at 1:44 pm
Also dudes kept running wrong routes after week 6 and Oj howard still had butterfingers too.
October 12th, 2020 at 1:54 pm
Using the system Brady USED TO BE comfortable with, isn’t going to happen. You think Brady has some hidden playbook under his shirt he’s been waiting to unveil? Do I believe Brady has plays he wants to run? Yes, and I’m sure he has already, but he’s not here to be an OC, he’s here to learn a new system and find ways to win in it.

This article quickly turned into a reforendum of Jameis. He’s gone stop talking about him.

Jaywill please knock it off and your boy ndog likes to cherry-pick articles to comment on just like his cherry-picked stats!!!!

Like someone said above and I’ve been saying for a while the offense is not creative at all. Yes we have great receivers when healthy yes Rojo is running the ball better now imagine if the plays were more creative. Wasn’t it Simms last week that said when we get in a tight package that’s when we take deep shots. Things like that shouldn’t be easy to determine. BL, BA and Harold the run game coordinator need to get more creative. They should be creating mismatches based on formations, motions, moving players into different positions. I’m tired of hearing BL say he wants things to happen organically. Heck I’ve even heard BA say we’ve gotta do a better job of moving Mike around. Don’t talk about it be about it.
October 12th, 2020 at 2:40 pm
Our play calling is horrendous! Very little creativity and as others mentioned, very predictable. I also didn’t understand why we run tight formations all the time and have multiple receivers within a few yards from each other. Our coaching staff is failing this team!!!

Last year we did the Carson Palmer watch, waiting for Jamis’s understanding of Arian’s offense to kick in. Just when we thought it would, it didn’t. Maybe we should be tracking Brady’s progress against Palmer’s first year progress in this offense. That might offer the silver lining we’re all hoping for.

RUN. THE. BALL. WHEN. IT. IS. WORKING
October 12th, 2020 at 3:08 pm
If this Brady, Arians, Licht marriage doesn’t work whats next?
October 12th, 2020 at 3:19 pm
It’s simple, it’s Wells at RT, playing with a torn meniscus, then playing with a broken throwing hand, then playing without Evans, then playing without Godwin, then playing without Miller. But yes let’s just ignore all of that cause you know everyone loves to blame Jameis.
October 12th, 2020 at 3:27 pm
The disappointment for me is that this game is exactly why we got Brady…..one minute left….no timeouts…….needing a game winning FG…..and, perhaps our kicker would have made this one……perhaps.
October 12th, 2020 at 4:36 pm
Totally agree. Our play calling can be described as pedestrian at best. It lacks energy and spark, creativity and variance, and complexity and tactics. This needs to change — or there’s no way we win even seven games.
October 12th, 2020 at 5:04 pm
Tom has been max protected by Big Bill for many many years and just can’t deal with pressure and has never ever done well when he’s had to. Never !!
Btw Winston may not have beat the Chargers but he prob beats the Bears !!
Just my opinion !!
Bet Winston wishes he had this o line and run game , just my opinion!!
October 12th, 2020 at 7:14 pm
calm the hell down folks, we were riding a three game win streak, up until the bears game, and if we had 2-3 less penalties we probably would have won that game, were as of this moment and it’s about one hour till kickoff on monday night, still ahead of the dirty taint’s, go chargers, let’s hope that the bucs are more focused for the greenbay game, maybe we get healed up and get godwin, and miller back, it’s a long season, if smith don’t get brady killed we gonna be right in the thick of things, go bucs
October 12th, 2020 at 7:32 pm
Issac you are an idiot. The patriots mainly played spread it offense in the shotgun the last 9 years before brady left. Yea he was really max protected 🤦♂️. Bruce needs to update his stale ass system if hes gonna force QBs to come in and run it. Byron needs more creativity and to go steal some plays from other teams playbooks cuz the current one sucks and is predictable.
October 12th, 2020 at 7:33 pm
5109- better moderate it
October 12th, 2020 at 9:17 pm
Problem was jameis never got better. You see the difference with Brady.
Brady noticeably goes through progressions. He’s not comfortable looking verticals to underneath. I think BA and leftwich need to listen to what he’s comfortable with.
October 12th, 2020 at 9:28 pm
Excuses chris!….team Glazer gave licht the green light to go fetch every position group on offense. He was uncomfortable with the roster.
October 12th, 2020 at 9:29 pm
The problem is Leftwich; he’s not even calling plays to Brady’s strengths; Leftwich doesn’t understand the weaknesses in a 3-4 ; need to give Tom morr control at the line of scrimmage
October 12th, 2020 at 9:47 pm
Brady is accurate but has no zip on his passes. He can’t escape the pass rush at all.
October 13th, 2020 at 9:29 am
I can’t believe he left the Patriots. He had to learn a whole new playbook. That was really stupid especially, so lats in his career

We’re going to scrap one of the top offenses in the league the last two seasons because you find that its “boring”? Great insight. I remember the fools around 2005 that wanted us to scrap the T2 for the same reason. You stick with what you know if it works. You don’t change for the sake of change. That’s idiotic.
