“Embarrassing”

October 10th, 2020

Shame on the Bucs.

Adam Schein was appalled.

In breaking down the Bucs’ loss to Nick Foles and the Chicago Bears, popular sports radio and television personality Adam Schein didn’t know where to start.

Talking on his CBS Sports Network show “Time to Schein,” Schein let loose on the Bucs and said the loss was an “embarrassing” display for everyone wearing a white uniform on Thursday night and on the Bucs sidelines, including park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady — who Schein compared to Chris Weber — and Bucco Bruce Arians.

“Ridiculously pedestrian,” Schein said of the effort. “Up 13-0 and Tom Brady and the Buccaneers blew it. And Tom Brady not knowing the down, if that were Jameis Winston people would be going nuts. So we need to go nuts.

“That looks awful for Brady on a night where he was screaming at his offensive linemen for not pass protecting. And then he didn’t say ‘Good game’ to Nick Foles.

“This was a terrible loss for the Buccaneers. Terrible loss!”

Schein confessed he was on the Bucs’ hype train this season until the smoke cleared from Soldier Field on Thursday night. And now he has to reassess.

Schein also scolded Arians for what Schein believed was going turtle late in the game and kicking a field goal instead of going for a touchdown. Defensive coordinator Todd Bowles did not escape Schein’s displeasure either.

You can see Schein’s take in the CBS Sports Network video below.

Simply put what all this proves is that none of these talkingg heads actually watch the Bucs over the past 5 years. Jameis was dealing with the exact same thing in reality worse over the last 5 years yet all they did was blame him because of lying, backstabbing, POS coach told them it was him. Now when they see for themselves that we have a penalty fest, our defense blows its when it matters, and our offensive line sucks half the time they go wow this team is not very good yet again they’re better now than they ever were with Jameis interesting huh.

  2. Casual Observer Says:

Seemed like that was the worst the Bucs have played (and coached) in a quite a while. But those were some of the worst referee calls I have seen in a long time. And they greatly influenced the game’s outcome. It was both aspects.

  3. 2020 Year of the GOAT Says:

if jameis winsnot was qb he would of had 4 interceptions and 2 would have been pick 6 s ……. ndog

    1st possession of 2nd 1/2 , Bucs scored fg.
2nd possession of 2nd 1/2, Bucs drive to Bears 35- then the brain farts started-
Rojo 5 yd run- holding on Wirfs
Brady 16 yd pass to Gronk- Offensive PI on Evans
Brady sacked by Mack, roughing passer call negated by holding on Smith
Brady 11 yd pass to Mickens- unnecessary roughness on Jenkins
Throw in another holding call on Cappa – didn’t make any difference at this pt
3rd possession of 2nd half- Bucs drive to 16 yard line and Brady gets sacked-
    forced to settle for fg.
After that , Bears took away TE’s and running game, some shaky play calling and Brady had a brain fart at end

Bucs beat themselves with poor play and stupid penalties.

@Joe… Do u ever get tired of reading the same thing over and over from Ndog or do you just skip right by him like I do. Enjoy the L Ndog you POS💩

  7. BucEmUp Says:

Half of our penalties were complete bullsh#t. The one on shaq was a dirty flag. The llaycalling was atrocious in the second half. The inability to sustain a drive and score any points with our offense against a beatable team is embarrasing and leftwhich will sunk this ship.

This team will NEVER win ANY championship and will be lucky to make the playoffs with Leftwich calling plays. He was an average joe qb, he has never been successful as a playcaller or coach on any level. Why dont people see the problem? Its just like Mike Smith but the other side pf the ball..

dude is ruining a good thing

  8. TheBucsAnthem Says:

The Sky is still falling? LOL

I had this team pegged at 9-7 or 10-6 before the season even began………………….and it looks like they’re on their way.

We’ve seen Bucco Brucie and his staff produce crap like this now. This team’s coaching staff is obviously an issue because of how undisciplined these players are.

It’s ok to play with fire and gusto……but when a HOF doesn’t even know what down it is in a critical situation is pretty bad.

Also, all these penalties is ridiculous as well…..cause good teams just don’t keep on shooting themselves in the foot like the Bucs continuously keep on doing.

Tom Brady is learning very quickly what “It’s a Bucs Life” really means in Tampa Bay.

  10. AwshBucs Says:

Their were several embarrassing things about thursday nights game.

Most principally of which was the officiating. 2nd most would be the performance of Donovan Smith.

But the offensive game plan also consisted of far too many long developing plays downfield, little to no adjustments were made during the game, and Brady got beat up all night because of that. Throw in run calls being far too predictable on a night where Rojo was running his tail off and could have been the difference in the game.

The defensive game plan was fairly bad as well. Far to many soft zones with off coverage. Against which Foles completed 14 passes for 100+ yards and converted on several key first downs.

The coaching staff needs to do some major self scouting or else this wont be the only embarrassing loss of the season.

  11. ModHairKen Says:

This team is a mix of young players, veterans, average players, extraordinary players, new players and guys that have been here a while.

All of these early games are going to pay dividends later. Even the frustrating loss at Chicago. Everyone will come back more determined for GB. The 60 minute complete game is on the horizon.

    Patience, folks.

  12. Blogtalkfootball.com Says:

A good defense makes any offense look pedestrian! The Bears defense is starting to peak, and Chuck Pagano knows Arians playbook inside out. Don’t you think the Bears were prepared for anything Arians would throw at them?

With more prep time, we could have schemes a better effort. But it is what it is. On to Green Bay!

  13. TOM Says:

Sometimes I don’t think the fans know what they want. They had a discipline coach in Schiano & they made fun of him along with the sorry media. Now they say they’re not disciplined enough. I think right now Arian’s & Leftwitch on on the verge of losing this team. I must say none of the coaches were worth a dam Thurs. night. Of course BA was hand picked by whoelse but loser Licht. And Leftwitch was hand picked by BA. Leftwitch may be the worse OC in the NFL. And he certainly isn’t HC material. Glazers BEWARE!

  14. BFFL Says:

Terrible defense, bad refs, key injuries on short week on the road is why bucs lost.

  15. El Buco Realisto Is a Dicko and NDogTurd is a Crybaby and TheBucsAnus and LovesJameisTighties are Trolls Says:

Another round of “I told you so” from the trolls. We even had a ElBucoDicko sighting.
That’s ok, us real fans will continue to support our team while the trolls revel in their “wins”. That’s what you trolls are calling it, right? The Bucs lose but you “win”. F’ing morons.

  16. jb Says:

Wanna see the Bucs s**t the bed? Put ‘em on national TV!

  17. Thisisouryear!! Says:

Yes, they have some things to fix. They have a lot of injuries as well, but this team is definitely different than recent years. If Jamies were QB with this team I think we’d be 1-4. He’d still throw first ball interceptions and throw everything up for grabs. I believe we are going to get back on track. 11-5 and a strong January team. I believe in Bruce, Todd and Tom. Go Bucs!!!

  18. Bird Says:

This article gave ndog a chub

His tears have gone away for a week
He is happy again. He is high five ing his jameis winston fat head at home
After giving it several low fives if you know what i mean.
He is sleeping at night too
Able to eat an entire meal

So happy the bucs lost He is almost giddy.

I mean what losers. Rooting for bucs to lose. And then trying to normalize like the non winston nut smashers were rooting for Jameis and bucs to lose. What a joke of a human being

Oh and the hypocrite just praised the defense and praised the oline judt recently. And that was reason bucs now winning under brady

I encourage him to keep going. I love It personally
I think his creepiness is hilarious. I mean if jameis gave him the coolaid with hemlock and told him to drink It so they would die and go up on the alien ghost ship and They would live happily ever after….He would

  19. Wesley Says:

Arians just isn’t the right guy, neither is Leftwich.

  20. Bird Says:

The only real tragedy here is the jameis winston blow up doll nsob has at home
Can you imagine how abused and beat up that thing is.

Meanwhile for most real fans. That loss was tough
You cannot be up that score and fall apart …they took 2 steps back.

They only way to get it back is beat one of the teams they should lose too
They need to beat packers or chiefs or saints
Again it isnt easy to beat bears In chicago
In all honesty …we have not really been competitive against that team sincetheir defense showed up a few years ago.

  21. Sport Says:

How soon the trolls forget what embarrassing really means. Sure, we should have put these guys away. Unfortunately, we haven’t put together a complete game yet. This is what happens.

Wanna see embarrassing go back and watch the last time we played the Bears. 38-3 at halftime.

Who was the QB you Trollbags? And how did your messiah play?

    16-20, 145 YDS, 1 TD, 2 INT

    Fabulous, just fabulous.

    Trollbags unite over a 3rd stringer….

    In BA I Trust!

  22. Cobraboy Says:

Well, it was not pretty, that’s for sure.

I’m not sure what folks expected. I tried to tap down lofty expectations. I will admit this team failed my rather modest expectations.

I stated penalties, turnovers and kicking would be the difference, and they were.

Winning in the NFL is hard.

Winning in the NFL on the road is really hard.

Winning in the NFL on the road on a super short week is really, really hard.

Winning in the NFL on the road on a super short week with many injuries in key positions, and with the walking wounded playing is really, really, really hard.

Winning in the NFL on the road on a super short week with many injuries in key positions, with the walking wounded playing, and with a QB in his 5th game in a new team and offense is really, really, really, really hard.

Please, back off the Skyway ledge.

The key to this season will be how this team responds against Green Bay.

I figured 9-7/11-5 coming into the season. I still see those possibilities…pending injuries.

I also give Da Bears credit for playing some fine defense. I knew they were an outstanding unit before the game and the Bucs would have to play mistake-free offense to come away with a win. They didn’t, so they didn’t. Fact is the D held Da Bears to 20. That is still winning defensive football in the NFL.

  23. Buc N A Says:

I believe everything Schein said is accurate. Not sure if it is something in the water or air or whatever it is but when the greatest Qi to ever play the game comes to Tampa and all of a sudden looks like a rookie something is up. And let’s not even start with Mr. no risk it no biscuit.

  24. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

The Bucs stubbornly clung to long developing down the field plays, even though we were unable to defend Brady from their pass rush.
ROJO was killing them slowly, but we stopped giving him the ball.
Schein is right, we laid an egg, on national TV.
The Bears are nothing special, and just got beat by the lowly Colts!
We were SUPPOSED to win that game because it is highly doubtful we will beat Green Bay, especially if we play like we did against the Bears.

  25. rrsrq Says:

There will be times when TB12 immobility will hurt this team, Brady is good at getting rid of the ball, but with so many injuries, i.e., not completely trusting the receivers because of drops and not being a threat to rum for five yards to keep the chains moving, the defense just have to play zone coverage. Nobody but maybe Scooter is running by anyone

  26. Chris Says:

Yeah the different between Brady and Winston is Winston would be at 8-9 INTs through 5 games and be 1-4 instead of 3-2.

No one can win with this amount of penalties and Bruce needs To evaluate this roster and discipline. You cannot win games with this amount of penalties.

  27. Cobraboy Says:

@Chris: The Colts are NOT “lowly.” They may have the #1 defense in the NFL.

A great D keeps a tem in the game.

The Biuucs lost because of penalties and some horrendous calls by the zebras.

  28. JayWill Says:

Sports you’re disingenuous Fitz started that game. It was 38-3 before Winston came in to get reps after sitting 4 games. The last he started against the Bears he blew them out

  29. Ed Says:

Excuses, Excuses, the other team played on a short week as well. The player was glad to hear Brady was coming to town, now they are beginning to hate the guy. You do not yell at your lineman, like they work for you, what a jerk. No wonder the player’s in New England was glad when he left.

  30. webster Says:

I like how some of rag on ndog for stating his opinion and calling him not a fan and that he is wishing for the team to lose etc. You same clowns came to this board for 5 years doing the same exact thing when winston was the qb. Were you not “real fans” then because you surely hoped the bucs would lose. Suck it up. Many of you made this site unenjoyable how blantant you were. Dont ask for bi-partisanship and fan togetherness now after you did the exact same thing for FIVE years and continue to do so when winston isnt even here yet you bring him up on every article. Shame

  31. TampaTown Says:

To quote Dirk Koetter: I thought we were past this.

  32. Defense Rules Says:

“Schein also scolded Arians for what Schein believed was going turtle late in the game and kicking a field goal instead of going for a touchdown.”

Agree with Schein 100% on that one. What happened to BA’s ‘No Risk-it No Biscuit’ philosophy? ONE lousy yard to go from the Chicago 7 yd line for a 1st down with 10 mins still to go and we ‘played it safe’. Actually, turned out to be not-so-safe after all.

Bears’ rush defense isn’t on the same par as ours (they gave up over 5 YPC Thursday, and over 4.3 YPC on the season. ONE lousy yard was all we needed. Score the TD, go for 2 after that … then hang on.

  33. Buc1987 Says:

    DR…it was frustrating to watch.

  34. El Buco Realisto Says:

    @buc1987

Not when one knows it was going to happen!!!!!!!!!! The “real” fans tried to warn the sheep!!!!!!!!!! Ole stale biscuit will be exposed for those that did not pay attention!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  35. Mike Johnson Says:

My fellow Bucs fans witnessed what a top 5 Defense can do to you on a good night. Them Bears were rated at 4 in D for a reason. We are so enthralled by the..brafy effect. You forget, a great defense can give the..statue of Liberty pure hell. You saw that on Thursday. And yes, them packers will be bringing it.

  36. Buccfan37 Says:

I thought going into each weeks Buc game the expectations to come out with a win was growing. Yeah at a snails pace seeing the reality.

  37. Oneilbucs Says:

Ed , Webster , and Jaywill I’m another one that they said I wasn’t a fan as well . But I knew this was going to happen that Brady will not get blame for nothing . Brady has a running game that Jamies didn’t have . And every time I brought up the running game they called it a excuse for Jamies . When I brought up the plays that is called that was a excuse for Jamies . And now that Brady is on the team and when he throws the interceptions that Jamies threw it was the receiver fault . I hope we win but I’m going to tell yall one thing that if we play a team with a pass rush we are going to lose . I still think Jamies would have beaten the saints and the Bears especially with us running the ball 20 times a game with a 100 yard rusher . Because Jamies only had 2 100 yard rusher in 4 years . No excuses superbowl or bust !!! Go bucs …

  38. unbelievable Says:

    He is spot on.

Embarrassing without a doubt. A real kick in the nuts.

  39. Mike C Says:

So let me get this straight, This team that is beat up, on a short week, on the road, vs a above 500 team(that has a top 5 D), That gets WORKED OVER by the zebras, has dumb decisions made by the head coach, coordinators, and QB, still managed to be in that game…. yeah they must be the 08 lions. Bucs are going to heal up, and be just fine.

  40. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

    @Cobraboy
You are correct about the Colts, They are now 3-1 and have won 3 in a row.
I stand corrected my friend, and you are correct, penalties and mistakes cost us that game.

  41. Ivan The Insider Says:

ENOUGH OF THE “JAMEIS DIDN’T HAVING A RUNNING GAME” NONSENSE!

How come you Jameis-homers never like to talk about Jameis first season when Doug Martin has the 2nd leading rusher in the NFL and had almost 2,000 yards from scrimmage.

Yet… Winston managed a measily SIX total wins and still had costly turnovers. The lack of wins certainly wasn’t solely on him, but that’s a poor excuse for him to use now just because RoJo has had a couple of decent games. But oh that’s right… like move on to another excuse instead… it was because Jameis was a rookie that year. Oh yeah, that’s it. Give me a break. Winston proved he was the SAME QB even with great running game.

It’s funny how the Jameis-homers don’t think Jameis Winston’s play can be REVIEWED IN A VACUUM.

What I mean by that is, somehow Jameis Winston’s play can’t be independently evaluated. Which is 100% NONSENSE.

One doesn’t have to even look at wins, losses, the play of the Defense, etc.

It IS possible to simply evaluate Jameis Winston’s 5 years of play by itself.

VERDICT: He sucks and is a liability. Super inconsistent. Turnover prone. Accuracy and touch inconsistency. Often held the ball too long. Struggled with quick reads of Defenses. Rarely audibled to take advantage of mismatches. Often gave the Defense short fields to defend and very little time to rest.

People like Ndog make comments like “some of these guys didn’t watch the Bucs for 5 years while Winston was here…” Yeah, sure, some of those TV talking heads probably didn’t. But you know who DID?

NFL Executives, GMs, and Scouts. They reviewed much of Winston’s tape for his pending Free Agency. AND GUESS WHAT?

VERDICT: He sucks and is a liability.

The market proved it… ONE SUITOR for a measily $1.1M.

You guys are such a JOKE making comments as if Winston’s play by itself can’t be independently evaluated like any other player. It CAN and it WAS. That’s why he was sent packing and no one really wanted him.

  42. Mirrormirroronthewall Says:

Ivan The Insider Says: You are saying that the team now is not considerably better than the team Winston was on? I do enjoy watching the Bucs lose. Tough game against Green Bay. Go Cheese Heads!!! The irony is that Buc fans believe the Bucs will lose.

  43. Dapostman Says:

    @Ivan,

Ryan Tannehill, Teddy Bridgewater, Jim Plunkett and a host of other QB’s have been backups that found a 1st string job. NFL execs are wrong all the time. That’s why Brady was a 6th round pick.

  44. webster Says:

Come on ivan. Winston went to a 2 and whatever team when he was drafted. At one point the team was 6-6. Do you not remember kwon getting popped for PEDs and missed the last 4 games? Do you remember how a suspect defense took an even further collapse without kwon? The win total is not sorely on the qb. One of my best friends is from boston. He is a huge pats fan. He has lived in florida for about 15 years and has only watched the bucs sparingly. Now that brady is here, he watches them all the time. He has said to me numerous times in five games, we are a DUMB and undiscipline football team. He said the Pats never played like we do around Brady. He was suprised at some of our decision making. He told me he finally understood what i was saying for years. This team has more problems than the qb. While he is pulling for brady and the bucs, he said he is not so sure because as he said, he has seen it before and how we are playing aint it. Its been that way for years. He like many others nationally just didnt realize it. Blame jameis.

  45. Ivan The Insider Says:

Dapostman – that’s true but Winston is NOT a backup QB. He’s the 3rd string QB on the Saints. Could Winston turn out to be a great QB? Sure, anything is possible. But he wasn’t worth the RISK to keep him in Tampa and give him $15m+/year that it would have cost. Then the fact that the entire league passed on him until the Saints signed him at the end of free agency for almost a Vet minimum just goes to show what the league thinks about his abilities. This isn’t some conspiracy theory of Gators fans hating on Winston. It’s what THE NFL thinks of Winston and his value/risk.

Webster – Again, I didn’t say the win/loss record was all on Winston. Go back and read what I wrote. What I did say was that Winston’s play by itself CAN be independently evaluated and he wasn’t that good for 5 long years. He had stretches of brilliant play but also had turnover issues (obviously) as well as accuracy problems at times and also decision-making problems.

  46. REDZONE BA Says:

Nice post Webster! Been watching college ball tonight. My response is less about JW and more about Brady. I have not had a “second watch” of the game, but it seemed like every time Brady felt pressure, he immediately fell to the ground in self-preservation mode, which BTW, is fine as his health is critical to the Bucs season; however, as someone on the board pointed out, somewhere down the line, Brady’s immobility & lack of willingness to stand in pocket is going to be a liability.

When Brady does throw under pressure, I give him credit for a passes that only his WR can catch. The problem so far, those throws are not catchable by anyone and seem horribly off-target. The JW haters will correctly say – at least no INTs, giving our D has a decent field to defend.

Our future opponents have a road map to mess with Brady’s head and stop Buc’s Offense.

  47. Buc1987 Says:

    Realist,
    Get help somewhere.

  48. Sport Says:

JayWill – I looked at the stat line and forgot he was benched for poor play in that game. Then came on off the bench against a prevent defense and put up those stats.

I think you also probably missed that JW is a 3rd stringer making the league minimum and Fitz is a starting QB racking up stats. He’s not winning, but he’s racking up numbers, which seems to be the only criteria JW Trollbags care about. So is he one of your favorite QB’s too?

    In BA I Trust!
