Report: McCoy Expected Out For Thursday
October 6th, 2020In the first half Sunday against the Chargers, LeSean “Shady” McCoy appeared to see an incoming blitzer in an offensive line gap and then turn to the right to help block someone else.
And Tom Brady paid the price.
Thankfully, Brady was unscathed by the crushing blow to his gut. But it turns out McCoy was the guy who couldn’t finish the game.
Per NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, McCoy suffered a grade 2 ankle sprain and is highly likely to miss Thursday night’s game in Chicago, and potentially more time.
Joe likes the dimension McCoy brings to the offense, sans the pass blocking gaffe, but this really doesn’t concern Joe for one game.
If Leonard Fournette remains out with his ankle injury, Bucs fans will get a much longer look at rookie Ke’Shawn Vaughn complementing Ronald Jones, and Joe has a feeling that would go pretty well.

And the Bears are fully healthy.

At least our Defense is healthy……we’ll see again, how our depth at RB, WR & TE perform.

Two weeks ago it was a dropped TD pass….this week he gets Brady blown up. For a very part time player brought in for passing plays, I was expecting a bit more polish from him. Frankly i think Vaughn could step into McCoy’s role and we wouldn’t notice much difference….other then Vaughn seems a tad quicker.

Not a big loss
Shady has lost a step and does not know how to catch a ball
Give vaughn some reps
Love how he lowered his head for td last week
And then jumped into bradys arms
Instant bucs classic

I believe McCoy is utterly useless and that the team would be better served with Vaughn or Barner out there in his place when Fournette and Jones aren’t on the field. Shady was a good veteran presence for the first few weeks he was here, but that was before the arrival of Fournette, who really, really brought an attitude adjustment to the RB room and instilled more confidence in the OL. Shady’s pass blocking, rushing, and YAC are all abysmal. IMO he should be relegated to the same roll he had last year in KC – inactive emergency last-string RB5. In essence, that has already happened with this injury. I’m stoked to see Vaughn out there more!

Garbage signing.
October 6th, 2020 at 8:44 am
I guess that means the Bears will be bringing one helluv a pass rush good luck Tom.

Way much better if Fournette is ready…….
He is and will be a factor on this team…….
I like what Rojo did on sunday, but sadly he can’t catch a ball, and that’s frustrating……

I have not been impressed by McCoy this year. He had a couple of nice catches in the Carolina game, but then drops a perfect pass in the end zone.
He has not looked that good at blocking and has not done much on the ground either.
It was a small sample size, but I liked what I saw out of Vaughn except the drop on 3rd down that caused the Bucs to kick a field goal.

Chargers offense and rookie QB made Bucs secondary look ridiculous. It will be fun to see how they respond against da Bears at Soldiers Field. Go Bucs!

mccoy is washed….
develop the rookie….
GO BUCS!!!!!

So many injuries this year.

Which dimension is it that you like that McCoy brings to the offense? Is it his lack of power or lack of speed? Maybe it was his endzone drop earlier this season or maybe the missed blocks… maybe it is his carrying the ball like a loaf of bread. I wasn’t keen on bringing him in but was okay with the idea of him being the 3rd down back… but when he can’t catch, run, or block… I’m not enamored with it. Rumor has it that he was very helpful of the position group in TC… that might be true but at this point i’d rather have Raymond Calais back in the fold over him.

It looks like we should have kept Calais and cut Shady. He has not shown any reason to be out there. Slow, drops, poor pass protection. Time to let the rookie play.
October 6th, 2020 at 11:15 am
hate to say it, but maybe get rid of him and pick up a back off the street…
hello charles sims……lol
October 6th, 2020 at 11:16 am
kidding on sims tho…
but there are heads out there for sure
October 6th, 2020 at 11:57 am
He looks slow and can’t pass protect. Get Vaughn more touches.

McCoy is a fine guy to roll out if better players are injured, but he should probably be getting the 4th most playing time of all RBs when the team is fully healthy.
Jones
Fournette
Vaughn
McCoy
I haven’t seen Shady do anything that Vaughn didn’t appear capable of doing in his brief cameo. He’s making rookie type drops and blown pass coverages, so what’s the downside of giving the rookie those snaps?

Losing LeSean McCoy is like losing Jay Miss. Addition by subtraction. As long as Fournette can play, no loss at all.
