“It’s Not The Same Ol’ Buccaneers”
October 5th, 2020If this didn’t cross your mind, Joe maintains you have no use for history and may not have a memory bank.
In the first half, the Bucs looked every bit like the team we have grown to groan about over the past 11 years. Overrated. Sloppy. Matador defense. Playing down to your opponent. Letting rookie quarterbacks eat their lunch. Struggling to win home games.
When the Bucs were down 24-7, Joe was thinking, “What a freaking tease this 2-1 record is.”
And then magic happened. It began with Ndamukong Suh’s blast of Chargers running back Joshua Kelley behind the line to jar loose a bobbled handoff and set the Bucs up for a rally, the second-biggest comeback in Bucs history.
(Former NFL general manager Michael Lombardi said it best. “This game had Anthony Lynn’s fingerprints all over it. Who calls for a read-option deep in your own end with 40 seconds left in the half up 17?”)
Peter Schrager, the co-host of “Good Morning Football” and closet Bucs fan, said the first half played out like so, so many Bucs games of the recent past.
But wait! Schrager said. This is not your old Bucs. He explains in the NFL Network video below.
(Be prepared for a lot of Bucs coverage on “Good Morning Football” this week. Thursday’s Bucs game with the Bears will be simulcast from FOX on NFL Network, which will be pimping the game.)
“Down 24-7 to a rookie QB in their own building, it sure felt like ‘Same old Buccaneers…’ But then, @NdamukongSuh made a play. And it was the turning point of the game; maybe the season.” — @PSchrags on how a single forced fumble changed the narrative of the 2020 @Buccaneers. pic.twitter.com/0NOVGsPPSt

Has anyone seen Realisto and his puppy? Hibernating already?
We saw it last year and is beginning early this season. SMH

What I saw yesterday during the game, tons of pessimistics, negative comments like…OJ is done, Evans is a crying baby, Brady is old, Rojo su*s, BL can’t make a call, BA si over……I read all kind of negative hype……
Now, please shut up, and learn!!!

“Starting to turn it on,” would be more accurate.
Realistically, the Chicago game would be the first game of the season. Let’s see what they do on Thursday.

Suh didn’t cause the fumble. That was a bad handoff. Suh did prevent a recovery, and very likely saved the game.

The real #93…..and ageless…LETS GO!
October 5th, 2020 at 12:59 pm
Um, the RB still had the ball in his arms. If Sue is not there to knock the loose ball out there would not of been a ball to recover.
I mean its right there, just open your eyes and see for yourself.
Next thing your going to tell us is that Biden is smarter then Trump and would make for a better president. LMFAO.

The team believes it can win with Brady. In the past, the perception seemed to be built around the team could win IF Winston didn’t give the game away…..which he did…a lot. Now we just need some of the vets on defense to wake the secondary up, those guys have a tad of Vernon Hargreaves syndrome going on, living off their “potential” vs their production on the field. To get smoked 2x by no-name receivers and a rookie QB, that’s pretty unacceptable.

The Bucs safeties learned some valuable lessons in this game. Hopefully they will be eager to improve on that effort going forward.

How do people watch these zoom meeting TV shows as entertainment? Get back in studio and get to work you lazy bums.
October 5th, 2020 at 2:40 pm
Did he say that the Bucs are back? Should I change my name to BradyBringsBucsBack?
It’s too early for my liking. More wins, please!

I get the complaining when we were losing. I mean we’ve bin losing for 11 straight years now lol but I don’t get it when we are winning. I don’t care if we win by 1 or 21 a win is a win ugly or bad. Keep stacking those Ws Bucs. I’m the biggest fan of ME13 but he does need to stop crying and control his temper a little bit better he’s come a long way form hitting latimore from the saints but he’s not there yet.

Asking for a friend.

All the ppl complaining about this win or the teams they’ve beaten, have absolutely no clue how difficult it is to win in the NFL. “Any given Sunday”
There are no easy wins in the NFL. 3-1… Sheeeit, you should be ecstatic.
Go Bucs!

If Michael Lombardi is so darn smart how did he confuse a draw play with a read option? That was not a read option, sorry Lombardi. BTW, having Anthony Lynn’s fingerprints all over a game that saw the Chargers take a 24-7 lead over a much more talented and experienced team. The entire 1st half saw the Chargers completely outscheme us. We were outcoached badly. In the second half, the Bucs made their adjustments and did what they were supposed to do…
But again, that was NOT a read option play, Lombardi couldn’t have been more wrong. The purpose of the play was to show pass and then run a low risk run that if it broke would put the Chargers in position to start working towards trying for a FG… and if it didn’t work, it would burn time off the clock. It was the right play… it was a very predictable play, but the correct one. but it definitely wasn’t a read option.

Someone needs to sit Michael Lombardi down and find out what his definition of a read option is. If you can comment on something, then you can surely explain when you’re exposed about how you’re wrong and a lazy or stupid journalist.
