Brady Wants The Creamsicles

Quarterback wants throwback.
Last week, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady had a simple request.
A lot of fans were going wild over the pewter-on-pewter new uniforms the Bucs wore in Denver. Apparently, Brady wants more.
Remember when Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, kept asking Team Glazer for an indoor practice facility? Well, Team Glazer heard his pleas and — voila! — the Glazer Shed was built.
So perhaps Team Glazer will have a similar open ear to the future Hall of Famer, Brady. Taking to Instagram, Brady posted that he wants the Bucs to break out the creamsicles.
Joe’s reaction was a loud “YES!” Once a year. It cannot be that hard, right?
As for the pewter-on-pewter, Joe was unmoved. They were OK, nothing more. Certainly an upgrade over the Jameis unis the team wore during much of the Lost Decade.
Ever since high school, Joe has never been a fan of the same color pants as jerseys. Joe always (and still does) associates teams wearing one-color uniforms as cheap programs that couldn’t scratch together a few extra shekels to buy a second pair of pants.

the pewter jersey with white pants would be a good look as well…
they really should mix and match all unis and pants as well…
the white on white is the worst of the bunch tho…
they’re on that fantasy island type ish with rourke and tattoo…

Hell yes! Only once a year though for old times sake. I can’t help but associate the creamsicles with a whole lot of losing and Buc luminaries such as Richard Williamson, Charles McRae (you know that you’ve had some putrid tackles when Donovan probably ranks number 2 all time), Alvin Harper, etc..

Creamsickles are the best, Still have my Wilder Jersey from the early 80’s somewhere about…doesn’t fit anymore… still looks good! Still have my big old Bucco Bruce hat I wore at both 1979 playoff games…good memories!

That was my first reaction too Joe, when I saw the title– Yes!!!
How can you not love this guy?! He just keeps getting better. I have to admit, I was critical of him in the beginning for not doing interviews with team media, yet many elsewhere. Apologies, Tom.
Love the Doug Williams photo as well. What memories. Many people may hate them, but that uniform IS Florida.

Gotta side with Joe on the pewter on pewter digs…meh. I mean worlds better than those goofy unis from last year, sure.
Creamsicles always have a place in my heart. The only two jerseys I’ve ever purchased were #63 and #55. Of course, I can’t wear them anymore because I bought them in the late ’90s. Lets just say Fanman has expanded a little since then!

Isn’t there some sort of 1 helmet rule that’s been hold-up for the last couple years? I don’t think the Creamsicle works with pewter helmets.

I never liked the creamcicle uniforms. But I don’t like any uniforms that include a white helmet. It is ok for one throwback game per season but they are barely better than the lost decade ugly uniforms. Of course this is only my opinion.

Methuselah likes the creamsicle unis??? Is that for real, Joes? I LOVE the old unis cos they look like Florida. I’m glad the Glazer Boys FINALLY got rid of those horrorshows that looked like red pjs. Plus, the font SUCKED!!!!!

I think the pewter on pewter look better at night under the lights, I agree in sunny conditions like at Denver, they kind of looked brown a bit.

Totes agree about the all-pewter unis looking like the Browns. But, hey, if the players like it (as many have said; Gronk kissed one too), by all means keep wearing ’em. Just win, baby win.

Love the pewter uniforms! Best looking Bucs unis ever!
I ordered a pewter TB12 jersey from NFL Shop.com back in April, and it still has not arrived yet! I keep getting emails from them saying the shipment is delayed. Now they say it should ship no later than 10/15! GEE THAT WOULD BE NICE….CONSIDERING THE SEASON WILL BE MORE THAN A QUARTER OVER WITH BY THEN!
As for the creamsicles, sure why not! Would also look cool.

Jason, you nailed it. This has been the “stated” excuse from the Bucs and NFL since the uni redesign a few years ago.
Something about the fitted helmets must remain the same through the whole year, but I don’t understand why they can’t just paint an identical set of helmets. Surely the league has the scratch to afford a 2nd set?!

I’m really glad we changed our uni’s, but I do have to say that I wish that the pewter had a more metallic sheen to them, to match the helmets, like our Super Bowl uni’s… Anyway, just glad we’re playing and improving, it’s fun again… Go Bucs!

Yea Joe I agree, for me the one color uniforms just are not as good as different color jersey and pants. It would be cool to see the creamsickles twice a year. It was good to see Doug “I am going to didney world” in the orange. Yes didney world lol. Thats what Doug said after the demolition of the Broncos in the Super Bowl that Doug threw 5 TD’s in the 2nd Quarter. It would like to see them have more combinations of uniforms, maybe even red pants also. The sharks are circling Herbert today, hopefully another 5 sacks and 10 or less points. And Brady another clean game with at least 3 TD’s and a semblence of a running game. GO BUCS!!!

I associate the creamsicles with Doug Williams, Lee Roy Selmon, Jimmie Giles, Ricky Bell, Mark Cotney, Batman Wood, Kevin House, James Wilder, Hugh Green… you get the idea… From 0-26 to playoffs in 3 out of 4 seasons – 2 division titles and a playoff season coming back from an 0-3 start to win their final 3 games coming from behind.
