Brady Sets NFL Record

September 28th, 2020

New geezer mark established.

Move over George Blanda, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady just snapped one of your records.

Blanda is best remembered not so much for his Hall of Fame career but for how he finished it. Well into his 40s, he was a kicker for the Oakland Raiders in the early seasons of their golden years, and he also served as their backup quarterback.

Blanda was the last NFL quarterback at age 43 to have thrown three touchdown passes in a game. Yesterday, Brady beat him, documents Hall of Fame personnel man Gil Brandt.

Joe made a big deal before the season about quarterbacks who played in the NFL at age 43. It’s not very pretty.

It sure seems Brady will shatter the stereotype of a middle-aged man playing quarterback in the NFL.

When Blanda was 43, the years of getting beat up by defenses, along with hundreds of long nights with whiskey and cigarettes were evident.

To give readers an idea of how old Blanda was, he played college ball for Bear Bryant — at Kentucky!

I really wish, just once, I could read an article, without having to skip five lines of stupid pointless text, mainly giving players nicknames based on nonsense. I really wish I would stop my finger from tapping this button, but eventually I’ll get bored enough 2/3 times a week.

    More such days to come.

NDog wanted to know the difference when we were at 1 and 1

Winston: Completed 59 of 98 for 782 yards, with five touchdowns, four interceptions and a 1-2 record.

Brady: Completed 71 of 109 for 753 yards, with six touchdowns, three interceptions and a 2-1 record.

And we are headed to 3 and 1 While your love has yet to throw a pass!

    Buh Bye Felicia~!

    ⬆️

Now do the defense for the first 3 games.

Grillcook for real…. this is prob why he’s writing independently

  6. mark2001 Says:

Dog… but as was said elsewhere, Suh and possibly others would have retired and without Arians coaching, we would have likely cast off other younger or older players. So that argument is rather irrelevant.

But secondly, you seem to fail to see that this team is just starting to gel. We have new key pieces that didn’t even have the benefit of a training camp, and I expect things will just keep getting better with this offense. Jameis was where he was with this team. I believe Arians basically gave up on him because he felt there was little growth or upside left. I suggest we look at this team at the end of the year. And compare the stats.

  7. Bird Says:

    Nsob

Its The exact same defense from last year you dummie You make it sound like we got all these new guys on defense for brady.

So The only new player is winfield who is a rookie. A rookie you dum dum. Yes this rookie is a bad arse but please.
But that counters jpp came in late off IR so there is a trade off. Jpp not in those games you want compared.

So what difference is defense again?

Sure young guys are more comfortable
Maybe its confidence. Its swag. Its confidence in your leader

    You are a joke.

    relax folks….lol…

    ndog is good jue jue…lol…

the more he talks about JW and last year, the more we win this year and the saints lose….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  9. D-Rome Says:

Unlike ndog I do not miss those Bucs first possession. first drive INTs and pick 6’s.

  10. Bird Says:

Nsob called are defense garbage last year when jameis lost
    😂

Nsob will admit …know they played well at the end
Well guess what happened at the end

    Defense played good
Jameis did not and that is why arians lost trust.
Arians even said the same. Defense good and yet jameis wasnt good

Here comes the other excuse. Oh the had injured guys.
They lost in games they still should have won

  11. Jeffbuc Says:

Ndog just sees one way. Us real fans know if jameis was our quarterback yesterday. That’s the exact game he would lose by throwing bone headed picks to a depleted defense. They get a lead start getting confidence. Then jameis is forced to throw to try and win and would throw another. And then we would all be pissed like the last 5 years. Saying we should be 2-1 if jameis doesn’t throw those 3 picks. And that is the way it has played out the last 5 years.

  12. Roy T. Buford Says:

Most notable is “quality yards.” No, I’m not talking about some idiotic, pedantic statistic where people argue over decimals for hours. A little common sense is all I mean.

Tom Brady had by far his best game yesterday, but still less than the loser that ran the offense at QB for the last five years. Yes, Brady had just under 300 yards, and “just” three TD passes yesterday, but he took care of the football, made his throws mean something (not wild throws of 50 yards only to throw an INT the next play). One INT average per game is high for Brady, but it’s half of what Uber man did.

I don’t think Winston ever played well enough to allow a 2-1 start. The next two games will be key for growing/improvement, especially a Thurs night game that the Bucs historically stink at.

  13. Bama Says:

I agree Grill cook… The “park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring….” is not funny or creative at all and they keep trying to force that down our throats. so annoying…It literally reduces the amount of times that I will click on certain articles..

  14. Anonymous Says:

GrillCook, it’s like padding your 500 word essay in middle school. But, it sure beats Peter Kings 5 paragraph moniker.

  15. Bucsfanman Says:

D-Rome- I agree. It’s funny how memory only serves what, and when we want. Even the broadcasters would joke about “getting that TO over with” last year!

Congrats Tom! Keep proving them wrong!

  16. Chris Boyd Says:

to be fair.. ndog is right about the defense the first half of the year last year. we were terrible, a wide open door in the secondary. but the thing is ndog, is that winston was inconsistent. he was phenomenal at times, and absolutely terirble at times. and i think it took a toll mentally on the rest of the locker room.. the defense lost faith in him, which affects their play. it shouldn’t because theyre professionals, but it does. so even if all the stats were exactly the same, once a team loses faith in their leader, its gonna drastically hurt the way they produce on the field. you can tell that the atmosphere changed just by the body language in the interviews with guys on both sides of the ball once brady was bought in. they BELIEVED again, and thats much more valuable than the extra zip jameis had on the ball. winston threw picks in college too, but they were so stacked he could overcome them. he threw picks here for 5 years. its just who he is. if someone can coach those picks out of him, he’ll be a great great qb, but losing the locker room with the talent we have here (even before the brady gronk fournette shady infusion we had a lot of talent on both sides of the ball) just wasnt worth taking the time anymore.

  17. SlyPirate541 Says:

Tom has been looking up at George Blanda his whole career. Hoping one day he would the opportunity to succeed this all time great.

Wow, you can finally say George Blanda and Tom Brady in the same sentence.

  18. '79 Defense Says:

Just read a bit about Blanda. He died ten years ago yesterday. 9-17-27 to 9-27-10

  19. bojim Says:

grillcok and bucsfife have you heard of skimming? Go by it till you find a place you’d like to read. I’m sure everyone else already does that. Get over it already. It ain’t gonna change and you all are getting real old.

  20. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

You “guys” who get all flustered and a féminine itch behind Joe’s moniker for Brady, do you even know why he does it? Let me hip you why he does it. Everything that’s in that moniker is exactly what Brady did in the off season. He accidently home invaded someone’s house looking for Leftwhich ignoring the NFL order for noi no team members meeting during the COVID hassle, he went against league orders not to have practice with player as well as violating a Fl. Park. It’s not like he made these things up. Please get over yourselves it’s not like Brady is God in the flesh or something great like that he’s just a man. Besides it’s Joe’s site he can write what he wants. You can always go over to Poohter Report you don’t like it. Guys still crying about this are as irritating as these guys still arguing over Shamus Winston!!!

  21. SB Says:

David……..He Never went ‘against league orders’ Funny as heck the way people write their own narrative and believe it as fact.
He didn’t listen to their ‘recommendations’ Just a Weeeee bit of difference there pal.

  22. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Still to get so upset over that buddy ol pal……..

  23. Cajun 69 Says:
