Scotty Miller Love
September 15th, 2020Imagine if Bucs officials knew how to evaluate running backs and special teams players like they know how to draft wide receivers.
What a glorious world it would be. Joe would feel like it was the late 1990s all over again, walking around Publix proudly wearing Bucs gear (along with dozens of other customers) and seeing rally flags on cars all over town.
But alas, the cold slap of reality.
Regardless, this post is about appreciating what 2019 sixth-round pick Scotty Miller accomplished yesterday against a polished and dangerous Saints secondary. Miller caught five of his six targets for 73 yards, and there were tough catches mixed in.
Tom Brady was supposed to lift the games of those around him. Bucs officials were adamant that would happen all across the roster.
It hasn’t happened yet, but it has with Miller, which is very exciting on many fronts, especially if Mike Evans is going to have lingering hamstring issues.

You don’t get to advocate for getting rid of Dare Ogunbowale – a special teams captain! – for Shady McCoy, and then b!tch about the special teams. Sorry, pick a side. All in on the vets they added, or say oh yeah backups need to play teams.

Yes and whoever asked Bill O’Brien for personnel info on Donovan Smith should be fired….

the late 90’s was a beautiful thing…
everyone and every store window was decked in bucs gear and bucs paraphernalia…
it was like being in green bay…
then poof…it was a gone one day…in a heartbeat… go figure

Miller was effective…..unfortunately Evans and Gronk weren’t. We have $26-29 million(?) tied up in two guys that produced 3 receptions/13 yds/1 TD. That’s pathetic. Now lets throw in our LT Smith at $14 million…..whatever brilliance Licht displays in finding gems in the draft he grossly offsets with poor cap use elsewhere. Personally I dont think Evans is worth his salary even when healthy….I just dont think having that much tied up in ONE WR creates enough value in production unless you have a young QB on a rookie contract. Then you can shift the budget from the QB unit to the WRs. Gronk isn’t worth $10 million….he’s the equivalent of Suh. Effective in specific roles but not nearly as dynamic as in his younger days. He should be making about half of what he is. I would be shocked if he could break a 4.9 in the 40 at this point in his career.

GO BUCS!!!!!

The acquisition of players like Gronk, Shady & Fournette have not paid off yet….but we are certainly feeling it on special teams…..because they don’t contribute there.
As for Scotty Miller………LOOKING GOOD!!!

The team has paid big money for press relevance, in many areas.
I don’t dislike the layers necessarily, but some are at least 25% overpaid

The day they fired Derrick was the day the music died.

Scotty Miller is going to have a 1,000 yard season I’m saying that right now TB clearly likes throwing the ball to him. Scotty has made a huge jump compared to last year his route running has gotten ten times better and his hands I mean that deep ball that he caught on Sunday showed how much better his hands have gotten.
I definitely think over the next few weeks the offense is really going to come together now that we have some live game reps under them and can what needed to get tweaked

Plus he drew some PI. Notice every ball Brady there to miller was a perfect strike. That extra work he put in with Brady, that’s why Brady’s says he is always where he is suppose to be. Once we get the others on the same page it’s going to be lights out

If stupid Scotty Miller had just leaned forward on that 2nd drive, for the 1st down, that entire first half would have gone differently. He forced the team to punt because of that, and Brees went right down and got a TD, which was completely predictable.

Been saying this since last year and you kept blaming Miller!! He was wide open every time Winston missed him by 10 feet…. Winston was always VERY inaccurate!! Brady has a bad game but the throws he made were dimes that these players are not used to seeing…. Brady is old let’s face it .. But he’ll have more good to average games than bad ones and he will not keep throwing picks….. This team will make the playoffs they just have to stop believing that they are going to lose after one bad play…. I’ve bad okay and they are all ready to just throw in the towel and accept their loss… David has even said as much!!!
