Leonard Fournette has a memory
New Bucs running back Leonard Fournette served up a scouting report at Joe’s request today.
Tampa Bay fans are well aware that the Bucs are returning the NFL’s No. 1-ranked defense.
Well, Fournette faced that group last season and got mauled. Fournette finished with 14 rushes for just 38 yards against the Bucs, with a longest run of 10 yards. Joe asked him about that rush defense.
“Their front line was quick and amazing, linebackers fast,” Fournette said of the Bucs’ front-7. “They play with a lot of speed, a lot of attitude, and that’s what you want on a defense. … They got the offense the ball back a lot of times in that game, too. They came with their A-game and I’m happy to be with those guys now.”
In only three games did the Bucs run defense struggle to reach its high standards, twice against the Saints and in Seattle.
If they can lock down in New Orleans on opening day, Joe will be incredibly impressed.

I was at that game. Bucs definitely brought their A-game.
Foles stard that game and looked like total crap.
I remember laughing at Jags fans booing him at start of half-time.
Minshew started 2nd half and looked much better.

That’s where we start every week: Where we’re going to run the football, how we’re going to run the football. So upgrading it from last year was really just a matter of eliminating turnovers early in the first quarter.”
That should rile up a few goobers on this site.

The Saints are going to have a hard time running against us this coming Sunday. If our DBs took a step forward from the end of last season, it going to be a lot of 3 and outs for the Saints.

Considering in the first Saints game we had no TOs and at no point in the entire season we’re we down 14 in the first quarter it is just more flat out lies that some simply fall for.
That why I call him a lying, backstabbing, POS.
Also I must say it is very disappointing that no one in the media ever calls him out in his flat out lies. It’s truly disgusting and simple sad that the media here is so poor.
The only goobers here are the ones that believe the bold face lies that can easily and are quickly disproven.

I liked Winston and then disliked him. Too many turnovers for me. 30 interceptions and 12 fumbles last year — Ugh. Those turnovers were the facts that lost me.

The whole reason you defend that guy is the 5g yards passing, but if I had a running back that had 2,500 yards rushing and fumbled 15 times……. error ohhhh wait, no one would put up with a running back fumbling that much so it wouldn’t happen. Your boy had a WAY longer rope than he should have had.

I’m just saying there is this thing called coach speak that a lot of people don’t understand. Sure some are more up in arms then others about it because they believe their guy was wronged. But how many other QBs would have been benched if they played as erratically and bad as Winston did multiple times through the season? He was never benched for bad play not once. But supposedly he was “backstabbed”

Tampabusco The only thing I will say about Bruce Arians is this last year he when ask about the running game he did say that he don’t value that position at all . But when Brady came he brought in 4 different runningbacks when Brady looked bad during the scrimmage. Last year he said that the offensive line was ok they just need to be coach up and he drafted a offensive lineman in the first round . He did tell Jamies to keep slanging it and never maid no adjustment from game to game . He did have Jamies throwing the ball 45 times a game even when we were leading in the games . And he’s not going to ask Brady to throw 45 times a game . So some people can say maybe he did set Jamies up to fail because he likes older quarterbacks and that’s why Terry Bradshaw called him out on it . Even Payton Manning called him out on his playbook . So Bruce Arians is not
INNOCENT in this situation either . But I do like Rosen !! GO BUCS ..

3. 8 ints within the Bucs own 20 yard line
4. 16 ints within bucs 21-50
5. 8tds to 10 ints thrown in the first quarter

Haven’t missed a Bucs game since ‘00 and have been a day one religious follower of this website (check the hits coming from Quebec!). I need an explanation for why, unbelievably, I have zero level of excitement for the current season. It has to be some sort of battered wife syndrome. Just doesn’t feel right. Doesn’t seem like signing free agents is the way a 12 year playoff drought ends. I thought we were on the right track w Jameis. My brain tells me that this isn’t the way the NFL story is written. I feel like I need to spend this season as an “observer” rather than I fan, which is unbelievably upsetting. Need your wisdom!

The Bucs knew they had a limited window with Jameis. And by adding a few pieces and letting him go, they have one more year left in that window. The team is clearly not far from being really good. Only issue is can this offense come together in time to win games before it’s too late?
They could have tried Gabbert qt QB, not gotten Gronk, not gotten Fournette, and likely would have finished 5-11. Barring injury, it seems hard to believe the Bucs won’t contend for a playoff berth. This is the best roster this team has had in a long while and some believe as good or better than the Super Bowl champs.

Hated us playing against Fournette, very excited that he is now a BUC! Tough RB with good hands that is so difficult to tackle. Play after play after play!
Ready to watch him play on our offense! He looks like he is trying to hit defenders harder than they want to hit him, causing punishment to the defender play after play after play. They do get worn out with that. Opposing LB, CB, S all grow tired of being ran thru, over, or into. Something that Vaughn also has positive traits of. Excited to have McCoy, Fournette, working and sharing their knowledge with Jones and Vaughn this season. My dream would be to resign Fournette, Jones next season. Draft another RB next year. build with youth and experience.
