Bucs’ Letter To Season Ticket Holder

Yes, this is a sad day for Bucs fans. With all the high-profile moves the team has made this offseason, fans won’t be able to watch the first two home games, and perhaps additional home games will also be off-limits.
Brian Ford, COO of the Bucs, wrote a letter to a season ticket holder “Valerie” that is floating on social media this afternoon. Here is the snapshot Kevin O’Donnell of WTVT-TV Channel 13 obtained.
Ford made it clear the decision is a collaborative result of much research that included the NFL and “local officials.”
Since the Bucs, like every entity, must abide by local city and county ordinances and guidelines, the “local officials” likely included Hillsborough County and City of Tampa leaders.
Barring a court injunction, the Bucs cannot just flip area lawmakers the bird and open the gates of the Den of Depression to tens of thousands of people. Also, please note an earlier story Joe had that the stadium had to be refitted to comply with CDC guidelines, a costly and large endeavor.

the difference spaceman, is there are simple actions we can do as individual citizens to prevent death from covid.
This was not true about the Atomic bomb that CS lewis was speaking about.
We have the ability to wear masks in public, as a public service to protect the most vulnerable.
We have the ability to limit prolonged close contact with strangers, within reason, even while wearing masks, until the viral infection rate in our area drops down like it was doing in the begining of June.
These are simple steps that can prevent the need to ever do a full shutdown again due to covid, and that hopefully will allow a meaningful testing and tracing program (randomized surveilance testing) to do early identification of hotspots so that we can shut it down before it explodes.
the solutions are simple, and if done, can prevent the drastic that everyone pitches tantrums about.
If everyone (or most everyone) did the above, we would have fans in the stadiums. other countries do. They solved this so much better than us.

Before everyone blames the Glazers, Bucs and local officials, think about this: we Floridians did this to ourselves. After the lockdown people in Florida (in general) went right back to pre-lockdown behavior…no masks, socializing, etc. And new infections soared. We had a chance to get back to a semblance of normalcy . Now 14 year season ticketholders like me have to watch on tv

Global pandemic. 180,000 dead in the U.S. We know that transmission can occur from an asymptomatic person. Public health guidelines in no way recommend large gatherings even if it’s 25% of the stadium.

Yes, less than 2% of cases result in fatalities. But, fatalities are concentrated in the 65 and over group. Fully 82% of Florida fatalities are with the 65 and over group. The case fatality rate for seniors is 10%. Dont wear a mask, don’t practice social distancing, get infected and someone dies. If you are young and healthy you recover. The persons you infect maybe not.

Some day some historian will look at comments like these and wonder how stupid people could have been. The rest of the world is making “decent” progress with the virus (Russia, Brazil, India and US are exceptions). Mankind knows what to do. I guess many here don’t.
How could people get so worked up over missing a sporting event when there will be people die if the stands are full. If you knew you had a 5% chance of getting in a wreck and possibly die if you attended would you go? I guess a bunch of you would.

Being outdoors is good and the chance of catching a virus while outdoors is slim especially when sunlight kills it. Ive never been to a home game where the sun hasn’t been brutal and it felt like a 100 degrees. This could easily host fans no problem.
If you are scared of getting hit by a drunk driver on Saturday night and choose to stay home thats your right but you cant keep the rest of us from going out to dinner because of your own fear.

Obviously someone else not familiar with any of the studies available on the CDC website which give the lie to everything you have been told.
Even the New York Times has recently admitted that up to 90% of case numbers are false positives, because they are calling infinitesimal amounts of antibodies as positives, when that is not ever the standard for positive tests for ANY sickness. It is impossible for a person to be sick and contaigeous with these levels of positivity. They arent even testing for virus, either. They are testing for pieces of RNA strands. These pieces of RNA strands aren’t even specific for COVID19. They are the same material that are shed by any other type of COVID virus. This is why the NFL recently invalidated 77 positive test results as false positive.
The man who discovered these RNA strands, and won a Nobel Prize for his discovery, even stated that they shouldn’t be used to diagnose disease.
But to the leftist marxists, they don’t care. You will continue to spew the lies that the MSM tells you to repeat, because you would rather help destroy our freedoms if it means ushering in you dream of socialist utopia.
