What Is Bruce Arians Hiding?
August 26th, 2020During training camp, there are no such things as injury reports.
So if a player misses practice, the only thing fans can go on in August is what a coach offers to the Fourth Estate. So today, Bucco Bruce Arians sure flung open the doors of chatter when he fully dodged a question about the condition of Bucs Pro Bowl receiver Chris Godwin.
The Bucs rely on sports science and data from sensors players wear in practice to help determine if a guy needs a day off or not. Godwin has received three days off recently and two of the last two practices (including this morning when the Bucs practiced in the Glazer Shed).
So Arians was asked what was the data telling him to allow Godwin to have two straight practices off. Arians refused to bite.
“That’s for me to know and nobody else to find out,” Arians said.
Now for a league that craves if not demands message control, this will drive people crazy.
As the creator, curator and overall guro of ProFootballTalk.com, the great Mike Florio likes to say, silence invites speculation. So we can only speculate what is wrong with Godwin.
Joe does know that when Godwin was a rookie, he struggled with his allergies as the Florida summer climate really messed with his health. Only until he found the right blend of allergy medicine did he get better. Perhaps Godwin’s only issue is allergies?
Until we receive hard information, it’s anyone’s guess what is wrong with Godwin.
Always remember and never forget: Teams generally do not try to hide good or benign information.

Godwin could have a personal matter to deal with. This article is baseless until more is known.

Could’ve had Covid prior to training camp and is seeing some of the effects after that linger with a lot of people. Could be anything.

I read on another site that there were some Bucs hamstring injuries-
Same as last season! Maybe the trainers and sports scientists are doing something wrong?

Oh no! I know I’d jinx him if I bought a new Godwin jersy.

I couldn’t help but notice Rick Stroud’s statement to Chris during his presser that he will be a free agent at some point. In Rick’s head a deal will not get done before then.

to miss 3 days randomly in a 10 day span while everyone else is getting in sync with Brady seems like a pretty bizarre negotiating strategy. They haven’t tried to tiptoe around any other player’s health issues, so to me it sounds like a personal matter of some kind

“Baseless” my ass. If you are suggesting Joe is lying, then you better bring hard evidence that Godwin actually WAS practicing the past two days — when dozens including Joe himself saw that he wasn’t. So Arians is the victim of some online ventriloquist putting words in his mouth that he never said? Don’t claim to “baseless” unless you have zero idea what that word means.

If it is the allergies, Fluticasone Propionate is the nasal spray that saved me from Afrin! I don’t know the trade name, but that is the generic designation.
He’s probably got that ‘Rona, and the team isn’t allowed to disclosed ‘Rona status. They want us to think ‘Rona is like aids. Scary!
