Torn Quad Ends Gerald McCoy’s Season
August 17th, 2020Some consider Gerald McCoy a Tampa Bay legend, a future Buccaneers Ring of Honor inductee, so Joe is sharing this sad news.
The Dallas Cowboys put on pads today for the first time, as did most teams across the NFL, and McCoy was a casualty. The six-time Pro Bowler tore his quadriceps muscle, the team announced, and he’ll now head for season-ending surgery.
What a tough break for a guy who hasn’t had a serious injury in many years.
McCoy signed a multi-year deal with Dallas this offseason, and he has a load of time to recover, so Joe suspects this isn’t the end of McCoy’s football career.
Joe wishes McCoy well.

SB Phuck them Cowboys bwwaaaaa!!! That’s funny
August 17th, 2020 at 2:27 pm
Hopefully we stay healthy, would be nice if we could get Evans back.
August 17th, 2020 at 2:28 pm
This could be the end of McCoys career.
August 17th, 2020 at 2:36 pm
Hoping for a speedy recovery.
August 17th, 2020 at 2:37 pm
wrong side of 30 + major injury to the legs…
stick a folk in him…
GO BUCS!!!!
August 17th, 2020 at 2:41 pm
Damn…..GMC is a great guy
Hope he recovers and comes back strong next season.
August 17th, 2020 at 2:41 pm
Damn
August 17th, 2020 at 2:44 pm
Was never the biggest 93 fan, don’t want him in the ring of honor, and I do hate me some cowgirls….. but I don’t wish that on anyone.
August 17th, 2020 at 2:44 pm
Bro……………just retire already
……….GMC was retired the whole time when he played with the bucs anyways
August 17th, 2020 at 2:58 pm
Crazy how football people respect his game but some Bucs “fans” don’t. Not sure how anyone could wish anything but well to a good man and former Buc player who just had a season ending injury. Takes all types I hear. Get well soon Big G
August 17th, 2020 at 3:01 pm
Bwaaaahahahaha!!!
August 17th, 2020 at 3:15 pm
I know a lot of Bucs fans hate him because he was nice on the field and soft. But McCoy off the field is a great guy. Don’t wish for anyone to get hurt hopefully his career is not over. He still wasn’t good enough to be in the ring of honor though.
August 17th, 2020 at 3:20 pm
Hate to hear that about anyone. Isn’t this the same injury he had his first few seasons in the league?
August 17th, 2020 at 3:29 pm
Tough break. This could be it for GMC. Get well soon.
August 17th, 2020 at 3:36 pm
Steven:
I thought it was a torn biceps, one in each arm, that ended his first two seasons. I feel for any player that loses a season to injury.
August 17th, 2020 at 4:11 pm
I think that it was silly for McCoy to feel disrespected when they gave Suh his number, but I don’t think that he’s a bad guy. Based on his play last year with Carolina, he still has something left in the tank and I hope that he comes back healthy.
Damn good player for us, but ring of honor good? Naw. Maybe after a bunch of other former Bucs get in (Warrick Dunn, James Wilder, Shelton Quarles, Tony Mayberry, and Hardy Nickerson just off the top of my head) I guess he could be considered.
August 17th, 2020 at 4:17 pm
Damn, tough break GMc, best wishes for speedy recovery.
August 17th, 2020 at 4:18 pm
Ring of honor??
I better see Gramatica in the ring before McCoy.
August 17th, 2020 at 4:53 pm
Joe, I’m not sure this isn’t the end of McCoy’s career. Dallas will likely cut him over the next 365 and then what? He’ll be a 33 year old DT who has clearly lost a step. I can’t imagine there will be a team out there willing to part cash for GMC, not in a starting role anyway. I’ve always been a GMC fan and do believe he’ll be in the Ring of Honor one day but this could be it for him.
August 17th, 2020 at 5:06 pm
Anyone who would laugh or make negative comments about Mccoy after this is truly a disgusting human being.
August 17th, 2020 at 5:13 pm
never cared for his play, his lack of tenacity, and as some have said his softness, i do not think he will get on the field again, not enough passion drive or dedication, after a year off, prove me wrong GMC if you can
August 17th, 2020 at 5:15 pm
Ummm so???
August 17th, 2020 at 5:37 pm
Yes I feel for the man. He did work his buns off while he was here. He maximized his talent as best he could. That’s all you can ask of anyone!
I wish him the best whatever his future.
August 17th, 2020 at 5:43 pm
Best wishes to Gerald. He is a class act, I will always be a fan.
August 17th, 2020 at 5:45 pm
His get was his game. That explosiveness comes from your quads. He’s already aging so this could essentially end his career.
August 17th, 2020 at 6:09 pm
Real classy Snook, we need to reassign you to the Philadelphia Eagles fans. I’ll never forget the classless Eagles fans cheering when Warren Sapp was laying on the field. I don’t wish injury or death on anyone, if you do, you’re a lowlife.
August 17th, 2020 at 6:20 pm
That is a serious injury for a guy whose game is built on his “get off.”
Could be The End.
RoH? Please. No.
August 17th, 2020 at 6:36 pm
Where’s the list of 6 time pro bowlers on the Bucs?
Man deserves the ring of honor.
And I wish him a full recovery, was excited to see that Dallas D line w him.
Must be so disappointing. Sucks
August 17th, 2020 at 7:07 pm
You must be confused with all that different fandom Clean house, Bucs Saints and now a cowgirl fan? Wow smh
August 17th, 2020 at 8:04 pm
This may be the end of his career, mainly because he relies on his speed vs his power.
Most don’t know that GMC was a track star in High School.
August 17th, 2020 at 8:57 pm
Yeah, puck the Cowgirls.
August 17th, 2020 at 9:49 pm
Was he even touched? And he got injured from no contact? Yeah sounds like time to hang it up.
August 17th, 2020 at 9:50 pm

August 17th, 2020 at 10:50 pm
That was a fast twitch injury. The girls play on turf, right? Freak accident. Hope he has a speedy recovery. Wouldn’t wish anyone to get hurt let alone a season ending injury.
I don’t even know why they train that way. It’s so stupid. Dallas also had QBs running routes catching Dak’s passes. Great way to tank your reserves for no good reason. You’re taking reps from future insurance salesmen. Now how about start one of those guys as your starting 3T.
Aaron Rodgers is probably like, “That’s why I hated that HC.”
August 17th, 2020 at 11:01 pm
Softie opted out the smart way.
He’s so clever.
$$$$
August 18th, 2020 at 5:28 am
Cowboy news. Irrelevant. Stop picking scabs
August 19th, 2020 at 3:52 pm
His tendon was probably at its critical point in terms of stress and load, and it was just a matter of time til this happened. Still a freak thing to see unfold, especially in a practice drill with Your starting DT lining up at RT.
Hope the big guy recovers but I’m also okay with an NFC rival losing a starter. Dallas D-line still looks pretty good on paper even without him. As SB said, fk the cowgirls!
