Brady Pushing Defense

Talking Tom Brady.
A few Bucs players spoke today to the local pen and mic club via Zoom video conference calls. And when the topic of park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady came up, you could hear the respect dripping off their words about the new Bucs signal-caller.
Among them was outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul, who was part of a Giants team that beat Brady and the Belicheats for a Super Bowl win.
JPP was asked about Brady and his quick release. JPP admitted it is nasty but, he said, that helps the defense prepare and learn to react quickly.
“You are not lying,” said JPP when asked about Brady’s speedy release. “The ball comes out very quick, very fast. It challenges our DBs to get better at their coverages. It challenges us, our linebackers, to get better at our drops.
“It is making the whole defense better. That is something we are going to have to deal with the whole season so [may as well] get it, right now, that way we will get it right in a game.”
Now this is an element Joe had never really thought about but it makes all the sense in the world; if the Bucs defense, especially the young secondary, can get used to Brady’s lightning release, then being prepared for Drew Brees or Matty Ice should be no problem.
Joe just wonders how much the Bucs’ YAC will improve.

Anybody else just instinctively skip the “park-skipping, etc” descriptions before trying to read the rest of the article (like a goddamned adult ☺️). I think the Joes think it’s some sort of cute trademark, but who wants to read the same thing over and over trying to get to new information?

@Christopher, I skip over it. It’s dumb and worn out…a little wierd to make someone pick all that out. Detracts from the normally good message. Yes, not cute, or funny. But there are worse things, like Kamala/Biden, COVID, and ISIS. Not necessarily in that order.

I Love this site but I skip over all of the tired adjectives every tiime.
Especially the Peter King deal! It is almost like Joe is in school trying to meet a minimum word requirement for an assignment.

Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston was too indecisive to make these types of throws. Brady is quick to read the defense and knows who to throw the ball prior the snap. If he is covered, Brady simply moves onto the next target.

Seriously Joe, you never thought about what Brady’s scrimmaging against the Buc’s defense would do for the preparedness of the LBs and secondary? I actually think one of you commented on that weeks ago. Sure, Joe meant to that level of detail. –Joe Same for YAC. Many of us have been talking about how Brady’s accuracy and quick release will improve YAC for some time. Maybe it’s just your writing style, but hard to believe you haven’t thought or wondered about those things before.

Also Joe, you seem a bit sensitive to criticism of your customary tropes of players and other sports writers. Many of us have grown tired of them and just skip over to the meat of the article. The volume of posters to this site speaks to the volume, variety and relevance of content and the fun of bickering with other posters on the intricacies of football, and sometimes other topics. We love the site, but that doesn’t mean your tropes don’t get a little tedious. Tedious, not tedious, all good. –Joe

I skip over much of the article to get to the actual quotes or other sources… LOL. I like info, the writing/opinion, not so much.

Totally in agreement about the Joes’ monikers for Brady: they’re absolutely maddening. Seems like most of you don’t realize they are not there every time. Not even close. –Joe For us regular readers, we know to skim them over with acpicqued sigh. (And thank you for getting rid of the hyperlinks to each adjective. That was a great improvement there.) But common’ Joes, please consider using some Goat-worthy descriptives in their stead — even some of the time. I get that some readers may perceive park-violating, etc. names as humorous — and that the powers-that-be at Joe Bucs Fan World Headquarters love the taunt and the tease, but the GOAT, and this newly-globally-recognized Bucs team with global Bucs media like you, might deserve some, and have earned some, much better nicknames. Less often? Half the time? Please. The BEST Bucs website ever, JBF, has more eyeballs than ever with the best QB ever at the helm. Let’s raise the bar. Show the world that it can apply punny-funny AND boastfully-praising nicknames for TB 12. Go BUCS!

What was all the Savior, Franchise QB, Americas QB, Mr. Entertainment, Pro Bowler J. Winston, fluff and stuff? Drips of disrespect? It sure does not read like that. We never have see any: “pic six chucking, W finger eating, interception throwing, football fumbling, Uber hasseling, GHBTP screaming, J. Winston”. Have we? Why not? Not enough RESPECT for the GOAT QB?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, your football blog and you write how and about what you find interesting. You can always boot whom you feel disrespected you and your sponsers. I hear ya..
