QB Learning New Offense Overblown
August 2nd, 2020A lot of chatter this offseason and into training camp (or whatever you want to call the current gathering of players at One Buc Palace) has been of park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady learning a new offense.
For two decades, Brady ran a different offense for Bill Belicheat. Now, about to turn 43, Brady is expected to learn a brand new offense with virtually no offseason.
With new teammates.
Former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck of BSPN believes this is way blown out of proportion and Brady will be OK with Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians.
“I think we make a big deal of it sometimes,” Hasselbeck said of quarterbacks under new environments. “It is hard, but just look. Peyton Manning learned a new offense. He did fine. Brett Favre went to the Jets and was running a new offense and he did just fine. It’s going to happen.
“Peyton Manning had plenty of success [with the Broncos]. I would expect Tom Brady to do the same thing. One guy learning new terminology is a lot easier, as Bruce [Arians] said, than twentysomething guys learning a brand new terminology.”
Joe thinks Arians is right on the mark. A smart guy like Brady can learn a new offense earlier than 10 other offensive players can.
Besides, as Arians said last week, the offense last year absolutely hummed (except the running game). Why screw that up by changing offenses?

Joe……… I potentially feel sorry for you on the stance you have taken on Dare for the past , year and a half or so.
If I am right TB12 will turn DARE into a household name.

The signs of his commitment are already evident.
Can’t wait for opening Sunday and watching the chess match between Brady and the NO defense. And then our D against another legend in Brees.
Unreal, we have the best QB in our division. We went from last to first!
Boom!!!
In BA I Trust!

Dare has potential but he has never shown he’s starting material over Peyton Barber(when he was here)or Rojo for that matter. Useless argument or BA would have had him out there more often.

Bucco Bruce – coach of the year in the not too distant past. We can all agree I assume, Brady is one of the top one or two QB’s to ever lace ’em up. Learning a new offense with a few tweeks to suit Brady is a non issue. These two dudes are super smart.
The issue in my opinion is going to be timing and chemistry. That is why the Saints are going to be hard to beat unless they go all Saints like they do sometimes in game 1 and choke. The vast majority of the Saints players have their timing down from years together.

@Sport, one of the few teams in the league with a better QB advantage than the Bucs is the Saints. That game is the most troubling on the schedule IMO. Odd is we just started the season like that two seasons ago. Won in NO then, but of course, we didn’t have #3 at QB starting due to a very light supsension, so it made winning possible.
For the article, learning the offense is essential. And there is no question Brady will do that.

What about Favre’s last year with the Vikings? New team, took them to the NFC Championship game vs. the Saints and had a great chance to win if he didn’t get injured (fwiw, this was right before the bounties came to light).

Dare is #4 RB if we keep Lesean and keshwan Vaughn is ready to come back and get some reps.

Except manning brought majority of his offense with him. Look it up.

Just sayin’ SOE
Something is the cause of BA using Dare so much in the passing game.
If TB12 likes Dare. Then Dare is our huckleberry.

Hard to fathom LeSean McCoy replacing Dare on ST

LOL For what??? Cleaning guys’ COVID face shields on the sidelines?
And why in the world would Brady throw to Dare rather than Shady??? More over, why would any coach who hasn’t hit the bottle before the game play Dare over Shady???

This will be the Patriots offense it will be a dink and dunk offense with maybe 3 or 4 of Bruce Arians long passes if we even finish the season.
August 2nd, 2020 at 5:38 pm
Who cares what offense we run just make sure the passes go to Bucs.

By the way do these morons know the saints offense is the so called dink n dunk. But let them tell it the saints the best thing since sliced bread.🤷🏽♂️ How you like them facts .

Jay Miss never mastered an offense in 5 years. I’m just a wee bit more confident in the GOAT.

TB12 is the best there ever was at reading the D & taking what they will give him!!! I think all RB’s will be better as long as they can catch the Damn ball…

Too funny. Were it the 70s, I’d have to consider the comment on a serious note!
Good point though.

I’m not worried about Brady learning a new offense. I’m more concerned about his accuracy and if he can still throw the dang ball to the WR corp.

I’m not worried about TB12, I’m worried about the rest of the players like the rookies and new FA players that won’t get any preseason games.
