“They Should Damn Well Not Do It”
July 3rd, 2020A few trivia questions:
Carson Palmer averaged how many hits per game in five years as a Bruce Arians quarterback?
And how many did Jameis Winston average last year, and how many has Tom Brady averaged per game since 2007?
The folks at BSPN TV are very focused on Brady and how he’ll fare in Tampa. The Bristol brain trust has concluded that Brady can’t get hit like a Bruce Arians quarterback to survive.
Palmer was hit an average of 4.1 times per game in Arizona (2013-2017). Jameis was drilled 6.7 times per game last year. Andrew Luck was pounded 7.4 times per game in his lone season with Arians, and Ben Roethlisberger averaged 4.9 shots per game in five years with Bucco Bruce.
Brady? He absorbed an average of 3.6 hits per game over the past 13 years.
“If Bruce Arians and Byron Leftwich allow Tom Brady to get hit because they calling plays down field and want him to hold the ball to throw it, that’s a fireable offense,” retired defensive lineman Marcus Spears bellowed to the nation. “And they should damn well not do it.”
Joe’s not worried at all about Arians and Leftwich in this area. Heck, Palmer wasn’t mobile and his 4.1 hits per game represent only eight more hits per season than Brady.
No, Joe doesn’t want Brady hit more than he’s used to, but Brady will be able to manage that and he’ll certainly have the freedom to change plays and he’ll have major input into game plans. And perhaps most fun, Brady will get to chew out his offensive linemen, if they need it, like Jameis never seemed to do.

Not worried….. Dang, he’ll know we’re he’s gonna throw the ball before the ball is snapped ….The man can read any defense !!!!!!!! #ILOVEMESOMEBUCS

No one gave a dam when Winston was the quarterback. Quitting making excuses for Brady before the season even start.
July 3rd, 2020 at 1:14 pm
Winston got hit so much be HE held the ball too long!!
July 3rd, 2020 at 1:26 pm
While the hit rate and lack of protection of brady from the mismanaged roster will be a fireable offense at the end of the season, it will not make it on the top ten list of why ole stale biscuit, and licht bulb will be fired within 24hrs of the season ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flawed trash system by a phony, lazy, blame shifting, hype man.

I have a hunch that Donovan Smith is going to get chewed out often this year. The Joe’s talk about Brady determining the fate of O.J. Howard, but I think that the same holds true for Donovan. If he pulls his normal loafing, half a$$ed, take a play off here and there routine, we’ll be drafting another tackle in the first round next year.

Guys it is really hard to block for your QB when he holds the ball long and scrambles in the pocket unpredictably.
With Brady our OL is going to look Stellar. Brady’s pre snap reads and protection moves will solve those problems. The OL will always know where their QB is and be able to protect him Much better than they were able to with JW

Can we stop with the dialogue that assumes BA is an idiot that doesn’t know TB’s age?
July 3rd, 2020 at 2:29 pm
You’ll see Brady call an audible at the line so he isn’t hit as much and find the receiver that’s going to win his match up. Winston only ran the play that he was given and took a lot of hits for it, plus we know about the turnovers that came with that.

Whatever I think he can take 1 extra hit over 19 games wink wink.

A little insight into El Buco Realisto:
Howard hypothesizes that this character is a long-term Bucs troll with 5000 email accounts and a grudge against the entire Bucs organization.
He started back in 2003 when he went after Gruden hard.
Since then he’s gone after every Bucs HC, GM and High profile player.
Howard is pretty sure he was tmaxcon back in the McCoy days.
He has nothing but time on his hands and is very very persistent. He has an almost infinite number of usernames and associated emails which makes things difficult on Joe as far as policing. It becomes a literal whack-a-mole game.
Howard thinks it’s ok to be highly critical of the Bucs, but please be real about it. This obese troll just wants to bring down the entire organization as a whole if possible by creating a fake online commenting majority.
When you see several commenters interacting about each others comments..that’s him.
When you see a high profile troll with a tunnel-vision agenda against one coach or player that’s him.
Ironically he never goes after the Glazers.
LOL maybe he works for the Glazers? How ironic would that be?
Hope this helps

All of Arians previous QBs tended to hold the ball a little too long. They also did not have quite the amount of weapons Brady will have this year.
If Leftwich is man enough to listen to his QB he will be worth a lot more money after next season.
Brady will be able to run waves of receivers, so there will be open people all over the place. That, and his progression reading speed, will keep him from being hit too often, as will Gronk.

I love reading the comments of people with some common sense. You know who you are, the people that don’t hate the Bucs, BA, Licht, Glazers, blah, blah, blah.
July 3rd, 2020 at 5:18 pm
He’ll be fine.
July 3rd, 2020 at 5:19 pm
Jameis held the ball long enough to let the defenders get open! Luck, and Ben were pups when Arain’s had them, and Carson Palmer sucked. He was never the same after he blew out his knee with Cincy. Brady won’t be taking that many hits. He never has, and never will.

“Flawed, trash system”? That was #3 in the league despite leading the league in TOs?! From the QB position, no less?!
Sure.
July 3rd, 2020 at 6:39 pm
Howard Cosell…….I don’t know how old you are, or if you’ll get this reference, but as Artie Johnson said on Laugh In……”very interesting!”
I’ve continued to ask El Buco whether or not he’s been able to get the sheep back into the pen, and have been met with no response.
July 3rd, 2020 at 6:39 pm
it’s funny.
The football boomers still don’t understand how turnovers are like shotgun blasting your leg off in football.
Like Joe said “Turnovers are like strikeouts”
July 3rd, 2020 at 6:40 pm
Marcus who? And why does he matter? Just a stupid comment.
July 3rd, 2020 at 6:52 pm
Ooh #3 in the league……
Means nothing!!!
Jameis was #1 in the league in Total Offense and #2 in TD’s
But most of you all continually say it means nothing.
I say he was #1 in spite of Arians and Leftwhich telling him to put on 20 lbs. so he could get hit constantly, and in spite of having a garbage running game and a lack of tight end usage- by foolish design.
Jameis accomplished this in spite of being horribly banged up and leaving it all out there for these phony backstabbing ingrates. Licht and BS

Check yo sheet!
July 3rd, 2020 at 7:16 pm
I would say turnovers are more like errors that put runners into scoring position. A strike out doesn’t seem near as bad as most turnovers.
July 3rd, 2020 at 7:24 pm
Sorry Clean House, I believe that Bruce Arians and Byron Leftwich know more about football than you. They’re coaches in the NFL. I’m sure you’ve probably watched some games and stuff to make you the expert that you are (same as I). Are you a fan of another team? Or a fan of the Bucs, just a chronic complainer?
July 3rd, 2020 at 8:32 pm
I’m a fan of the Bucs. I have a consistent take on what I’ve seen transpire.
July 3rd, 2020 at 8:36 pm
I thought all of the quarterbacks would have been hit many more times, throughout the course of a game; as in twice as much. All of those numbers seem low to me.
July 3rd, 2020 at 8:48 pm
Clean House: Okay, good. When the Bucs have a great year (maybe this year) we’ll all rejoice.
July 3rd, 2020 at 11:02 pm
i love jameis one of 1

From Logan Mankins to….
Sweazy to Pamphile to Benenocht to Cappa…
When will Licht stop messing around!!
We havent been able to run the ball since we had TWO good guards.
Marpet plus Mankins led the best RB duo in the league that year. Yes, DougMartin and Charles Sims had a great year behind TWO good guards.
Licht forced Pamphile to start. Then Benenoch. Now Cappa.
How has no one else noticed this?
Cappa is a career backup. A 6th man. He needs two more years of practice on second string O-line. He should go up against our defense for 2 more years before he competes for a starting position.
We need the best RG we can find for the next two years.
Cappa was one of the worst ranked guards in the NFL last year.
In the second half of the season, Jensen had to help him almost every snap.
Hes liability and he has no lower body strength. 6-6, 300 pounds in NOT a guards body! I thought we learned that with “skinny knees” Benenoch? (Readt tje article. Some teams took Benenoch off their draft boards because of his skinny knees. Licht drafted him. And gifted him a starting job! Like Pamphile and Cappa!)

Actually some of us have been talking about this issue with Arians since before he was even officially our coach.
His QBs routinely get demolished.
Good news is that Brady makes quick decisions.
