Defending Tom Brady
July 3rd, 2020Joe found it more than a little interesting how last week park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady was absolutely condemned by several in the national NFL media for having the gall to work out with his teammates at a local private school.
Nevermind that same school hosts many youth sports camps on the same days Brady has been there with a handful of Bucs teammates.
Meanwhile, Joe didn’t hear a discouraging word about Chris Godwin working with others at some type of football camp in early June. And days after Brady was raked over the coals, video emerged of Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray leading teammates in workouts.
The reaction? [Crickets]
Last night Joe noticed on WTSP-TV Channel 10, a report from Venice High School about high shcool sports programs battling “The Sickness.” Some sort of football drills/camp were going on along with a volleyball camp. Social distancing didn’t seem enforced.
But Joe guesses those kids get to skate, too, because they aren’t Brady?
At any rate, it seems Brady’s paid representative, agent Don Yee, decided to go on the offensive and defended his client in a piece by Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports.
“The players — who have to perform in front of millions — have to get ready somehow, especially since the game itself is fast, dangerous and violent,” Yee said. “If they hibernated 100 percent, they’ll be less safe.”
And despite NFLPA big-shot DeMaurice Smith scolding Brady for holding workouts, despite the NFLPA’s medical advisor asking the association to stand down, Yee also seemingly had words for Smith saying the NFL and the NFLPA have yet to set requirements for when training camps are scheduled to open later this month.
“Neither the union nor the league have agreed on any mandatory COVID and preseason preparation protocols.”
Joe would like to know just what Brady did to somebody to get torched the way he has been, yet when some of his brethren in the league do the exact same thing, nothing (that Joe can detect) was said.
Selective ethics?
Joe will ask again, don’t people think if the school thought what Brady and his Bucs teammates were doing was so dangerous on unlawful, they’d shut it down? Along with the mask-free youth camps the school hosts for hundreds of kids and counselors?

Actually, looks like the players can opt out of playing this year, so ‘have to perform’ is a stretch. I guess you could say ‘have to perform’ if they want their salary.

It’s time to hold these celebrities accountable that do not think basic public safety does not apply to them!!!!!!!!!! That is why myself and many “real” fans demand that the Nflpa and the NFL offices and Team Glazers SUSPEND tom brady for the first three games, for endangering public safety and flaunting health guidelines!!!!!!!!!!!!! This public display of accountability will go a long ways in public health awareness!!!!!!!!!!!!
Three game suspension for tom brady!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me translate for El SuckoPessimisto
“I’m claiming to be a Bucs fan but I want our starting QB to be suspended for 3 games”……not by the NFL but by the team’s owners”

It’s time to hold the media accountable for playing politics with our freedom.
There is no scientific basis for all this fear mongering

let me translate for Alanbucsfan: I’m an idiot that does not believe that there is a PANDEMIC world wide, and it is all the media’s fault for telling us about it. we demand our “freedom” to spread this disease and have untold hundreds of thousands more die !!

Is the “freedom of association’ part of our constitution still alive?

Thanks, Ben…….El SuckoPessimisto loves to attack me and “translate” my posts so I thought I’d return the favor……however this post is quite clear….it is proof that he is no Buc fan at all.
His problem with me is quite simple, he sees me as a primary threat to his mindless posts.

The season will be canceled. This virus is going to be here for awhile. It attacks everyone. It’s not political and no age group is invulnerable. Hopefully 2021 will be better. 2020 is toast.

To be forced to choose between basic freedoms and good health practices is a false choice……we can do both.
The problem with the surge is that many failed to follow guidelines. They are the ones who jeopardize other’s health & freedoms.
I fail to see how Brady’s workouts jeopardize anyone but those involved…..to the contrary, if they produce negative results it may help end the NFL season. Full workouts begin in a couple of weeks anyway.

A little racism going on here? What other difference is there between the other QBs who received no criticism and Brady?
July 3rd, 2020 at 10:11 am
I know that if he were black Big Hog and some others here would start pulling the race card.
Yet he can’t because the black QBs are getting away with it while TB gets hammered. lol

It appears just about everyone not a Bucs fan remains butt hurt that Brady is in Tampa.

It’s the price TB12 has to pay for all that “white privilege” right?
July 3rd, 2020 at 11:41 am
Playing football in the NFL is way more dangerous for a professional athlete in great shape than possible exposure to this virus.
To expect any QB coming onto a new team to not spend time getting some familiarity with his teammates through these type of workouts is absurd.
July 3rd, 2020 at 11:41 am
All athletes get this treatment some it’s deserved sometimes not.
But there’s this weird cult movement on Twitter that believes only Winston gets it. NBA NFL any sport don’t matter same thing.

Ha! This is what we Patriots fans have gone through for years. When other quarterbacks boasted about playing with the air pressure on their footballs, the world laughed. When Brady was accused of the same thing, it was a constitutional crisis. Brady has a big target on his back. Comes with a career of stomping on the competition.
Welcome to the party, Bucs fans!
July 3rd, 2020 at 2:05 pm
I don’t think that it’s anything nefarious (although 90% of media today is exactly that) or a hit job on Brady. Brady has way more “juice” than anyone else mentioned above and he’ll draw more eyeballs.

A little insight into El Buco Realisto:
Howard hypothesizes that this character is a long-term Bucs troll with 5000 email accounts and a grudge against the entire Bucs organization.
He started back in 2003 when he went after Gruden hard.
Since then he’s gone after every Bucs HC, GM and High profile player.
Howard is pretty sure he was tmaxcon back in the McCoy days.
He has nothing but time on his hands and is very very persistent. He has an almost infinite number of usernames and associated emails which makes things difficult on Joe as far as policing. It becomes a literal whack-a-mole game.
Howard thinks it’s ok to be highly critical of the Bucs, but please be real about it. This obese troll just wants to bring down the entire organization as a whole if possible by creating a fake online commenting majority.
When you see several commenters interacting about each others comments..that’s him.
When you see a high profile troll with a tunnel-vision agenda against one coach or player that’s him.
Ironically he never goes after the Glazers.
LOL maybe he works for the Glazers? How ironic would that be?
Hope this helps

realist is a troll and pulling your chain. Ignore him.
