“Tenacity” Defines Gronkowski
June 17th, 2020A true Tampa Bay legend spoke last night and called Rob Gronkowski possibly the second-greatest tight end to ever play the game.
The icon was Buccaneers Ring of Honor member Jimmie Giles, speaking to Friend of Joe host Alex Marvez and Hall of Fame NFL executive Gil Brandt on SiriusXM NFL Radio.
“We’re all excited here, man,” Giles said.
“When you have the greatest quarterback now in the history of the NFL, and perhaps the second greatest tight end (laughs), I mean Gronkowski, I tell you. He’s an unbelievable specimen. And I like his tenacity, because when you put that ball in the air it belongs to him. If it’s coming to him, it belongs to him. That’s kind of the process, you know, the way [I approached the game].”
Arians will give Brady the leeway to air it out and win games with his arm, Giles added. And 65-year-old Giles is fired up about that style of football.
If the Bucs stay reasonably healthy, they simply have to win 10 games. Joe has to believe that. Just look at that offense and how efficient it should be this season with Brady protecting the ball like he’s Josh Freeman in 2010.

People forget about Tony Gonzalez so soon. He is the greatest TE ever to play. Every aspect. Blocking, catching and just smashing dudes. Tony was a stud. Gronk not being the best ever at his position is no sleight. Gronk was great, and lets hope we are getting a healed up version of that. He isn’t exactly over the hill.

Gotta believe baby! If we don’t make the playoffs, we will truly know the gods are against us. New uniforms, new QB, and new attitude. Go Bucs!

Between Gronk, Evans and Brate, the red zone belongs to the Bucs. Might even run a couple in too.

The most important thing about Gronk is he and Brady have chemistry. Gronk will help the offense have early season success while Brady gets comfortable with the rest of the team.

@PSL Bob
It would be due to the licht bulb gm that overpaid, for an ancient roster and bad draft picks!!!!!!! This roster would be “good on paper” back in 2015!!!!!!!!!!! And it would be due to the sloppy coaching and out of touch, one foot out the door, of ole stale biscuit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That loser has one playoff victory in his head coaching career!!!!!!!! ONE playoff victory!!!!!!!!!! And the sheep and local media treat this fraud like he is some coaching royalty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t blame the “gods” or voodoo, or some crack pot theory that the universe is against Tampa, PSL Bob!!!!!!!!!! Why don’t you try to hold the very temporary powers that accountable!!!!!!!!!!!! Why don’t you blame those that made desperate moves for this one season window and went “all in” to save their jobs???????? Because the “real” fans will!!!!!!!!!!!!!
go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^^”Wonk, wonk, wonk”, all I hear is Charlie Brown’s teacher!
June 17th, 2020 at 12:34 pm
I’m hoping Gronk’s tenacity will rub off on other players as well.

These SB throwbacks are by far the best new jerseys. GOAT QB wins us a SB in Tampa the year we brought the SB reds. Holy Scheisse!!!

Guys honestly. If Tampa Bay can protect him with world class O-line He can play to 50 years old all in Tampa. Wouldn’t that be nice? Give McCoy enough time to come get a ring. Go Bucs!

Say Joe, let me clean up your title here. It should read, partying and Injury defines Gronk. I mean the guy has not..completed a full season since 2011.

Sometimes all time greats at any position get skewed by stats- including longevity and team accomplishments. My metric is – If I had to win one game, who would start for me. I think at QB its really between Montana and Brady with Brady getting the slight nod due to his mastery with multiple OCs. At TE, its definitely Gronk as he impacts a game so violently with his blocking and yet, hauls in key Tds. Gonzalez not winning at least 1 championship is the deal breaker for me!

Ok so I haven’t been on here in a while but I got a question? Let’s say this season gets canceled because of COVID. Wil this count as a year played for Brady and we only get next year to see him play for us? 🤔

Mike
You are now embarrassing yourself by prematurely stating a deal is bad or a player is injured as if that would somehow cover for the fact that TRAITOR JW betrayed the team, fans, and franchise with that AZ adventure…the fact that he is freaking 28-42 a LOSING QB…yeah with tons of excuses for his FAILURES.
Meanwhile your hurt fee fees cause you to post utter stupidity like…
“It should read, partying and Injury defines Gronk. I mean the guy has not..completed a full season since 2011.”
He had THREE ALL PRO…not cheaper Pro Bowl but All Pro seasons in that time frame. Of course you may be the most negative human being posting here in the absence of TMAX. So you DESPERATELY search of ANY tidbit of negativity you can find about a freaking ALL PRO.
He STARTED double digits in all of those years but two. Two years he started 15 all but ONE of the possible starts.
So Mike while you define your life by everything you CAN’T do…I’d prefer to look at life’s possibilities.
It’s one thing to state the obvious…it’s the NFL careers are short and on ANY play ANY players can have their season/career ended. Odds increase SOMEWHAT as the players age and acquire wear and tear but your ASSUMPTIONS would be simply that…assumptions…sadly though in your case they come across presented as hope.
So we get it Mike. Your love of JW…your EGO and need to be right are more important than the feelings of any other freaking fan here who hopes Brady succeeds and the Bucs win.

Gronk is smoke. He’ll play in the red zone and teach OJ. I can handle that.
June 17th, 2020 at 4:51 pm
Another slow news day at the SiriusXM radio.
June 17th, 2020 at 5:47 pm
Well played stpete, well played…..
June 17th, 2020 at 8:37 pm
Geez guys, time for a bit of the rough and tumble I see. Save it for Madden.
HEY GRONK GALLONS OF ICE CREAM. . . you know, for snacks.
GO BUCS!!
June 17th, 2020 at 9:18 pm
Just statin facts. stpetebuc man. Look it up yourself. Or do you call Gronk not completing a full season since 2011 fake news?
June 17th, 2020 at 10:22 pm
Gronk is a freaking nutcase, luckily he is our freaking nutcase.
June 18th, 2020 at 4:52 am
Gronks per game production far exceeds any other TE in history. TG has the higher carreer numbers because of more games played.
