The Schedule Gods Were Kind
May 7th, 2020When your favorite team hasn’t started better than 3-5 in seven consecutive first halves of seasons, you celebrate when the early part of the schedule is favorable.
That’s exactly what Joe is doing tonight. The Big Storm beer is flowing, and Joe has a tray of Hooters boneless wings with a variety of sauces.
Look at those first four games:
- at New Orleans
- PANTHERS (at home)
- at Denver
- CHARGERS (at home)
It wasn’t going to get much easier for the Bucs in the first quarter of the season, with the rebuilding Panthers, a beatable but talented Denver team and the Chargers with a rookie quarterback (most likely). And the Saints are notorious slow starters, especially on opening day. (See 2018 at the Superdome).
The football gods are smiling upon the Bucs. Thanks, Tommy!
Now the Bucs just have to win early and end that damn seven-season streak.
(See the full 2020 schedule here.)

Bone in Joe.
Joe needs hands free to type. Boneless allows shoveling. –Joe

Every year people get all crazy about hard and easy schedules. Silliness. There are always a few surprise teams that slide and a few that elevate.
Beat the team in front of you, no matter who they are.
In BA I Trust!

No game is a gimme in the NFL
May 7th, 2020 at 8:08 pm
2018 in the Superdome?
May 7th, 2020 at 8:09 pm
Wow. I really thought we’d see some serious prime time early in the season. Instead we get MNF at the Giants and SNF at the Faders. Very interesting.
May 7th, 2020 at 8:10 pm
2 Monday , 2 Sunday night, the usual Thursday and tons of afternoon games.
May 7th, 2020 at 8:12 pm
Well, heck, they owed us after last year, so sure.
May 7th, 2020 at 8:13 pm
5 primetime games! No ridiculous travel. Tom Brady style RESPECT.
May 7th, 2020 at 8:14 pm
After last years scheduling debacle, Bucs were due for a break.
May 7th, 2020 at 8:17 pm
Any chance some of the later season games get moved to 8pm games joe?weeks 14-17 maybe?
May 7th, 2020 at 8:20 pm
At least all 8 home games are actually at home, there’s that to be happy about.
May 7th, 2020 at 8:22 pm
Games can be flexed to prime time later in the season…..
May 7th, 2020 at 8:24 pm
We should win 10 to 11 games. However because we’re the Bucs an 8-8 record wouldn’t shock me.
May 7th, 2020 at 8:30 pm
Beating the Saints week 1 is a must. I can hear the analysts now if that doesnt happen… got to have the confidence and momentum from beating them
May 7th, 2020 at 8:33 pm
All together now… “Thanks Tom!”
The beer is on us brother.

The Denver game interests me. We know what we’re going to get from N.O, but going to the West early in the year, probably toughest homefield in all of football, in a stadium Brady has struggled in more than any place. Will be fun to see if Davis/Dean/Bunting is able to keep Sutton/Jeudy/Hamler in front of them. Or exactly scared of Drew Lock, Tampa should be favored but that’s a sneaky good game
May 7th, 2020 at 8:49 pm
Goodell was kind
Was it cause of years of terrible schedules?
Or
Was it the brady factor ?
May 7th, 2020 at 9:19 pm
Beating the Saints week 1 isn’t a must. We lost to them week 1 in OT during our SB year.
May 7th, 2020 at 9:25 pm
I think we’re being rewarded for ditching the League’s biggest dumbazz!
May 7th, 2020 at 9:36 pm
Miller and Chubb will put Brady on IR in the first quarter. Goobert will come in and have everyone yelling for Ryan Griffin and to sign or trade for Cam Newton.
May 7th, 2020 at 9:41 pm
And cue the rac ist remarks from the usual ant i white Madeas in 3…2….1….
May 7th, 2020 at 9:43 pm
Swampbuc are you really a Bucs fan or just another troll?
May 7th, 2020 at 10:00 pm
That Denver game will be tough game. After 2 division games and Brady’s first home game as a Buc traveling to Denver in week 3 will be tough tough game.
Huge emotion the first two weeks then……………@Denver.
It won’t be like the Windy City Beatdown in week 4 2018 but tough none the less.
May 7th, 2020 at 10:28 pm
I still remember that whooping we put on those sorry 49ers last year on opening day. So many of you were certain of that….
I hope we win all of our games this year, but this matchup/prediction bs is really a waste of time.
May 7th, 2020 at 11:00 pm
“Chargers with a rookie QB” umm…Daniel Jones. Anybody? Bueller?
May 7th, 2020 at 11:18 pm
We should be 3-1 after 4 games
May 8th, 2020 at 6:33 am
You won’t think of it as a reward if he (Mr. 5,000) kicks your ass up and down BEALE STREET!!! How about that bumbass Scott!
May 8th, 2020 at 6:37 am
Good morning MadMax!! from one racist to another!!!
May 8th, 2020 at 7:43 am
I see Brees, Teddy B., Drew Lock and Tyrod (let’s just hope this ain’t the same ol Bucs where three out of four QBs haves carved up the Bucs and don’t discount Denver’s run game and the weapons they have thru the draft. But faith in the Bucs, idk, let’s go
May 8th, 2020 at 7:46 am
I don’t see any rookie QB’s beating our Tom Brady lead Bucs this year even though he doesn’t play defense. He won’t be out played by a rookie, or back up like Jameis has in past years.
May 8th, 2020 at 7:58 am
Uh, Big Hog, Beale Street is in Memphis, not New Orleans. We don’t play Memphis. Thought we all knew that…
May 8th, 2020 at 8:38 am
Big Hog……. racist genius.
May 8th, 2020 at 8:57 am
Bourbon street …there fixed it ….never been to Memphis …is that where they killed THE KING!!
